(aka Starfish Beach or StarFish Beach) is one of the most picturesque and uncrowded all over Fukuoka. Almost devoid of entertainment infrastructure, it is attractive numerous starfish that live on the shore. Other advantages of the attraction include: magnificent scenery, cleanliness and privacy.

Description of the beach with starfish

Or, as it is also called, "Starfish Beach" spread out in northern part Fukuoka. He's quite difficult to reach and is located at a considerable distance from the main tourist places of the island: travelers come here rarely, more often - as part of excursion groups.

Rush Vem- This paradise, covered small like flour white sand. The sea is shallow, incredible warm and transparent, it's beautiful here azure colors. Entering the water - flat, level, without stones and sharp shells. The beach is suitable for bathing, but more - for contemplation natural beauty and photo sessions. Its main advantage and feature is the huge number of large and small, bright starfish. They are scattered right along the shore, at shallow depths e, so you don’t need to make any effort to admire them. It’s still worth taking a mask and snorkeling tube with you: underwater world represented here by other representatives of marine fauna.

There is practically no shadow on Bai Rush Vem: the greenery here is not very dense, and there are few sun canopies. The beach will delight travelers idyllic landscape, it can safely be called one of the best on the island. Its main drawback is the dirt accumulated on the left side of the bank. Vacationers must comply with the following rules of conduct:

  1. Don't leave behind garbage.
  2. Don't pick up with starfish.
  3. Don't take them out of the water don't touch And don't step on.
Important! At the end of the tourist season, there are many more starfish less, this is also due to the fact that some travelers take them instead of souvenirs. This big trouble Bai Rush Vema, because due to irresponsible guests of the island, the beach may simply lose its “trick”.

Where is the starfish beach?

Beach with starfish on the map of Fukuoka:

From the administrative center of Fukuoka - Duong Dong city, “Starfish beach” is 20 km away. Getting to the beach is not so easy. First, tourists need to find highway No. DT 973. You need to drive along it for about 10 km, until you reach a clearly visible turn to gravel road. Travelers need to follow this path for the same amount of time. Already almost near the sea shore, to the right, near the fishing village, another path goes - bumpy, uneven I. There is no need to be afraid: you only need to drive along it for about 600 m.

The main thing is not to miss the second branch, they will help you with this signs and locals, which often tell travelers the right path. If guests of the island decide to cross the road on bikes, they need to stock up masks or bandages on your face: dust from unpaved roads flies in all directions.

Important! Tourists who have little experience driving motorcycles need to be as neat: the road here is very complex, beginners may lack the skills, which can result in trouble and injury to the trip. The driver and his passenger must be in helmet X.

Price motorbike rental in one day: about 250,000 dong (750 rubles or 10 dollars). On average, the journey by motorcycle takes about one hour. Driving your own car is a little faster.

Attention! For travel with a driver you will have to pay approximately 500,000 dong (1,420 rubles or 21 dollars).

Tourists can also cooperate and rent minibus for 10 people- it's more profitable. It will cost the company 1,000,000 dong (2,820 rubles or 42 dollars).

Some excursion companies offer tours whose program includes a visit to the beach with starfish. They usually include visit to a fishing village, Phu Quoc pepper plantation and eco-farm. A visit to Starfish is provided by the popular Tour "Sunset Photo Tour of Fukuoka".

What entertainment is there on the beach, prices

Bai Rach Vem is attractive primarily because it is not crowded and savagery: not every tourist decides to overcome the difficult and confusing path to unique beach. Better food and drinks bring with you: The cost of snacks at the few local stalls is much higher due to lack of competition. On the shore is open "floating" which was built right in the water on stilts. The menu of the establishment includes fish, seafood and some national Vietnamese dishes, the price of which is also somewhat overpriced.

There are no other entertainments here: this place is unpopular, there are no large groups of tourists here, and accordingly, the infrastructure is poorly developed. On the other hand, this can be considered the “highlight” of Starfish Beach.

Vacationers visit the neighboring fishing village, also built at sea: traditional examples are presented here Vietnamese houses on the water. This authentic a place where you can truly feel the local flavor, chat with locals and see other, not tourist Phu Quoc.

Star Beach in Fukuoka:

Phu Quoc Island is just beginning its large-scale tourist development; yes, it is not a completely wild place, but it can hardly be called fully developed. This is precisely why it can attract the attention of travelers who want to see the untouched beauty of wild tropical nature and bask in the sun on half-empty beaches, sometimes even with white sand. Phu Quoc is an island located in the south of Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand.

A great place for a beach holiday in our winter. Here, from the end of November to April, wonderful weather prevails for a relaxing beach holiday. You should not go here from May to October. The sea becomes rough during this period. And streams of water pour from the sky, which at a certain period fill the streets of the city and you almost have to swim through them. This is what it looks like. In this article I will tell you about the beautiful and deserted beaches of Fukuoka Island, where in some places there is even white sand. Sometimes it even looks like something out of a bounty chocolate commercial.

  • The main beach of Phu Quoc Island is Long Beach. it is along it that the bulk of all hotels, cafes, restaurants, and shops are located, and all other beaches need to be reached around the island by bike or taxi.
  • The sea in season (November to April) is mostly calm in the west, warm, clean - a great place for a quiet beach holiday. Sandy gentle entry into the sea. Convenient place to relax with children.
  • The scorching sun can ruin your holiday, if on the first day you go swimming from 11 am to 2 pm without any sunscreen or a cape, but even with protection at this time it is better not to appear in the sun. It’s better not to overdo it with swimming because the sun reflects even more strongly from the water. Sunset is approaching around 18:00 in the evening.
  • Beach fleas and flies are found on beaches in many Asian countries., but don’t be alarmed, their bites can be avoided if you follow the simplest rules. Lie on a mat or chaise lounge. Standing on wet sand in the waves. Move, when walking they will not have time to bite you, fleas are very lazy creatures. About flea and insect bites, Zhenya wrote an article where he tells what local ointments can help relieve itching if you are bitten -
  • All beaches are city beaches and they do not belong to hotels, know this if you are not allowed to go to the sea. There are, of course, expensive hotels with a closed area through which security guards may not allow you to pass. However, no one can stop you from walking on the beach. The phrase “Call police” (call the police) has a sobering effect on them if you are walking along the beach and not breaking into the main gate of the hotel
  • To find these beaches locally, purchase a SIM card with Internet access. Which SIM card and what tariffs to buy in Fukuoka. Use Google map, which shows almost all the beaches of the island.

I wanted to post a separate video for each beach, but I decided that it was better to provide a link to the playlist:

BeachLongBeach(Long Beach)

This beach is located on the western side of the island. Most of the hotels in all of Fukuoka were built in close proximity to it. This is where the entire tourist life of the island takes place, there are many cafes, restaurants, and shops. This is the main densely populated beach of the island. There are a lot of people now. Tourists, service personnel, hotels, the river carrying city garbage - all this does not benefit cleanliness.

Long Beach is quite long with a gently sloping sandy entrance. The sand on it is yellow, and in some places the beach is narrow due to the buildings of various hotels close to the sea. The length of the beach, according to various sources, is from 10 to 15 km. Now Long Beach is divided into many small beaches. For example, the well-known Golden Sand Beach, Episode, Sunset Beach - this is all one Long Beach.

During the high season, with an influx of tourists, Between December and February, biting plankton breed in Fukuoka waters. People have different reactions to it: from light biting to allergic reactions. It is not possible to predict the reaction in advance, but in most cases the itching goes away within 5-10 minutes after leaving the sea. But plankton is not always there, which is very pleasing.

Sun loungers in most places in Fukuoka are paid for, we saw the price of 100 dong (300 rubles) for one day, and free if you live in a hotel on the beach. Compared to Cambodia, it is a bit expensive, because... there, the price for a sun lounger on the beach was the same as buying something in a cafe, it could even be water for $1.

Episode and Golden Sand Beach - part of Long Beach

Since Long Binch is very long (not for nothing it was called that), some parts of it cannot be seen without a vehicle (scooter or taxi). Since 2017, the northern part of the beach (right on the territory of the Sanset Sonato hotel) has become famous for its new project Episode. Here you can see the remains of art objects created by the builders of Kazantip and partially destroyed by the Episode. Access to the beach is paid, but you can enter by water from the Golden Sand Beach bar, as, let me remind you The entire coastline of Fukuoka is urban and cannot be private!

Beach episode coordinates on Google map: https://goo.gl/maps/65NJeFb41XK2

Episode features amazing buildings that have already become a new attraction in Fukuoka. You can see them and capture them on camera, and it’s completely free, you just need to get there. And argue a little with the security, proving that 30 meters of the beach in Vietnam is a public place and cannot be private territory.

Unfortunately, these fish no longer exist - they were demolished along with some other objects

Right behind the fence from Episode there is another interesting beach with an old Zhiguli and many objects for an unusual photo session. This is one of the places in Fukuoka with free sun loungers. This Golden Sand Beach- golden sand beach. Cafe, music and a great place for a sunset:

Finding the beach on a Google map is also not difficult: https://goo.gl/maps/Pj6hgrnULY92

Also quite a nice place with beach parties - This is Sunset Beach. It houses a bar of the same name, where daily performances by Vietnamese and foreign DJs are held. Prices in the bar are slightly higher than the city average, but quite normal for the beach. Free sun loungers and a relaxed atmosphere

Bai Sao Beach (Sao Beach orBaiSao)

To get to Bai Sao beach you need to go to the south of the island, approximately 20-25 km from the city of Duong Dong. You can rent a scooter, or take a taxi (by the way, a taxi costs 8,000-10,000 dong for 1 km). The main road leading to it is of good quality, but the last 2 km at the exit is a completely bad dirt road. It was very uncomfortable to ride a bike because of the piled-up stones, and taxi drivers and buses were constantly overtaking us and raising dust. Therefore, if you go there once, just to see the beach, it is better to choose a taxi, but if difficulties do not frighten you, then:

The first impression of the beach is amazing:

  • The snow-white sand hurts your eyes
  • blue bay (everything as advertised)
  • palm trees with swings hanging on them

I have never seen such a beautiful beach.

Coordinates of Bai Sao beach in Fukuoka on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/wjY3ppYMjXN2

However, upon closer inspection, Bai Sao Beach is not at all deserted. Several hotels stand on it and guests sunbathe on sun loungers. Other tourists constantly come from different parts of the island to see and capture the beauty of the beach. Therefore, taking a photo on the swing turns into a small queue, because everyone wants a great shot on such an amazing beach. By the way, they will charge you 20,000 dong for the swing, but you can do without the fees.

There is some rubbish in the bushes between the hotels and in the tidal wave which really spoils the view. The dirt is usually cleaned up by hotel workers, but during the high season the sea throws up new garbage every day. Perhaps you should come to this beach early in the morning to enjoy the peace and tranquility. You can also go a little to the side or stop by the neighboring Paradise Beach - more about it below.

The sea seemed transparent due to the white sand, although it was exciting that day. Our guys also stayed to sunbathe in the shade, and they were badly bitten by midges.

We wouldn’t live here on the outskirts; apart from a couple of hotels and a cafe, there’s nothing else here. There is no infrastructure, this is a place for short-term relaxation and self-immersion, but many residents of megacities strive for this, for a two-week solitude from the whole world. This is the review recently left by guests of Bai Sao Beach in Fukuoka:

Firstly, the road is personally from us, and we are online - it costs about 500,000, secondly, these most popular swings are paid, each for 20,000, while no one is there - of course you can take a quick photo. But if you approach, a ton of negativity will fall on you, like “no, don’t sit here, you can’t sit here,” and just almost forcefully kick you out of there. The sea is dirty, when you walk along the beach you have diapers and dead fish under your feet. When you sit on the beach (and you can’t sit everywhere, unless you rent a sun lounger for 100,000), you are driven from a good place to a dirty one, where even an old toothbrush is lying on the sand. Small children walk around with garbage bags, saying they are collecting garbage, and asking for money, just like in the Indian slums. In general, I don’t even have words

Paradiso Beach – Paradiso Restaurant

But this is truly a paradise beach. The beach is located next to the hotel territory. You can walk through calmly, leaving the bike in the parking lot - the cost is 100,000 dong. But with this money you can order yourself a cocktail at the bar, so in essence it’s just a deposit. The sand here is the same pure white, but unlike Bai Sao:

  • the beach here is regularly cleaned and cleaned very well
  • swings are free
  • no beggars
  • clean shower and toilet

Bai Ong Lang (BaiOngLang)

The beach lies north of the town of Duong Dong on the west coast of the island. There are also cafes and bars here; you wouldn’t dare call it secluded; in some ways it resembles Long Beach. However, all the beaches here are good, each in its own way.

Back in the 2018 season, it could be recommended for a quiet family holiday with children. But now there is construction almost everywhere in this area. A bit noisy. Some beaches were closed to guests. In general, the area is still better, since it is located above the river, so there is much less dirt in the water. Biting plankton also rarely appears here.

Coordinates of the central beach of On Lang on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/quYB62N6DwL2

However, vacationers and guests of Phu Quoc Island also prefer neighboring beaches, for example the beach of the Mango Bay Hotel, where tourists are freely allowed. How does the beach enviably differ from the city limits of Long Beach, where not every hotel welcomes guests?

.

Bai Vung Bau

This beach is located north of the city of Duong Dong, approximately 10-12 km, you cannot get there on foot, a taxi or bike will help you with this. Having driven towards it from the main road, we realized that it was far away, and the road was not particularly good, we had to walk on gravel and such red earth.
The hotels are located far from the beach, so there are not many guests here, everyone comes, whoever uses what - scooters, taxis or bicycles.

At the same time, it is not crowded, there is one cafe on it with its own sun loungers and an offer to sit there and order something tasty; probably, when ordering, they will not ask you to pay for the sun lounger itself. However, no one bothers you to move to one side and sit in the shade of the trees.

Bai Dai Beach (Bai Dai Beach)

You can get to this beach before reaching the Vinperl water park, because... then everything was blocked and closed by the park and hotel construction before it. If you mark a point on the map and approach just to this construction site of a large hotel in front of the park, turn onto the paved road to the left (if you are coming from Zuon Dong), along which you can get to the beach not so far.

Approaching the beach, we saw on the right hand the landscaped territory of some hotel, and on the left there was no one, however, a little later, builders began to arrive, apparently from the same construction site, to swim and relax. Perhaps if you arrive there in the morning, there will be no one else there and you can sunbathe and swim as you please. The entry into the sea at the time of our arrival seemed very shallow, we had to walk further to swim, while there are trees on the shore, under which there is shade.

Bai Gan Dau (GanhDauBeach)

This beach is located in the upper part of the island on the northwestern coast, from the city of Duong Dong it is about 27-29 km away.

You drive along a straight road past a Vietnamese village and find yourself on this beach, it is quite small in size, there are many fishing boats, there is a cafe, but when we were there it was dirty, we didn’t stay on it, took a photo and left. From this beach you can see several islands of Cambodia; in the photo below they can be seen in the distance. If you drive a little further, along the same road, you can see a Buddhist temple.

Beach coordinates on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/HDdsMqRuZoK2

Bai Rush Vem (BaiRachVem)

This is one of the most popular distant beaches. It’s worth coming here to admire the beautiful starfish, of which there are quite a lot. Therefore, Starfish Beach has become a must-see during. And hundreds of tourists come every day by taxi and bike to see starfish. This is the second most famous beach on Fukuoka Island (right behind Bai Sao).

Coordinates of the beach with starfish in Fukuoka on the Google map: https://goo.gl/maps/PG5WDDXVL3U2

It’s just better to go to the left along the beach so that it’s clean, because... When we arrived, we saw where the cafes were, it was very dirty. And when we moved a little further away we were able to enjoy the stunning view of the sea, starfish, and palm trees.

Bai Thom

The drive to this beach is approximately 36 km. from the city of Duong Dong to the northeast of the island, although there is a cafe here, the beach itself seemed deserted. By the way, the Cambodian coast is also perfectly visible from here.

A great place to sunbathe in what your mother gave birth to and do all sorts of different pranks right in the shade under a palm tree. The main thing is not to forget to lie on a towel or blanket, remember about fleas, I think on a deserted beach they will be happy with your naked body. Closer to the right end of the beach, you can walk across the bridge to the nearest island to admire the wildlife.

Bai Khem (KhemBeach)

This beach is located on the southeastern side of Phu Quoc Island. On the larger area of this beach there is an expensive Mariot hotel, the minimum cost of a room per day will cost 27 -30 rubles. Security does not allow access to the beach through the hotel. Just now, in our chat about Fukuoka, they suggested that for a deposit of $25 you can calmly walk around the territory and along the beach. The deposit can be spent both in the bar and in the restaurant.

And if you want to get to the free part of the beach, you will have to leave the road and drive through the wild wilderness, but it’s worth it, there you can sunbathe and swim to your heart’s content.

Beach coordinates on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/J5e4tmfEsaS2

And finally, the most beautiful sunset, of which there are an amazing variety and you can admire them almost every day during the warm season.

The first stormy days of November again made me dream about the past summer. In moments of such moods, I always do something extraordinary, for example, I remind management about the accumulated time off and demand that they let me go to the lands of the warm sun and gentle sea.

My job does not allow me to go on vacation in the summer, so my destiny is a beach holiday in southern tropical countries. For the past few years, my friend and I have been basking in the sun in hospitable and exotic Vietnam at the end of autumn. So why change your habits.

The bliss of fashionable and well-lived hotels has already been well studied by us. I wanted to add a few notes of extreme sports to the upcoming trip. Why not explore the still virgin corners of outlandish Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand region.

Our attention was drawn to one of the new destinations in the tourism industry - Phu Quoc Island. It cannot be fully said about this southern territory of the country that no human has ever set foot here. The enchanting tropical beauty of this corner attracts more and more tourists to its domain. And yet, the beaches of Fukuoka are still half empty; here you can spend a romantic vacation of a completely secluded nature.

Phu Quoc: which beach to choose?

We did not tempt fate and first booked a hotel near the most popular beach of the southern island - the sandy kingdom of Long Beach. The desired Long Beach is at this historical moment the center of the tourist universe of Fukuoka and the corner with the most developed infrastructure on the island.

As soon as the first snow timidly falls on the ground in the winter latitudes of our planet, the first fans of the “eternal” summer begin to flock to the velvet sandy beach. Our comfort neighbors were 2 Russian families with kids about 5-6 years old. I’ll say right away that the optimal choice of this particular beach for a holiday with children is quite obvious.

On the very first day of our vacation, we were greeted by a warm sea and gentle sun, the climatic conditions were very pleasant, and the gentle entrance into the water towards the embrace of the sea gave swimming additional charm.

The next day showed that the weather on the island has many faces. Even in the morning, the guide at the hotel talked about how the season of heavy rains and constant rough seas ended just a couple of weeks ago. The period of the year from May to mid-autumn is considered not quite a resort here. Often the shower of rain streams turns out to be too dense, and the sea demonstrates its obstinate character almost every day.

But this day we were able to set a record for tanning, however, in the evening the fact became completely clear that it is better to earn a chocolate shade for the skin gradually. From now on, we stopped going out in the sun after 11 am, and only allowed ourselves to go to the beach after 2 pm in the company of sunburn remedies.

Long Beach Phu Quoc: opinions and doubts

© runnerone / flickr.com / CC BY 2.0

After 3 days in Fukuoka, we summed up some preliminary results of our new discoveries:

  • Long Beach is not only the most important tourist beach in Fukuoka, but also the most equipped, and the longest, 20 km - this is no joke;
  • along the entire length of the territory, beach areas lie under the jurisdiction of the city administration; we only managed to encounter closed VIP zones a couple of times;
  • the presence of completely different numbers of tourists on the beach on different days turned out to be unpredictable, we decided to classify this as a local mystery;
  • walking voyages along the beach area in both directions allowed us to find several completely deserted corners, which we took advantage of for skinny dipping;
  • the yellow silk of sand is framed almost everywhere by spreading coke palms, at the foot of which lush green grass grows;
  • exploration of the northern part of the beach gave us wonderful finds in the form of a collection of Asian cafes and restaurants, here we paid absolute tribute to the delights of hearty Vietnamese cuisine;
  • a densely populated network of mini-hotels, catering establishments, hotels and bars with soft drinks is located on the trajectory of the asphalt highway towards the city of Duong Dong.

Among the unpleasant discoveries, we noted the invasion of lazy, but rather annoying fleas. The occupation of Vietnam's beaches is their favorite habitat. The methods of dealing with impudent insects turned out to be simple: beach fleas do not cross the boundaries of the mat, do not have time to attack while walking and do not like wet sand. So we learned to deal with them pretty quickly.

One of the days we were in Vietnam, we decided to go to Bai Vong Beach. We remember it because it was the first coastal area of the island that we approached on a passenger boat during a transfer from the mainland. Hotels in the Bai Wong beach area have not yet been built, but a tourist future is predicted for this area. While the exotic corner is famous for its restaurants, which use fresh seafood catches to prepare culinary delights.

Lovers of marine fauna come to the beach to admire the riot of colors of jellyfish that abundantly populate the shallow waters in calm weather. A close acquaintance with transparent creatures was not part of our plans, so we did not swim at Bai Wong Beach. But we paid tribute to the abundant feast in one of the restaurants and we can speak with full responsibility about the skill of local culinary specialists.

The most beautiful beaches of Fukuoka

If we make a conditional gradation of the numerous beaches of Fukuoka, then we remember the old story about a monkey who could not decide which relatives to join: smart or beautiful. We cannot call the sandy fiefdoms of the island smart; we have not tested them for this quality. But we will call some of them especially beautiful with complete confidence that we are right. We visited some of these corners ourselves, others were told to us by our neighbors at a table in our hotel restaurant.

Bai Sao Phu Quoc Beach (aka Sao Beach or Bai Sao)

© / flickr.com / CC BY 2.0

A refuge of snow-white sand, smoothly turning into small tropical groves. From the town of Duong on the southeastern coast of Phu Quoc, we took a taxi, quickly overtaking the scooters and bikes of other tourists. The last 2 km of the total road of 25 km, we were more than once glad that we were traveling by car.

The picture of the beach that opens up to your eyes at the first moment plunges you into complete shock from the magnificence you see. The turquoise bay contrasts with the white sand, the swings on palm trees bowing in a hospitable bow make one think of oriental fairy tales.

Looking ahead, I can safely say that our photos from this place of riotous natural luxury turned out to be the most colorful. During the way back to our place of residence, we even argued that accommodation on the island should have been chosen in this paradise oasis. The question is controversial. Bai Sao is very popular among tourists all over the world and you definitely won’t find peaceful solitude there.

We can only tell you about the beauty of Bai Khem beach from hearsay. The Bai Khem region is under the control of Vietnamese military units. Curious tourists are not welcomed here; few of Fukuoka's guests can boast of a long stay in this area.

Ong Lang Phu Quoc Beach (Bai Ong Lang)

For tourists who prefer to stay in premium hotels, elite resorts near Ong Lang Beach are suitable. In the center of the island's west coast, both fashionable accommodation facilities and more modest accommodation facilities are concentrated.

The legendary Mango Bay Resort hotel gathers lovers of tropical nature who value a high level of service. Near the beach there is developed infrastructure similar in its content to Long Beach. Hotels and guest houses, bars, cafes and restaurants complement the charm of a tropical paradise and the overall package of beach pleasures.

Bai Vung Bau Beach

© colorfulfoxes / flickr.com / CC BY 2.0

The unusually shaped beach resembling the crescent of Bai Bung Bao has become a nirvana for nudists and topless sunbathers. Getting to the Bai Vung Bau property is not easy: a dirt road, 12 km on foot under the hot sun is not an option for this situation, the only salvation is local transport. The calm surface of the sea, the tall growth of thick grass, the pleasant velvet of snow-white grains of sand are a gift to those who still decide to come here. There are many secluded clearings on the beach, and cozy restaurants specializing in fish and seafood dishes are scattered along the territory.

Bai Dai Beach Phu Quoc, Vietnam (Bai Dai)

The neighbor of the previous beach on the north side was Bai Dai Beach. This section of the northwestern coast of the island is distinguished by its decent length, special shade of turquoise sea waters, sandy shallow waters - a safe zone for those who are still learning to swim.

An important sign for us on the way here was the road to the iconic Vietnamese amusement park Vinperl. Just before reaching the legendary water park, we just found ourselves on the territory of Bai Dai Beach.

Having had plenty of fun in the shallow waters of Bai Dai beach, we went to one of the nearby cafes and sat for a long time in the shady coolness of tropical plants over a cup of aromatic coffee and sandwiches with fish filling.

Fukuoka beaches with the least people

Among tourists there are many representatives who prefer to spend their holidays away from noisy entertainment and large crowds of people. Phu Quoc Island, like no other place on the planet, gives travelers interested in peace this opportunity. The island has a whole galaxy of deserted beaches that provide shelter for lonely travelers or small groups.

Fukuoka's collection of deserted beaches consists of several gems:

Bai Gan Dau Beach

© nguyentrung / flickr.com / CC BY 2.0

Bai Gan Dau Beach is located some distance from the main tourist trails in the north of the island. The highlight of the area is the Peppercorn Beach Hotel. The magnificent Ganh Dau Beach hides its charms near one of the Vietnamese fishing villages. The easiest way to recognize the snow-white kingdom of sand on the shores of blue sea lands is by the accumulation of fishing equipment. In good weather, a series of Cambodian islands can be seen from the shore. In a remote region there is a majestic temple, built far from human eyes for solitary prayers to Buddha.

Bai Rach Vem

Bai Rush Vem beach is known in tourist circles as a habitat for colorful starfish. The appearance of the corner is similar to many other beach spots in Phu Quoc, and only seasoned travelers know the secret of Bai Rach Vem Beach. Scientists come here from all over the world to study the habits and character of the bizarre marine inhabitants.

Bai Thom

Cashew nut plantations line the tranquil area called Bai Thom Beach. You can only drive here along the island's country roads, and the lucky ones may have the opportunity to witness the sea's low tides. As with the other remote beaches listed above, the path here lies from the city of Duong Dong.

Phu Quoc, located in the calm waters of the Gulf of Thailand, is the largest island Vietnam and home to the best beaches in the country. But this does not mean that they are all equally good. The range here is extremely wide - from a piece of paradise to a garbage dump.

On the mainland of Vietnam, many try to visit one of the best beaches in Vietnam - Do Do Let. On Fukuoka the choice of places to relax will be greater: sandy and rocky, equipped and wild, with developed infrastructure and completely unsuitable for a beach holiday.

You can find and book an inexpensive tour to Vietnam using the following services: And . The search for tours is carried out using databases of 130 tour operators online. Compare prices, choose the best options. You don't have to go to a travel agency office to arrange a trip.

Tourism industry on Fukuoka is now developing at an accelerated pace - a new international airport has opened, additional ferry terminals are being built, the world's leading hotel chains have begun building hotels.

For the foreseeable future, beaches Fukuoka will apply to certain hotels, and some of them will probably be cleaner and better equipped. In the meantime, 150 km of coastline make it possible to find a corner for every taste.

Fukuoka beaches

On Fukuoka The most famous are 10 beaches, which differ markedly from each other in the level of comfort, development of tourist infrastructure and cleanliness.

Bai Dai Beach

Dai Beach located in the northwest of the island Phu Quoc. Just a few years ago, this was one of the most untouched beaches in the world, and now one of the best chain hotels in Vietnam is located here - Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort 5*.

True, this will not prevent you, if you wish, from finding secluded areas of the beach with untouched nature.

Beach Bai Dai still clean, covered with yellow, loose sand. The most deserted idyllic sections of the beach are located closer to the beach and opposite Turtle Island (Hon Doi Moi Island).

Diving and snorkeling enthusiasts go to Turtle Island (Hon Doi Moi Island) - there is a famous dive site here.

The sea here is warm, with a gentle slope, without currents, with water of various shades from blue to green. The beach strip is not wide; in some areas, casaurina (aeolian tree) comes close to the beach.

Beach Dai Beach Ideal for children and non-swimmers.

There are small restaurants along the shore in the village Ganh Dau(with still low prices).

Vung Bau Beach

Vung Bau one of the least crowded beaches - apart from a couple of small restaurants you will not find anything here. It is located south of the beach.

The beach is about 4.5 km long and is lined with tall grass, palm trees and casaurina trees.
The sea here is calm during the dry season and quite aggressive during the rainy season. The entrance to the water is gentle with gradually increasing depth.

Not only starfish, shells, but also sea urchins are not uncommon on this beach, so be careful and watch your step.

Close to the beach Vung Bau There are several small hotels (you can also have a snack there):

  • Bamboo Cottages(with its own private beach, luxury rooms)
  • Vung Bau Resort(amazing beach + reasonable price)
  • Mai Phuong Phu Quoc Resort(comfortable beach + reasonable price)

Ong Lang Beach

Beach Ong Lang is located on the west coast of the island between the village of Ganh Dau and the main city of the island - Duong Dong.

Ong Lang noticeably different from other beaches: the beach strip here is periodically interrupted by sections of rocks and stones. Here you can watch not only the most beautiful sunsets on the west coast of the island, but also numerous fishing boats crossing the cow beach.

The beach is covered with light yellow loose sand, fairly clean (hotel staff regularly cleans their areas), and is bordered by palm trees and casaurina trees.

The sea here is transparent, green-blue, calm, with a gentle entry into the water; at the beginning of the high season (November - December) there may occasionally be jellyfish.

Along the beach Ong Lang There are quite a lot of small hotels, guest houses, restaurants, and fast food outlets. If you need more variety in restaurants and shops, then go to Duong Dong - 15 minutes and you are there.

Ganh Dau Beach

Beach Gan Bau Beach is located at the northern tip of Phu Quoc Island, near the village of Ganh Dau. Gan Bau Beach It has the shape of a horseshoe, is surrounded by forests, and covered on both sides by low mountains.

The sand on the beach is yellow, with a significant admixture of ground corals. The sea here is calm, inhabited by various living creatures (thanks to the presence of corals and stones) - if you wish, you can watch crabs, shellfish, and various fish. Opposite the beach you can see the Cambodian coast (Mount Ta Lon). Nearby are Phu Quoc National Park and Nguyen Trung Truc Temple, which are worth a visit.

Right on the beach Gan Bau Beach there are two restaurants where you can taste seafood or national Vietnamese cuisine (meals start from 100,000VND). In the village itself, you can taste traditional Vietnamese dishes for VND 35,000. As of March 2016, there was not a single working ATM here.

There are no hotels on the beach, but you can stay at Ganh Dau.

Sao & Khem Beaches (Bai Sao and Bai Khem)

Beach Sao Beach is located in the southeast of the island, 7 km from the town of An Thoi. This is one of the best beaches not only in Vietnam, but in all of Southeast Asia.

Sao Beach is famous for its white sand - very reminiscent of the beaches of the Caribbean.

The best section of the beach is next to the restaurant Paradiso(previously called “No Problem”). In the southern part of the beach the sand is yellow, rougher, and it’s difficult to call the beach clean. A few years ago it was perfect, but now you can see the consequences of its popularity - some areas are covered with garbage.

The sea here has a characteristic turquoise hue and is shallow (to a depth of more than 100 m).

In the sea you can see many young fish, crustaceans, and sometimes squid; in September - October there are many starfish off the coast.

Today at the beach Sao Beach you will find many restaurants, bars, small hotels, tour desks, boat and kayak rentals, windsurfing and kitesurfing centers.

Beach Bai Hem located next door, famous for its white sand. Until 2014, this part of the island was closed to tourists (there were military installations here). Now access is free, but contrary to what is written about the beach on the Internet, it cannot be considered comfortable: the coastal waters are rich in fish, shrimp, anchovies, and this has led to the fact that the largest fish market is located here. Anyone who has been to similar markets in Vietnam at least once knows that there is no need to talk about cleanliness here.

In the near future, the authorities plan to close the fish market here and repurpose the beach exclusively for tourism.

Long Beach

Long Beach this is the epicenter of a beach holiday in Fukuoka - 20 km of golden sand, turquoise sea and magnificent sunsets.

The beach is located on the west coast of the island, just 10 minutes drive from the international airport. It is comfortable here to sunbathe, swim, engage in water sports, relax and simply bask in the sun.

There are numerous hotels, restaurants, and shops along the entire beach. Merchants right on the beach will offer you drinks, fruits, and seafood.

The beach is conventionally divided into 2 parts: northern and southern.

North Long Beach It is 5 km long, starts at the Eden Resort Hotel (in Duong Dong, near the new airport) and ends at the rocks next to the Trang An Phu Quoc Hotel.

South Long Beach stretches for 15 km, includes a series of small local beaches (Xep Beach, Dai Do Beach, Duong Co Beach, Duong Xanh Beach, and Vuon Dua Beach). It is not so crowded here, the infrastructure is somewhat less developed than in the northern part. This is a place to go for those looking for peace and quiet.

Sparsely populated southern part of the beach Long Beach This is a temporary phenomenon - large-scale construction of large tourist complexes begins here (construction is planned to be completed by 2020).

Rach Tram & Rach Vem Beaches

Both beaches are located in the north of the island, surrounded by tropical jungle. The beaches are rarely visited by tourists - the roads leading to them are unpaved, the tourist infrastructure is not developed, luxurious nature and heaps of garbage on the shore in the form of broken boats, old nets, plastic boxes, etc. In general, these beaches are waiting for the owner's hand.

Thom Beach

Thom Beach located in the north of the island - a very quiet and calm beach, surrounded by cashew thickets (hazelnut). You can only get here along a dirt road; the infrastructure here is poorly developed, but there are still a few inexpensive hotels.

Sea near the beach Thom Beach shallow, noticeable low tides.

In the future, it is planned to build a tourist center here.

Cua Can Beach

Beach Cua Can Beach is located on the west coast of the island between the beaches in the south and in the north. At this point, the Kua Kan River flows into the Gulf of Thailand, forming many shallows with thickets of casuarina. This place is not suitable for swimming, except for small sections of the beach.

Vong Beach

Beach Wong Beach the first one that guests see when arriving on the island by water: here is the ferry terminal where they arrive from the mainland. It is 8 km from the capital of the island, Doung Dong, and Ham Ninh village is nearby.

The surrounding nature looks much nicer than the beach itself, especially considering that two additional berths are currently under construction.

The sea here is shallow, and jellyfish are often found. It is unlikely that you will have the desire to rent housing in this part of the island, but it is quite possible to try seafood.

Fukuoka Hotel Map

(by moving the map with your mouse, you can see hotels along the entire coast)

In this post I’ll tell you about the best beaches in Fukuoka and make my personal rating of the beaches. Also here you will find tips on choosing a place to come on vacation and a map of Fukuoka beaches in Russian.

Overall, Phu Quoc is a beautiful tropical island, but it has its own quirks. Firstly, tourism here began to develop quite recently and at a very fast pace, which is why there is construction and dust and dirt in many places. This is no longer a tropical paradise, where you are alone with nature, although in general the ecology is good - there are no industries. Secondly, there is a real problem with garbage and sewage; the Vietnamese seem to have not yet figured out where to put it with the influx of a large number of people. Yes, if the beach is looked after by the staff of a nearby hotel, it will be simply gorgeous. And if it’s no man’s territory, then all the garbage will be shoveled there.

I think a few years will pass and Phu Quoc will turn into the main resort of Vietnam (like Phuket in Thailand, where tourism has been developing for a long time). Until that happens, you have the opportunity to enjoy the almost empty beaches of this island. And I’ll tell you which beach in Fukuoka to choose.

Phu Quoc's best beaches are mainly located on its western, northern and northwestern sides, but there are two gorgeous spots worth visiting on the east coast. These are the small beaches of Sao and Kem. They are small, but very picturesque!

Sao Beach

A cozy bay about one and a half kilometers long with incredibly white sand, fine as flour. There are truly heavenly landscapes here, curved palm trees on the shore, mountains around, covered with tropical forest...

Bai Sao is considered the most beautiful beach in Phu Quoc and is the hallmark of the island. All the more surprising are the piles of garbage that are found in some places along the beach. Apparently, the winds and currents here are such that garbage washes ashore during certain seasons.

Plus add to this the crowds of people who come on their own or on an excursion, jet skis, bananas and all the attributes of a popular beach. So don’t expect a straight bounty from Sao Beach. The best part of it is on the left side at the very edge of the bay.

The entrance to the water is gentle, but there are small waves, but the water is very warm - the kids will love it. On the shore there are several beach cafes with inflated prices (it is better to buy food in advance at the store located at the turn from the main road to the beach), toilet, shower, you can rent sun loungers and an umbrella (100 thousand dong). It’s better to arrive in the morning: firstly, it’s not hot, and secondly, the tourists haven’t arrived yet :)

There are no hotels on the first line on Bai Sao, everything is a little further inland, but I don’t recommend spending a vacation here either.

Bai Kem

Bai Kem Beach is located just south of Bai Sao and is a bay just under a kilometer long. There is now an active construction of luxury hotels here with all the ensuing consequences; getting to the beach is not so easy (according to the latest reviews, only guests of hotels on the shore can now get to the beach).

In general, Bai Kem has the same white sand, the same picturesque palm trees on the shore, but there are no people. But all this beauty is available only to hotel guests. In the meantime, while active construction is underway, I do not recommend settling there. even if there is such a possibility.

Long Beach

Long Beach is the most developed beach in Fukuoka. Its length is about 20 kilometers, so everyone will find a place for themselves. The part north of the airport and up to the city of Duong Dong is more developed; along the road there you will find all the tourist infrastructure in the form of cafes, restaurants, travel agencies, ATMs, hotels. The part south of the airport is just under construction, and although luxury hotels with large territories have already appeared there, otherwise you will be on the outskirts with the accompanying construction landscape.

Long Beach has medium-sized golden sand, a gentle entrance to the water (a little sharper in some places), the purity of the sea water depends on the waves and weather. During the calm there was clear water here.

Unfortunately, in some places there is garbage and the sewage flows straight into the sea.

The advantage of Long Beach is the proximity to the city of Duong Dong, where there is a night market, a fish market and several temples. And in general, it’s interesting to look at the life of a small Vietnamese town. But you should still choose a hotel a little further from the city; a good beach starts from Saigon Phu Quoc Resort & Spa and further south.

Long Beach

In my opinion, Long Beach is the best beach in Phu Quoc for a vacation. Yes, it may be a little less picturesque than Bai Sao or Ong Lang, but it’s still quite cozy. Plus, the developed infrastructure compensates for some of the disadvantages. You can easily find a bungalow on the first line and enjoy your vacation.

Ong Lang Beach

A cool long beach north of the town of Duong Dong, it can be divided into several sections, with rocky capes between them. Here, perhaps, the cleanest water we have encountered on all the beaches of Fukuoka.

Ong Lang has fine light sand, which is pleasant to walk on. The most picturesque section of the beach is located near the Coco Palm Beach Resort & Spa.

The big advantage of this beach is the almost complete absence of tourists; there are also many cool hotels on the first line, all of the bungalow type. A chic place for newlyweds and lovers of tranquility!

The infrastructure is quite poorly developed, a little further in towards the main road you will find cafes and restaurants, otherwise the place is village-style quiet.

Cua Can Beach

The beach is located next to the river of the same name, which flows into the sea. Rafting on the Cua Can River is a popular activity among tourists.

The beach is almost wild, there are no tourists, only some locals. Nearby there are some creeks and estuaries, and a small community lives. It might be a little dirty. There are only a couple of hotels in the surrounding area, and a few cafes along the way from the main road. Suitable for those who like complete privacy :)

Vung Bau Beach

The southern part of the bay can only be accessed through the territory of some hotel; we were in the northern part, the one closer to the cape.

Clean and remote beach, quite picturesque. The coastline is narrow, there are almost no people, only those who came here specifically by bike or taxi, and a few guests of local bungalows. The entrance to the water is gentle, the water is very clean and transparent, there are sun loungers and a tire on a rope instead of a swing :)

There are several bungalow hotels on Vung Bau, all on the first line. You can only eat in the hotel cafes.

A chic beach at the five-star Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc. This hotel is a whole city with many buildings, villas, bungalows, swimming pools, golf courses, spa centers, gyms, a huge green, well-groomed area, along which tuk-tuks ply. Vinpearl Land is nearby and the hotel also provides free airport transfers.

Bai Dai Beach

Bai Dai Beach has fine yellow sand, the entrance to the water is gentle, and the sea is very clean, which is why a holiday here is ideal for families with children.

Gan Dau

The village of Gan Dau is located in the extreme north-west of Phu Quoc, from here it is literally a few kilometers to the Cambodian islands, they are clearly visible from the shore.

On the western side there is a beautiful but dirty beach with cafes on the shore and many boats in the water. Mostly locals eat here.

If you drive through the village (on the way you will pass a rather smelly fish market) and go to the northern coast near the Peppercorn Beach resort, there will be a nice beach there. During our visit, the water was not very clear, but there was almost no one there.

Pacification

Phu Quoc starfish beach

The beach near the village of Rat Vem is also called the beach with starfish. One of the best beaches in Fukuoka and well worth the trip. It is known primarily for its marine life, with which you can take a memorable photo.

And you can sunbathe here, white sand, clean water and a gentle entrance to the sea are good attributes and help in this matter. I recommend going only in the high season (from November to April); according to reviews, at other times there is a lot of algae and garbage that no one cleans up, plus the dirt road washes out after rain. Also, move as far to the right as possible, there are fewer people there and a better chance of seeing starfish.

There is a restaurant on a wooden platform over the water with inflated prices, no more infrastructure.
