You already get used to the standard red and gray colors of our trains. And any other color of the carriages except green, which became familiar a long time ago, is perceived as something very beautiful and original.
This morning at the Yekaterinburg station I got off the train and suddenly saw bright blue shiny cars. What is this? Is it really some kind of branded train of the old type, when each railway tried to have its own trains, distinguished by unusual colors.

I come closer. It turns out this train is called "Alexander Nevsky". Cast metal letters, emblems. Even though we were in a hurry, I couldn’t pass by this one.

Decorative door trims. Everything, although modest, is solid and tasteful.

And two, or even three dining cars, outside the windows of which you can see carved chairs with high backs.

Where does such luxury come from? I went online to find out more about this train. It turns out that it operated on the St. Petersburg-Moscow route for only about six months in 2009, and then was used periodically as a tourist route. He took tourists to Finland and Mongolia. What is he doing here in the Urals? Who did you bring from where and where? The passengers seemed to be invisible, but the service personnel flashed outside the windows.
And this is the interior of one of the dining cars of the Alexander Nevsky. Photo taken from the Internet.

And when we were driving back that same day, we saw another luxury train. Trans-Siberian Express "Golden Eagle", which stood on the tracks near the station. He stood as if it was here, in Yekaterinburg, that was now his “home”. This train is considered the most expensive and luxurious in Russia. He walked along the Trans-Siberian Railway under the P36 steam locomotive. I photographed it from the train window.

How will it look like

For a day, the Vladivostok railway station became the stopping place for the Imperial Russia luxury train, which tours from Moscow along the Trans-Siberian Railway, reports RIA PrimaMedia. Having spared no expense (the cost of a seat ranges from 5 to 10 thousand euros) for the tour, train passengers walked around the capital of Primorye and tried the local cuisine. The VIP train left Moscow on July 24 and arrived in Vladivostok at 08.00 on Thursday, August 4. From the capital of Primorye, passengers (mostly foreigners) went home by air, and at night the train with a tour on the return route departed back to Moscow. RIA PrimaMedia learned from the representative of the Russian Railways Tour company, Natalya Artamonova, how they entertain passengers who want to see Russia in all its glory.

Reference: The train "Alexander Nevsky" belongs to Russian Railways and was launched on the route St. Petersburg - Moscow in April 2009. Already in December 2009, the flight was closed. For the 400th anniversary of the House of Romanov, which was celebrated in 2013, "Alexander Nevsky" found a new use - tourism. The Imperial Russia tour follows the world's longest railway, the Trans-Siberian Railway, and illustrates the breadth and diversity of Russia. The first train cruise took place in 2014.
Tickets for the third excursion tour of "Imperial Russia" in a year were sold out by passengers from all over the world - from Mexico, Brazil, France, Germany, Great Britain, the USA, Malaysia, Taiwan, Sri Lanka.

— Passengers are very impressed with the train, which is a hotel on wheels. Foreigners expressed many enthusiastic reviews about Kazan, Irkutsk, and Baikal. They liked the landscape on the Ulan-Ude-Khabarovsk section. Many simply do not look away from the windows. In general, each city on the route has its own zest, its own charm. I think they really liked Vladivostok too,- says Natalya Artamonova.

In Vladivostok, passengers of the “luxury” train visited Cape Egersheld, the Eagle’s Nest hill, Russky Island, the S-56 Submarine Museum, the Arsenyev Museum and the Vladivostok Fortress, and also walked along the main squares of the city, Svetlanskaya Street, Admiral Fokin Street and Tsesarevich embankment.

The passenger menu is presented with Russian cuisine, but upon arrival at each new point we also take into account regional specifics. For example, in Kazan there was an emphasis on Tatar cuisine. In Vladivostok, of course, tourists tried seafood. Foreigners eat dumplings, borscht, and green cabbage soup with great pleasure. It may seem unusual, but our tourists really love buckwheat,- notes the representative of Russian Railways Tour.

Foreign tourists are accommodated in three carriages. The most expensive carriage - the VIP carriage - consists of five compartments with two berths. All compartments have armchairs, tables, LCD TVs, built-in wardrobes for clothes and luggage, air conditioning, washbasins, showers and toilets. Each compartment here can accommodate a maximum of two people. In addition to organizing a cultural program, passengers also take care of everyday details of the trip, so they don’t have to worry about where they will sleep, eat, or what to do with their luggage. On certain sections of the route, live performances were given by a pianist and violinist.

The minimum cost of a ticket to "Imperial Russia" is 5,150 euros, the maximum is 9,805 euros (without additional payment for single occupancy). Before the end of 2016, another excursion tour on the “luxury train” will be carried out. Six trips are planned in 2017.

Each of the VIP carriages was designed to carry 10 passengers, and the area of the two-seater compartment in it was larger than two ordinary ones. SV cars were presented in two types: with vertical and horizontal shelves. The compartments of VIP and SV carriages were equipped with an individual climate control system. Satellite television and Internet access points were available in all compartments. Passengers were provided with cold and hot meals, soft drinks, an individual sanitary and hygiene kit and the latest newspapers. Excerpt characterizing Alexander Nevsky (train)

“Mom,” Natasha shouted, “I’ll give you a beating that it’s him!” I assure you. Wait, wait! - she shouted to the coachman; but the coachman could not stop, because more carts and carriages were leaving Meshchanskaya, and they were shouting at the Rostovs to get going and not delay the others.
Indeed, although already much further away than before, all the Rostovs saw Pierre or a man unusually similar to Pierre, in a coachman's caftan, walking down the street with a bowed head and a serious face, next to a small beardless old man who looked like a footman. This old man noticed a face sticking out of the carriage at him and, respectfully touching Pierre's elbow, said something to him, pointing to the carriage. For a long time Pierre could not understand what he was saying; so he was apparently immersed in his thoughts. Finally, when he understood it, he looked as directed and, recognizing Natasha, at that very second, surrendering to the first impression, quickly headed towards the carriage. But, having walked ten steps, he, apparently remembering something, stopped.
Natasha’s face, sticking out of the carriage, shone with mocking affection.
- Pyotr Kirilych, go! After all, we found out! It is amazing! – she shouted, holding out her hand to him. - How are you? Why are you doing this?
Pierre took the outstretched hand and awkwardly kissed it as he walked (as the carriage continued to move).
- What's wrong with you, Count? – the countess asked in a surprised and compassionate voice.
- What? What? For what? “Don’t ask me,” Pierre said and looked back at Natasha, whose radiant, joyful gaze (he felt this without looking at her) filled him with its charm.
– What are you doing, or are you staying in Moscow? – Pierre was silent.
- In Moscow? – he said questioningly. - Yes, in Moscow. Farewell.
“Oh, I wish I were a man, I would certainly stay with you.” Oh, how good it is! – Natasha said. - Mom, let me stay. “Pierre looked absentmindedly at Natasha and wanted to say something, but the countess interrupted him:
– You were at the battle, we heard?
“Yes, I was,” answered Pierre. “Tomorrow there will be a battle again...” he began, but Natasha interrupted him:
- What’s the matter with you, Count? You don't look like yourself...
- Oh, don’t ask, don’t ask me, I don’t know anything myself. Tomorrow... No! Goodbye, goodbye,” he said, “a terrible time!” - And, falling behind the carriage, he walked onto the sidewalk.
Natasha leaned out of the window for a long time, beaming at him with a gentle and slightly mocking, joyful smile.

Pierre, since his disappearance from home, had already been living for the second day in the empty apartment of the late Bazdeev. Here's how it happened.
Waking up the next day after his return to Moscow and his meeting with Count Rostopchin, Pierre for a long time could not understand where he was and what they wanted from him. When he was informed, among the names of other people who were waiting for him in the reception room, that another Frenchman was waiting for him, bringing a letter from Countess Elena Vasilievna, he was suddenly overcome by that feeling of confusion and hopelessness to which he was capable of succumbing. It suddenly seemed to him that everything was over now, everything was confused, everything had collapsed, that there was neither right nor wrong, that there would be nothing ahead and that there was no way out of this situation. He, smiling unnaturally and muttering something, then sat on the sofa in a helpless position, then stood up, went to the door and looked through the crack into the reception area, then, waving his hands, returned back, I took up the book. Another time, the butler came to report to Pierre that the Frenchman, who had brought a letter from the countess, really wanted to see him even for a minute and that they had come from the widow of I. A. Bazdeev to ask to accept the books, since Mrs. Bazdeeva herself had left for the village.

“We have created a tool that allows the agency to keep tourists from going on their own.”
Taras KOBISHCHANOV
"Russian Express"

“Online Express” opens up the whole world - no need to call a tour operator, request travel options, or waste time on tedious self-assembly. You can create any tour on our platform. Moreover, according to the agents themselves, the search time has been reduced by 4-5 times.

“The tourist should be offered something that he cannot organize on his own”
Dmitry FOMINTSEV
"TurTransVoyage"

The lady came to this holiday with our group, and the next year we met her there as the wife of the winemaker - she received our tourists with him! Another tourist met her love - an Italian - in Venice, where the group spent only 9 hours.“The one with good prices, service, speed and technology will win”
Svetlana DROZDOVA
"Russian Express"
Director of the FIT Department
“The market specifically in the individual tourism sector lacked accessible technologies that would allow us to work quickly. Russian Express offered them: it became more convenient for agents. They trust us with their precious VIP clients"“We have an excellent team - many have been working for more than 10 years, and some have been working since the opening of the hotel”
Svetlana MIKHALEVSKAYA
Azimut Hotel Olympic
CEO
Most likely, this is the result of stable demand for trips to Moscow from Russians. And we have a lot of returning guests. Last year, the Azimut chain updated its loyalty program, and it bore fruit. Although people, of course, come to us not because of bonus points, but for the sake of a high level of service“There are a lot of uncontrollable risks in the tourism business”
Elena VOROPAYEVA
Olymp Consult
director
The main reason for selling a business has not changed, but the cost has dropped significantly - 10-11 years ago the average agency price was about 2-3 million rubles, since then they have fallen in price by 10-15% annually, and now, in fact, they are sold at the cost of furniture and office equipment. The average bill is about 600 thousand rubles“What we came up with for selling excursions in Serpukhov can be useful to any small town”
Yuri YASCHUK
Golden domes
director
If a city offers different group excursions and they can be selected at the trip planning stage, this may affect the occupancy of hotels, restaurants, souvenir sales, etc. This approach can surpass the effect of event tourism“By organizing a massive distribution of souvenirs, exhibitors themselves attract non-target audiences to their stands”
Artem CHERNYSHOV
MITT
director
An exhibition is an expensive thing, so hire professionals for these three days who can properly answer questions and provide the necessary information. Only in this case is there a chance that visitors will become your partners“We are the first to offer Russian tourists to celebrate the New Year in Nazareth”
Anastasia STARIKOVSKI
Hotel Ramada Nazareth
director of international sales
Nazareth is one of the holiest places in the world, where Jesus Christ grew up. The city has many churches, such as the stunningly beautiful Church of the Annunciation with a unique mosaic depicting the Madonna and Child. The atmosphere in the city during the New Year and Christmas holidays is special“Attending an industry exhibition by professional players has not lost its relevance”
Artem CHERNYSHOV
MITT
director
Exhibitions reflect the state of the market as a whole. The ruble is falling, there are fewer tourists. Our market is overheated, the number of agencies and tour operators is clearly excessive. It is clear that they opened in lean times, but now the situation has changed“Hoteliers have the privilege of working 24 hours a day”
Cornelia BRINKMAN

Not all young people are ready to give up parties with friends for an unscheduled visit, and treat the client as the only one, even if he is the three hundredth one checking in today. This needs to be taught. That’s why we pay a lot of attention to interns and rely on them“In Tottori Prefecture you can see the real Japan”
Dina DERGUNOVA
Frigate Aero Tours
director of tourism
Hotels opened by foreigners are also in demand because many visitors to Japan face a language problem: in small towns it is difficult to speak English. Muscovites do not expect to meet Russians and are usually interested in how we got here. But the Japanese themselves are most surprised“Russian travel agencies are buying up blocks of seats on cruises to the Arctic and Antarctic”
Marina VLASOVA
Poseidon Expeditions
CEO
Now, by the way, is the time to offer such cruises. A few years ago, clients were surprised when we said in November that there were no more places to go to Antarctica for the New Year. And today the Russian market is accustomed to the fact that these trips need to be booked a year and a half in advance.“The arrival of Hilton in the regions is shaking up local hotels”
Vladimir ILICHEV
Hilton Worldwide in Russia and CIS
Managing Director for Development
I won’t lie, we encourage tourists to make direct bookings on our websites. After all, when accessing online services, loyalty program participants do not receive bonus points. In addition, on our official resources the price is 2-3% lower“The key trend in the hostel market is the blurring of boundaries between formats”
Natalya ROSENBLUM
Top Hotel Experts
managing partner
Whatever locality we are talking about, for the development of hostels there must initially be both business and tourist life there. If people go to the city only on a business trip, then people limit themselves to old hotels and hostels"Infoflot" is a supermarket that offers more than 3 thousand river and sea cruises
Andrey MIKHAILOVSKY
"Infoflot"
general director
We have more than 6 thousand agencies throughout the country. I think we managed to achieve such a result because we ourselves started as an agency, we are familiar with all the difficulties that stand on this path. Accordingly, we know ways to overcome them“We packed the hotel for the opening like a debutante for a ball”
Svetlana MIKHALEVSKAYA
Holiday Inn Express Moscow Paveletskaya
general manager
The Holiday Inn Express brand standards spell out a fundamentally new service format. For example, we do not have a division between office functions and F&B work. That is, any employee must be able to check in a guest, pour him coffee, and heat up soup
