Faliraki Rhodes holidays

The beautiful resort area of Faliraki has become today the largest and most popular beach resort on the island of Rhodes. If we consider it from the point of view of administrative division, the resort is actually part of the village of Kalitis, which is located at a distance of approximately 1 km from the area where the hotels are located.

Faliraki as a residential area in Rhodes was founded in the late sixties of the last century, at that time there were only a few small taverns in the beach area, where Greek visitors and local fishermen frequented. There were no tourists here - there was an agricultural area around it, where grapes, figs and tomatoes were grown, and fishing was done on the coast.

However, in the early seventies, the first tourists from Europe began to visit Faliraki, and a few years later, thanks to the beautiful, very long sandy beach, thousands of vacationers began to flock to the Mediterranean coast of Rhodes in the Faliraki area, and mass construction of hotels and apartments began.

Modern Faliraki is a place where cheerful travelers looking for entertainment, those who love a quiet, leisurely holiday, and those who decide to sunbathe with their own small children should go. The resort is full of idle life - music sounds, wine flows like a river, mischievous dancing lights up the eyes. All entertainment places of the resort are open until late in the evening, it is simply impossible to be late here!

During the warmest months of summer - July and August, the central area of Faliraki is crowded with young children brought by their parents on holiday to Rhodes. Ubiquitous little travelers occupy playgrounds, amusement parks, their cheerful noise and din can be heard on the beaches and in the water park...

At the same time, in the resort area of Faliraki there are many quiet bars, cafes and restaurants, cozy corners on the beach for a secluded relaxation.

Young and joyful - the Greek Faliraki will delight you with its attractions, entertainment and prices and will be an excellent holiday destination for every taste!

Brief historical background

The resort is located on the island of Rhodes, a place with a rich history. It is called the “pearl of the Mediterranean.” The island was inhabited by people back in the Neolithic era; Minoans, Mycenaeans, and Greeks lived on it. In ancient times, Rhodes was a rich place and a major port. Then it repeatedly passed from the hands of Muslims to the hands of Christians, belonged to many powers, and in the middle of the last century it became Greek.

As for Faliraki itself, for a long time this settlement was an unremarkable fishing village, where only a few tourists who loved solitude rested. However, the tourism infrastructure in Greece began to develop at a frantic pace, and this clean place was considered promising - then Faliraki became a resort. Currently, there is a perfect combination of what nature has given (the cleanliness of sandy beaches and the sea) and what people have added (an abundance of entertainment for various categories of tourists).

Brief geographical information and climate

The resort is located in the east of the island of Rhodes. The main reason why tourists go to Rhodes in general and Faliraki in particular is for a summer holiday in the healthy Mediterranean climate. The best time to visit the resort is from May to October. During the day, the air temperature is between 24-30 degrees Celsius, and the sea is warmed up to 25 degrees.

The hottest months in Faliraki are July and August, when the air temperature can reach 35 degrees Celsius. This time is suitable for those who can tolerate the heat well and are not afraid of crowds of tourists, because these months are the traditional time for summer holidays. But don't worry too much about the heat: Rhodes has fresh breezes that will make it easier to cope with the high temperatures.

In April and November, a beach holiday in Faliraki is also possible, but it is unlikely to be suitable for lovers of the warm sea and families with small children. During these months, the water does not warm up to more than 20 degrees. Daytime air temperatures are within the same limits.

So, it is definitely worth visiting the ancient Christian temple of St. Nektarios, which is still active today. The building, built from terracotta stone, is not only beautiful in itself, but is also believed to help those suffering from various ailments in healing from them.

Another religious building is the small monastery of the Holy Prophet Amos. It is located at the foot of the cliff, you can get there either on foot or by mini-train that runs around the resort. While walking near the monastery, you can also watch a family of peacocks walking freely around the monastery territory.

  3. Bliss Cocktail & Shisha Bar. Suitable for those who like a more relaxed holiday. Pleasant music, comfortable furniture and a leisurely atmosphere set the mood for several hours with a hookah and drinks.

In addition to nightlife, Faliraki hosts open-air music festivals. The traditional “playground” is Afandou Beach.

During the day in the central part of the city you can stroll through small shops and buy souvenirs. There are also shopping centers here, but you shouldn’t expect miracles from local shopping. What to take with you as a souvenir and as a gift from Faliraki and Rhodes in general? This could be things like:

  • a figurine depicting an ancient god or hero;
  • spices and herbs;
  • icon;
  • silver item - brooch, bracelet or hairpin;

By the way, you should not think that Greek cuisine consists only of vegetables and fruits, as well as olive oil.

While vacationing in Rhodes, you should definitely pay attention to a wide variety of seafood - and remember that Faliraki began as a fishing village.

You can also try meat dishes: capamas (lamb meat with beans from the oven), riffiki (young kid with rice in a pot). Pay attention to the variety of cheeses. It is worth saying that for those who like to travel in an organized manner, Faliraki is a haven: there are excursions here for every taste. ATV tours, yacht cruises, sightseeing - whatever your heart desires. The cost of an individual excursion by car with a guide and driver will be approximately 100-400 euros for two people. You should not neglect visiting the capital of the island, which shares the same name with it. Buses go there approximately every half hour, the journey is not long, you can get there on your own, and as a city, Rhodes deserves attention. The medieval fortress built for the knightly order, the Suleiman Mosque - a reminder of the Turkish conquerors, the New Market - a memory of the rule of the Italians... Rhodes is a colorful and very interesting city, and it’s worth taking a day away from a beach holiday for its sake.

“A quiet Greek is one who can only be heard on the next street.”

It was our 3rd trip, we thought for a very long time where to go and since my husband always dreamed of visiting Greece, we chose one of its wonderful islands - Rhodes.

Greece is an amazing country. It cannot be described in one or two words. Even a story is not enough for this. Therefore, going to write about our Greek holidays, I will divide our holiday into several stories dedicated to specific cities and places, namely: the town of Faliraki and its surroundings; the capital of the island of Rhodes, the city of the same name; the wonderful place of Kallithea Terme; extreme city of Lindos; picturesque Anthony Quinn Beach and Ladiko Bay; and also, I’ll tell you about one excursion, during which we traveled around half of the western coast of the island from Kamiros to Arnisa.

So, the island of Rhodes. It is often called the island of the sun and this is absolutely true, because the sun sets here late in the evening, and the streets are as bright as day until 9 pm. There is an amazing climate, fresh and unpolluted air, a gentle sea with wonderful and picturesque coves and colorful local Greeks.

In this story, I will share with you my impressions of the town of Faliraki.

Faliraki is a small village , or mini town (everyone is called differently), 30 minutes by bus from the capital of the island, the city of Rhodes. We chose this place because there is a large and good beach, in the evening there are many cafes and clubs to choose from, and most importantly, from here you can get to almost anywhere on the island on your own (because we don’t have a driver’s license and we are tied to a bus message). Looking ahead, I will say that we were very pleased with our choice.

So, Faliraki. The flight from Moscow to Rhodes took 3.5 hours . We arrived early in the morning and were very surprised when, upon leaving the plane, there was still no sun (and we arrived at 7 am). But only later we learn that in Rhodes the sun rises late and sets not early either. We were picked up at the airport by the meeting party and everyone was taken to hotels. About our hotel Orion Hotel 3* can be read in a separate review. In general, after staying on the island for 10 days, I still didn’t understand where exactly the village of Faliraki begins and where it ends. There is one main and very long street, on the left side of which there are hotels and the sea, and on the right side there are hotels and taverns. And at a certain point (in the Chaplin beach area) this main street diverges to the right and left into many small streets, which are replete with many different cafes, taverns, hookah bars, strip clubs, karaoke bars and hotels. Our hotel was a 5-minute walk from all this abundance, so we can say that we were practically in the center of this town.

Faliraki beach is wide and long , about 5 kilometers.

One of the most popular resorts on the island of Rhodes at present is the small town or village of Faliraki, located on the east coast of the island, washed by the Mediterranean Sea.

We spent the last week of July 2016 in Rhodes, at this very resort. I honestly admit that the first time I heard this name was at a travel agency, choosing hotels for vacation. Faliraki itself turned into a resort not so long ago, just a few decades ago. Before this, it was a small fishing village, little known to many. But the beautiful beaches, sandy coastline, and beautiful bays did their job, and the village quickly began to gain popularity.

Today it is a resort with a well-developed infrastructure, a huge number of hotels - from cool five-star SPA hotels to small private hotels; there are a huge number of shops, souvenir shops, nightclubs, restaurants, taverns, bars, entertainment centers and so on. In general, everything has been done to ensure that tourists get the maximum experience. It is customary to go or go shopping to the AB supermarket on the northern outskirts of the city, but, frankly, there is not much point in this, since prices in other small supermarkets are almost the same.

Here is also one of the largest water parks in Europe (although the Greeks themselves do not call it that, but call it in the English manner - water park). We didn’t go to the water park, since it’s more of a place for a family holiday with children, and there was no time left, because if you go there, it’s for the whole day, but, according to reviews, you can have a lot of fun there.

Transport Faliraki, how to get there

The town is located between Rhodes (the main city of the island) and Lindos (where the second most important Acropolis in Greece is located after Athens). The distance from Rhodes is 15 kilometers, to the airport – 10 kilometers. For organized tourists using the services of tour operators, transfer to the hotel is provided as always. But in principle, there are no problems with transport here - every half hour there is a direct bus from Rhodes to Lindos and back, there are buses going further south. It is easy to distinguish them from tourist charter buses - they are orange and the destination is indicated on the electronic board. The payment system is simple, as in Russia - you pay the fare at the station or to the driver at the entrance, the cost depends on the distance. So, one ticket to Rhodes costs 2.20 euros, to Lindos – 4.40 euros. A trip on a local bus is full of charm: all buses, despite the terrible heat outside, are cool - air conditioning is on; the bus leisurely drives around local villages and towns, and you admire the scenery around while listening to Greek music.

In addition to buses, you can use a taxi, although the prices are steep. It costs about 5 euros to travel around the city, 20 euros to Rhodes, 50 euros to Lindos, although the distances are short. As a rule, taxis in Rhodes are all good German and Japanese cars: Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen, Toyota. True, it is not always possible to catch a free taxi on the street; it is better to call by phone. We took a taxi to Rhodes, they called a car for us at the reception. But most tourists prefer to rent vehicles - from convertibles to ATVs and scooters. It is both cheaper and more reliable. There are car rental points everywhere on the island; a tour operator (the hotel guide assigned to you) will help you arrange a rental without a deposit (and it’s not small here - up to 500 euros).

Sights of Faliraki

As for historical or architectural attractions, there are none here, except for the modern Church of St. Nektarios located on the main street of the city. This is a large and beautiful building, connected to the bell tower by an arched gallery.

I read that there are two more monasteries in the Faliraki area, but we didn’t come across them along the way, and we didn’t specifically look for them. On the way to Ladiko beach there is some kind of church, but it was not possible to find out what exactly this building is.

Faliraki beaches

The main attraction of Faliraki is the beaches. It was they who made the town the tourist center of the island. The town itself is located along the Mediterranean coast, with a wonderful long sandy beach (4 kilometers). Just outside the city, if you head south, you can see signs for Ladiko and Anthony Quinn beaches. These are wonderfully beautiful bays, also very popular among tourists.

The first view is of Ladiko Bay. There are several hotels nearby, and fruits are sold along the way: there are bags of figs or peaches on a chair, and next to it there is a saucer where you put money. The price is indicated on the piece of paper: a bag of figs (8-9 pieces) - 2 euros, peaches (3-5 depending on size) - 3 euros. The bay is really very beautiful, the water is crystal clear - you can see everything under water, the beach is clean and sandy. The water is very salty with high density, so you can learn to swim here - the water holds very well and is shallow. There is a small bar on the beach where you can buy water, drink an iced fruit smoothie (3 euros) or a milkshake (4 euros), and also have a snack. Prices, of course, are much higher, but this is always the case on popular beaches.

There is a bus stop near Ladiko - a local city bus runs, the price is 1 euro.

A little further there is another beach - Anthony Quinn Bay. It received its name in honor of the famous Hollywood actor who starred in these places in the feature film “Zorba the Greek” in 1964. By the way, the famous melody “Sirtaki” was written specifically for this film, and not at all a Greek folk melody, as most people think. The film was awarded three Oscars. Anthony Quinn was literally amazed by the beauty of the bay and visited here very often later. At that time it was still a very secluded and little-known place. Today there are a lot of vacationers here. There is also a cafe.

As for me, I liked Ladiko beach better. Anthony Quinn Bay is undoubtedly very beautiful, but not very convenient for swimming. The shore is pebbly - it’s inconvenient and even painful to go out, there are a lot of huge boulders, to be honest, when swimming, you’re afraid of catching your foot. Ladiko, in my opinion, is more convenient for swimming, although there are more people on Anthony Quinn Beach, perhaps, having reached it, they simply do not want to return.

Pleasure boats and small yachts regularly enter the bays. There are catamarans and other attributes of marine active recreation, and there are many divers. All beaches are equipped with toilets and showers where you can wash off the salt water and sand. The beaches are clean, there are sunbeds with umbrellas everywhere, but you have to pay for sunbeds, the price is 5 euros per place. For two people we had to pay 10 euros each, but there is a convenient system - the payment applies for the whole day to all the beaches of the city. That is, having paid for sunbeds on one beach in the morning, you can use the same coupons in the evening to borrow sunbeds on other beaches for free.

By the way, there is also a nudist beach here, although we didn’t go to it.

I would also like to add that life here is in full swing around the clock, even more active at night. Faliraki has a firmly established reputation as a youth party resort. There are indeed a lot of young people here from Germany, Italy, France, Eastern European countries and continental Greece. But this does not mean that the city is not suitable for a family holiday, it’s just better to choose a hotel not in the very center, where music plays around the clock, it’s noisy and young people are walking around, but a little away.

In general, the conclusion is this: Faliraki is a good modern resort that is suitable for any type of holiday, relatively inexpensive, which is why European youth who cannot afford Ibiza come here to hang out.

Faliraki (Rhodes) is a unique place where every traveler will find entertainment to his liking. Beach lovers will enjoy the small town, located 14 km south of the island’s capital of the same name, with bright sunshine, a coastline covered with golden sand and calm waters. Active tourists here will also not be able to get bored - since the beginning of the 21st century, the city has been continuously built up with new restaurants and nightclubs that enliven it in the dark.

Faliraki is a young resort in Greece, so it is perfect for those who prefer a comfortable holiday with all the amenities. The city is permanently home to only a few thousand people who are lucky enough to wake up every morning to the sound of the Mediterranean Sea. More than 2 million tourists visit Rhodes every year.

Where are the best beaches of Faliraki? Where can you go with children, and where do you spend the hottest nights? Answers to all questions about holidays in Faliraki are in this article.

What to do: entertainment and attractions

The village of Faliraki is the pearl of the island of Rhodes. Some of the best shopping centers in Greece, a huge water park, chic restaurants and bustling cafes are built here. Despite the fact that the resort is quite young, there are also historical attractions.

A week is not enough to see all the beautiful places in the city. Therefore, if your time is limited, first of all pay attention to the following attractions of Faliraki.

The only café-observatory in all of Greece is located on a mountain next to Anthony Queen Bay. Here you can not only learn a lot about space, look through a telescope at the Moon and stars or play with astronomical toys, but also enjoy the view of the beaches of Faliraki.

Entrance to the cafe and observatory is free, but every visitor must buy something - be it coffee or a full lunch. The establishment constantly plays music, serves refreshing cocktails and delicious crepes. The average price of a dessert with a drink is 2-4 euros. An interesting place for little travelers.

Exact address: profit ammos area, Apollonos. Opening hours: daily from 18 to 23.

Important! It is physically difficult to get to the astronomical cafe on foot; we advise you to go there by car.

The young church, built in 1976, amazes with its beauty. The entire complex consists of a temple and a bell tower made of terracotta-colored stone, inside there are spectacular frescoes and unusual paintings, in front of the temple there is a small area lined with pebble patterns.

The two-story Church of St. Nektarius is a smaller “sister” of the temple of the same name located in Rhodes. This is a functioning Orthodox cathedral with landscaped grounds, where church music is often played and services are held. As in all temples in Greece, here you can use scarves and skirts for free, light a candle for a voluntary donation, drink and wash with sacred water from the source before entering.

Usually the church has few travelers, but on weekends, especially Sundays, there are many parishioners with small children. The temple is open daily from 8 am to 10 pm (from 12 to 18 siesta), exact location– Faliraki 851 00.

Advice! If you want to take spectacular photos of the temple, come here in the evening, when the church staff turns on the multi-colored lights.

Water park

The largest in Greece and the only one in all of Rhodes the water park is located in the northern part of the city at Rhodes 851 00. Its total area reaches 100,000 m2, the entrance price is 24 euros for an adult, 16 € for children.

The water park has more than 15 slides for visitors of different ages, a wave pool and a water playground. In addition, there are all the amenities for a comfortable stay and various establishments: a cafe (burger - 3 €, French fries - 2.5 €, 0.4 liters of beer - 3 €), supermarket, free toilets and showers, sun loungers, luggage storage (6€ deposit, 4€ returned along with things), beauty salon, souvenir shop. This is a great place for an active holiday with the whole family.

Working hours: from 9:30 to 18 (in summer until 19). Opens in early May, closes with the end of the beach season in Greece - in October. The best time to visit is in the summer, since strong winds blow across the high hills in autumn or spring.

Pay attention to the weather before going to Faliraki Water Park. The administration of the establishment will not refund the entrance fee, even if it starts to rain and you are forced to leave early.

Mineral thermal springs are located on the outskirts of the village, a couple of kilometers south of Rhodes. Here you can swim in the healing warm waters at any time of the year, take beautiful photos of Faliraki against the backdrop of artificial waterfalls, and admire the natural landscapes.

Kallithea Springs is a small sand and pebble beach with sun loungers, a bar and other amenities. The water here is always calm and warm, and the slope is gentle, so during the season you can meet many families with children. In addition to the springs, Kallithea Springs is known for its regular exhibitions, which are held in the large rotunda.

Entry fee to the bath from 8 am to 8 pm - 3 € per person, children under 12 years old free.

Important! Be sure to bring masks as this is one of the best snorkeling spots in all of Rhodes.

Beaches

The best seaside resort in Greece offers vacationers 8 beaches with different surfaces. Find out in this section what the sea is like in Faliraki, where the nudist areas are and where to go with children.

The four-kilometer beach covered with golden sand is located one kilometer from the Faliraki water park. The bottom is visible through the crystal clear water, and the condition of the coastal zone is carefully monitored by the city administration. The water here is easy to enter, shallow, there are no rocks and the sea is very calm - this place is suitable for families with children.

The main beach of Faliraki has all the necessary amenities: sun loungers and umbrellas (9.5 euros per couple, free until 11 am), showers and toilets, a cafe and bar (coffee - 2 €, meat dish - 12 €, salad - 6 € , glass of wine – 5-6 €). In addition, tourists are offered a large selection of entertainment, including:

  • “Banana” – 10 minutes 10 euros;
  • Water skiing – 25€ per lap;
  • Parasailing – 40€ per person;
  • Renting a motor boat – 55 €/hour, catamaran – 15 €/ hour, jet ski – 35 €/15 minutes;
  • Windsurfing - 18€.

An interesting feature of the beach is the presence of a nudist area. There are also umbrellas and sunbeds (5€), bananas and a rental area, showers and toilets. This part is hidden from the view of others in a small bay; you won’t be able to get there by accident, or see something you don’t want.

Cons:

  1. Lack of trash cans.
  2. High attendance during the season.

7 km south of Faliraki is the large and wide Traounou Beach. There are far fewer tourists here, a clear sea and a clean coast covered with large pebbles. Entering the water is comfortable and gradual, but already 4 meters from the shore the depth exceeds 2 m, so you need to carefully monitor the children. Away from the coast there are a lot of fish and beautiful algae, don't forget to take masks. This beach in Faliraki (Rhodes) offers great photo opportunities.

Traounou Beach

Renting sunbeds and umbrellas on Traunu costs 5 euros per day, but you can do without them, sitting on your own mat. On the beach there is a tavern with low prices, Wi-Fi, showers, changing rooms and toilets are available. On weekends, local residents of Rhodes go to the beach; many tourists do not come even in high season.

Disadvantages include the lack of trees and natural shade; a small number of toilets (only next to the cafe); lack of active entertainment and shopping.

Anthony Quinn

This beach became one of the most popular in all of Greece after the filming of the film “Zorba the Greek” starring Anthony Quinn. Covered with small pebbles mixed with sand, it is hidden in a small bay, surrounded by many tall plants, 4 km south of the village.

This place is unique in terms of fauna - lovers of diving (dive 70 € / person) and snorkeling (rental 15 €) come here from all over Greece. In summer, you can only find a free sun lounger on Anthony Queen Beach in the early morning, but you won’t be able to relax on your own blanket here, since the coast is very small and there is practically no space free from amenities.

On the territory of this Faliraki beach (Rhodes) there are several toilets and showers, and changing rooms. The water here is calm all year round, since this is not the Mediterranean Sea itself, but its emerald bay. From the shore there is an amazing view of the surrounding rocks covered with green plants.

Cons:

  • Lack of infrastructure and entertainment;
  • Small area and large influx of tourists.

Mandomat

This is the largest nudist beach in the village of Faliraki and the island of Rhodes as a whole. You can walk to it from the outskirts of the city in just half an hour, but it is not visible to prying eyes, so it is quite difficult to find it. Here you can enjoy the beauty of untouched nature, plunge into the warm and clean sea, relax in the shade of trees to the sound of water.

Unlike other nudist beaches in Greece, here you can rent a sunbed and umbrella, use a shower and even relax in a tavern located right on the coast. Please note that entering the water here is not very convenient, as it is filled with rock fragments - be sure to take swimming slippers. In general, the shore is strewn with small stones covered with sand.

Flaws:

  • No entertainment or shopping;
  • Difficult to get to.

Important! This nudist beach in Rhodes belongs to the “mix” category, that is, both women and men relax here.

The beach is hidden in a picturesque rocky bay 7 km from the city. This place is not suitable for those who like sandy descents into the water, since here tourists will have to sunbathe on large and small stones. Entering the sea is not very convenient; in some places there are metal ladders; it is better to take special shoes with you.

Despite the fact that the beach is completely rocky, it also has all the necessary amenities: sun loungers, umbrellas, showers, toilets and changing rooms. The infrastructure is not very well developed, but Thassos still has a good beach cafe that serves Greek national cuisine and delicious seafood. You can use free Wi-Fi throughout the entire beach. Great place for snorkeling.

Flaws: inconvenient entry into the water, poor infrastructure.

The popular beach of Rhodes in Greece is located three kilometers from Faliraki, next to the Anthony Queen coast, in a small picturesque bay. There are fewer tourists here, since the entry into the water is quite sharp and the greater depth begins after 3 meters, which is not suitable for families with children. The sea is clean and calm, deep, you can snorkel from huge boulders located right in the water. The most popular entertainment options are snorkeling and diving.

Ladiko is actually divided into two parts - sandy and rocky, so here you can take unusual photos with the sea in Faliraki in the background. On its territory there is a basic set of amenities: sun loungers and umbrellas (10 euros per couple), toilets and showers, a tavern is built nearby (cocktails for 7-10 euros, smoothies and juices - about 5 €). There is not much space on the beach, so if you want to relax on your blanket, come to the coast by 9 am.

Carefully! You should not swim on this beach without special slippers, as you can get hurt on the rocks at the bottom.

Cons:

  • You can't relax without a sun lounger;
  • It is inconvenient to enter the sea;
  • Lots of people.

4 km from Falikari there is a wide, uncrowded pebble beach. It captivates with its unusual beauty: high cliffs, amazing caves, emerald-colored bay. The water here is very clean, the depth begins almost immediately, the entry into the water is gradual, but the bottom is rocky. Most of the area is empty.

Tragana has all the basic amenities: sun loungers and umbrellas for 10 euros per day, fresh water showers, changing cabins and toilets. Due to the fact that the beach coast stretches for several kilometers, you can sit on your blankets in any corner of the coast.

Flaws: The northern zone of Traganu is entirely allocated for military recreation and is closed to ordinary tourists. Signs with the appropriate inscription will notify you that you have entered prohibited territory.

Interesting fact! They say that Tragana, compared to other beaches in Greece and Rhodes, has cold water, since springs gush out in the local caves. In fact, this temperature difference is no more than 2°C.

The small pebble beach is located just 2.5 km from the outskirts of the city. Its length is about 4 km, so even in high season, every traveler can find a secluded place to relax.

Katalos is not the best beach in Rhodes for families with children. Here, of course, there is a very calm sea, a clean coast and untouched nature, but already 6 meters from the shore the water reaches 3-4 meters in depth.

The beach has all the necessary amenities and several places for entertainment. A sun lounger and umbrella can be rented for €12 per day, changing cabins, toilets and showers are free. Catalos not only has a bar and cafe, but also on-site service, allowing you to enjoy refreshing drinks without looking away from the beautiful seaside.

Cons:

  • The beach is not very suitable for snorkeling, as there are few living creatures;
  • It is dangerous to travel with children;
  • There is practically no entertainment.

Ticket price is about 3 euros per person, cars depart every half hour. The first bus from Rhodes leaves at 6:30, the last at 23:00.
