It is profitable and fast
Lastochka trains run between the resorts of Greater Sochi and Adler airport much faster than buses. They can freely transport pets and bags of any size. Their stations are as close as possible to the centers of the villages and the Sochi airport and are very convenient for landing. Every day "Lastochki" carry tens of thousands of passengers, help to overcome peak passenger traffic during the summer season and are a real transport ridge of the entire resort region of Sochi.

In the direction of Krasnaya Polyana, 8 pairs of Lastochka electric trains run daily. The schedule has slightly improved, but it is still far from ideal - there are late flights only in the direction from Krasnaya Polyana, but you can return by train from a walk by the sea back to your hotel in the mountains until 18:00.

There is also a direct flight from Krasnodar, on which you can get to the Rosa Khutor resort and back with comfort in 6-6.5 hours. So far, there is one flight per day in both directions, and we separately note that this flight now stops, although it used to pass this stop.

In general, Swallow is a rather comfortable way to travel between the resort and the city. The carriages are reserved seat cars, with soft seats, arranged in blocks of 2-3-4-6 seats. There are 220V sockets (not all seats). One of the cars is equipped with a toilet.

Of the minuses, a relatively high price can be noted, especially if you are traveling in a company (if you are 3-4 people, consider the option, it may be cheaper), and the not very convenient location of the railway stations. If, in principle, the resorts can be reached on foot from the final stop (Gazprom and Alpika are 3 minutes from the station, and Rosa Khutor and Gorki Gorod are within 15-20 minutes on foot), then you will have to go to the village of Krasnaya Polyana either by ...

Inside the wagon

Popular ski resort Krasnaya Polyana is located in the Adler region, 42 kilometers from the coastal part of the city, at an altitude of 560 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains on the southern slope of the Caucasian ridge.

Winters are long, snowy and humid here due to the combination of mountain and sea climate. The Krasnaya Polyana mountains attract skiers and snowboarders with their light and soft snow. Those wishing to ride ski slopes Krasnaya Polyana is getting bigger and bigger every year.

So, we will clearly and briefly consider all the ways how you can get to Krasnaya Polyana.

By train to Krasnaya Polyana

Comfortable Lastochka trains run from Sochi railway station to Krasnaya Polyana. There are 2 stations in the Krasnaya Polyana area - Esto-Sadok and Rosa Khutor. How do you know which station to get off at?

If you need to get to the ski kits Rosa Khutor, Alpika-Service or Gazprom, then go to Rosa Khutor... If you want to get to Gornaya Karusel or Gorki Gorod, then you need a station Esto-Sadok.

Travel time from Sochi to Rosa Khutor station will take approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. There will be several stops along the way - Matsesta, Khosta, train Station Adler, Esto-Sadok.

The cost of the ticket is not small - from Sochi to Krasnaya Polyana in one direction, you will have to pay about 340 rubles for one ticket.

You can see the train schedule from Sochi to Krasnaya Polyana by the link, from Adler to Krasnaya Polyana -.

There are also direct trains running from the Imeretinskiy Kurort (Olympic Park) station to Rosa Khutor. Travel time is 45 minutes. And with a transfer via Adler - about an hour and a half. In winter, as well as during various competitions, the number of trains running on this route is increasing. See the schedule of such trains.

The advantage of the train is that you can carry ski or snowboard equipment without any problems. However, the frequency of trains in winter and autumn is very low, so the proposed 4-6 trains per day with a high degree of probability may not suit you.

By train Swallow from Sochi airport

One should also mention this option to get to Krasnaya Polyana.

In winter, there are trains in the schedule that run from the airport to Rosa Khutor and vice versa. Travel time is one hour. The fact is that there is no direct route from the airport to the mountains: the train follows one station to Adler, and then continues the journey not in the direction it followed from the airport, but in the opposite direction, bypassing the turn to the airport, going into the mountains. There are one or two such trains a day. If your arrival time coincides with the departure time of such a train, then use it. Otherwise, you will have to get off the train in Adler and wait for another train to go to Krasnaya Polyana. In this case, it is better to take a bus from the airport or from the Adler railway station.

Pay attention to the note in the schedule that there is no transfer, the travel time for such a flight is about one hour. See the schedule here.
