During the day, I answer one of the most frequently asked questions in letters: “What to see in Warsaw with children?” And at night my conscience comes and gnaws at me. Like, she named the 3 most popular places that's all? Do you think that's enough? Of course not!

Today I woke up at 4 am with the firm intention of putting an end to this and writing a detailed article listing entertainment places and special museums for children. Initially, I wanted to add children’s playgrounds to this list, because there are quite a lot of them in Warsaw, with different ideas, but I will devote a separate article to this topic.

Also check out my new project “Warsaw in a Box,” which is great for seeing the city with the whole family. Really, I'm proud of him!!

Judging by the little things, they love children here. Judge for yourself.

— The buses “squat” to make it convenient to get on with a stroller, for which, by the way, there are special seats.
— There are quite a lot of modern and diverse children’s playgrounds in the city, where anyone can play for free.
— It’s quite convenient to move around with strollers - there are well-thought-out, smooth exits from curbs everywhere, and there are very few paving stones in the city - literally on a couple of streets.
— Children's corners are equipped in banks and government institutions.
— Most public restrooms and coffee shops have changing facilities.
— Many places sell “family tickets” - they save the family budget quite well.
- On Children's Day - June 1 - some of the bus stops were announced by children's voices - it was so cute and unexpected - you can't imagine!

Convinced you? Well, now let's get to the point!

And to make it even more convenient for you, I have marked on the map all the places discussed in this article. Even without knowing the city at all, you can understand what is on your way.

Museums and places interesting for children

Copernicus Science Center and Planetarium (Centrum Nauki Kopernik i Planetarium)

This is where children literally rush, as they say, from 3 to 99 years old. You can conduct a variety of experiments, watch the performances of robots... It will be interesting for everyone! If you are planning to visit Copernicus on the weekend, it is better to take care of your tickets in advance - they sell out quite quickly.

Address: Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie 20. Opening hours: weekdays: 9.00-18.00, weekends: 10.00-19.00, from April to June on weekdays the Center is open from 8.00. Closed on Mondays. Ticket prices: 27 and 18 zlotys.

Next to the Center there is also a Discovery Park - admission is free, and it’s definitely worth a visit - listen to various noises from pipes, do experiments with sound and pet a flock of metal sheep

There is a planetarium very close by. The soundtracks of some films ("Ziemia, Księżyc, Słońce", "Na skrzydłach marzeń", "Polaris", "Czarne dziury. Podróż w nieznane", "Atronauta 3D") have been translated into Russian. So just ask at the box office before the session for headphones with a Russian-language version (deposit - passport or 300 zlotys) - and you and your children can enjoy the commentary in your native language. Tickets for a 3D session cost 27 and 21 zlotys, for 2D - 22 and 16 zlotys.

Zoo

The second most popular place to visit with children. Allow at least 3 hours to visit it. I highly recommend reading it to get the most out of your visit.

Address: Ratuszowa 1/3.
Ticket price: 30 and 20 zlotys.
Opening hours: November-February: 9.00-16.00, March and October: 9.00-17.00, April-September: 9.00-18.00, summer on weekends - until 19.00.

Money Museum

Incredible place, with interactive and useful information! Outside of Poland, little is known about it yet, but if you want to learn more about money and introduce your child to this interest, be sure to plan a visit to this museum. Here is my detailed article about .

Ticket price: free!
Opening hours: Monday - closed, Thursday: 10.00-20.00, other days: 10.00-18.00.
Address: ul. Świętokrzyska 11/21 (the very center of the city, by the way!)

Dollhouse Museum and Museum of Evolution

As they say, for girls and boys. I united these museums on a territorial basis - they are both located in the most famous Warsaw building - the Palace of Culture and Science (Stalin's high-rise building). Appreciate its scale and monumentality! 237 meters high, built in just 3 years! There is a lot of interesting things there: various temporary exhibitions are held, there is a university, theaters, cinemas... You can go up to the most famous observation deck and explore the city from above - both adults and children usually like this.

A visit to the Dollhouse Museum with a family ticket (for 4 people) costs 60 zlotys, regular – 20 zlotys, reduced price – 15, and if your child’s height is less than 100 cm, then it is free. The museum is open every day from 9.00 to 19.00.

A ticket to the Museum of Evolution costs 8 zlotys, a discounted ticket costs 4 zlotys. Family ticket (minimum 2 children) - 20 zlotys. Opening hours: Tue.-Fri.: 8.00-16.00, Sat.: 10.00-16.00, Sun.: 11.00-16.00, Monday - closed.

Visit observation deck costs 20 and 15 zlotys. This can be done any day of the week from 10.00 to 20.00, and from May to August an evening visit is available until 22.00 - a “night” ticket costs 22 zlotys.

Railway Museum

An undeservedly under-promoted museum.
But there are a variety of models of trains, engines and everything related to the railway! The exhibition is both indoors and outdoors - you can see real trains from different eras and even climb on some of them. Both children and adults like it. Located at Towarowa, 3. Opening hours: 7 days a week from 9.00 to 17.00. Ticket prices: 12 - full, 6 - reduced, 35 zlotys - family (2 adults and a maximum of 3 children). On Mondays admission is free.

Papugarnia

600 square meters. High ceilings. And very different, what is important - friendly - parrots! The conditions for keeping the birds are good. It doesn't matter how old you are - if you love animal world, you will not remain indifferent.

There are two papugarnias in Warsaw - the more popular among the locals - simply Papugarnia - at Garażowa 4. Unfortunately, it still has no website, only a Facebook page - Akademia Papug. But it’s not the site that matters! Opening hours: 10.00-13.00, 14.00-19.00. Admission is 19 and 15 zlotys, family tickets are available.

More touristy - Papugarnia Carmen - al.Jerozolimskie 200 (weekdays: 10.00-19.00, weekends: 10.00-20.00), entrance 19 and 15 zlotys, ticket child + adult - 31 zlotys, child + 2 adults - 44 zlotys, children under 3- x years - free.

Trampolines

Who among us did not dream of jumping on trampolines as a child? A very simple, easy option is available for free on the Vistula embankment, near the Copernicus Center - here a couple of small trampolines are simply inserted into the ground. But if you and your children love physical activity, then it’s better to plan a trip to real trampoline parks. There are two of them in Warsaw, both at a good level, with well-thought-out safety precautions, assistants and doctors just in case.

A little more varied: StacjaGrawitacja (Stacja Gravity) - there are more than 20 different trampolines, a pool with cubes, places for jumping, etc. Address: Bohaterów Września, 12. Opening hours: weekdays: 10.00-22.00, weekends: 10.00-21.00. The only downside to this place is the price. An hour in the trampoline park will cost 35 zlotys (if purchased online - 30 zlotys), and a ticket for the day will cost 100.

Another option: Hangar646 (entry PLN 29 per hour when buying online and PLN 34 per hour when buying on site, a child under 7 years old can go free with an adult on one ticket) Addresses: Wal Miedzeszyński 646 and Domaniewska 37a.

Children's shops where you can play in Warsaw

In any shopping center, starting from the most famous Zlote Tarasy, which is next to the Central Station, you can find a lot of stores with goods for children. And we will focus on those where you can not just walk around, but play. With pleasure and free of charge.

Hamleys

A place that just recently appeared in Warsaw - a branch of the world's most famous (and largest) London toy store Hamleys - at Światowida 17 - in the Galeria Polnocna shopping center. Here you can play Lego, have fun with radio-controlled cars, play a huge piano, blow soap bubbles and much, much more. Everything is free and absolutely free!

Smyk

A store with a similar name can be found in almost every shopping center. But one of its branches is worth highlighting separately. Between the Palace of Culture and Science and Warsaw's Arbat - Nowy Świat Street and Krakowskie Przedmieście Street - Chmielna Street is located. There, at number 25, inside this store there is a Bear Factory (Fabryka Miśków), where a child can build his own teddy bear. Choose his color, eyes, clothes and even the phrase he can say. The entertainment is not very cheap - a finished bear will cost you 80-150 zlotys, but how much joy the child will have!

Candy Manufactory (Manufaktura Cukierków)

At the branch at Nowy Świat 21 you can watch for free how sweets are made (addictive!) and buy them if you wish. And in the main building (Tamka, 49) - and make the candy yourself! Master classes are held on weekends every hour - on Saturday from 11.00 to 17.00, and on Sunday from 12.00 to 17.00. They speak Polish, but the main thing here is to come 5-10 minutes before the new hour and do it :). The master class is free, and the candy - your work of art - can be picked up and eaten for 15 zlotys.

Joyful little things for children where you will definitely go

Old city

If your child gets tired of the architectural beauty, take him to Sto pociech (One Hundred Pociech) at ul. Freta 20/24a (very close to main square Old Town) - where adults can drink coffee, and children can have fun in the children's corner or on an improvised playground on the street.

Kids enjoy running around the walls of the once defensive fortress - the Barbican. It's absolutely safe.

A good option would be to go through the entire Old city and go down Kościelna Street to the Multimedia Fountain Park. From May to September, on Friday and Saturday evenings, the fountains “sing” here. And in the cold season, there remains a shop by Linday, the man who designed the water supply system in Warsaw, a statue of Marie Sklodowska-Curie, an outstanding chemist, and just a winged dragon, which for some reason children really like. A little further away, in the same park, there is a very good playground.

Zlote terraces

A shopping center, which, due to its central location and proximity to the main station, is most often visited by visitors. On the top floor of the center, where the food court is (according to Polish designations, this is floor 2) there is a children's room where you can climb a rope maze, dive into a pool of cubes and give parents freedom for a while. Such freedom costs from 14 to 19 zlotys per hour.

Vistula embankment

If you move away from the Copernicus Science Center to the right along the embankment, you can make a couple of cute discoveries for yourself: jump on trampolines, discover a couple of intricate sculptures, relax at an impromptu piece of sandbox beach and lie on futuristic benches.

A park Adwenture World Warsaw entertainment is planned to be built just 40 kilometers from Warsaw by 2019.

They say, it will more than eclipse the glory of the largest center attractions Central Europe - the famous Disneyland in Paris

Multimedia fountains exist in almost every big city world. Not so long ago, in 2011, Warsaw ceased to be an exception to the rule, and a multimedia fountain was also opened on its territory, with several located nearby. This unusual building was called the Multimedia Fountain Park.

It is within walking distance of the old town. This is one of the favorite places for Warsaw residents to cool off in hot weather. There are spacious lawns nearby where you can have a picnic or eat ice cream and sunbathe.

Fountain Park is represented by two fountains. One main one - with an area of more than 2200 m2, and one linear one.

For children there are small fountains, the so-called paddling pool, under which they can run and play. The area of the playground is about 140 m2.

It is worth immediately noting that multimedia fountains represent a whole combination of several factors: light, water and sound. All these components make the show unforgettable. Each performance is accompanied by musical compositions, either classics or modern creations of the pop industry.

Bye, Truth, names of investors were not announced were, so it remains only hope that the construction of a water park in Warsaw will not remain unrealized.

In addition, the city authorities are doing everything to interest travelers, so it is gradually throwing away its status as a transit point and turning into a major tourist centre.

Warsaw is a modern European city that can offer a person not only an interesting program of visiting historical attractions, but also really high-quality entertainment.

There is a zoo, a water park, many theaters, entertainment centers and much more. Let's take a look best options leisure activities in Warsaw so that you can also enjoy them.

The city has a zoo, a water amusement park, and several theme parks; as a rule, they are all small and created for a specific theme. For adults there is entertainment in the form of quests, and there is also a house of horrors.

The most popular are quests dedicated to escaping from enclosed spaces; in some cases, such entertainment is even designed for children.

If we talk about the most large park with a lot of different types entertainment, then in Warsaw BlueCity and ClubArco can be classified in this category.

Here you will find entertainment for children, restaurants, bowling and much more. These places work all year round, you just need to check the cost of tickets before your visit, as well as the opening hours of the attractions you are interested in.

Warsaw Zoo

The Warsaw Zoo is one of the most interesting entertainment places in the city. It’s simply impossible to be here and not visit the zoo, especially if you’re visiting the city with children. After all, it is here that today you can see 5 thousand different species of animals, including such rare species as for Polish zoos, such as macaws, anteaters, even cheetahs and many others.

In addition, this particular zoo serves as a venue for holidays for children, with special classes specifically for students. The zoo also provides activities for children with disabilities.

The zoo itself has a huge territory and several pavilions. One of the oldest is “House under the Roof”. This is an old indoor zoo, established before the war, which, however, has been restored and now hosts scientific exhibitions. Also, children will be especially interested in visiting the “Fairytale Zoo”, where they can see various fairy-tale animals and play on a specially equipped playground.

There is also special entertainment for them: a petting zoo, where kids can feed the animals and pet them, naturally, under the supervision of adults.

The zoo can also please you with its serpentarium. There are 50 different species of reptiles here, many of which were presented to the public only by the Warsaw Zoo.

The zoo also has a beautiful indoor aquarium that you can head to if it rains unexpectedly. The zoo, like all entertainment in Warsaw, is open every day. You can get here until 19.00, but for a visit to the zoo you will need to pay from 14 zlotys for adults and 8 zlotys for children.

After visiting the city zoo, you need to next head to the water park. The water park itself is located in the south of the city. It was built on the site of the old Varshavyanka swimming pool. And today it is one of the most convenient water parks in Europe, which has swimming pools for children and adults, slides of varying steepness, and an Olympic swimming pool.

It will be difficult to get around all the attractions that the water park can offer you even in a whole day. In addition to the main water activities of this water park, you can also be offered a visit to the sauna, beauty salon, squash court, and bowling alley. The water park really has everything. The price for visiting the complex is 25 zlotys, about the same as at the zoo.

The Polish capital is good not only at the water park. There are several skating rinks here, and some of them operate in winter time even around the clock. Of course, there are more of them in winter, since many skating rinks in the city are open-air.

One of the most beautiful, especially at Christmas time, is the skating rink on the Market Square.

This skating rink is free and you can also rent skates there. Usually it is officially opened on December 5th. There are also a number of smaller skating rinks open during the holidays. There are also indoor paid skating rinks where you can skate in the Polish capital at any time of the year. You can also rent skates and helmets here. The average price for an hour of ice skating is 10 zlotys.

Not only the zoo here will delight animal lovers, there are about 400 farms in Poland that can offer horse riding, regardless of the age of the applicants for this sport.

However, if you are interested in such entertainment just near Warsaw or in the city itself, it is advisable to contact the Polish Equestrian Sports Union, located on Lektykarska Street 29. Here you will be offered the best locations for such entertainment in Warsaw and, if necessary, will offer an instructor for you or your children.

There are several large climbing walls in the capital. The most interesting for tourists may be:

  • "Obozova". There are over 80 routes of various difficulty levels, and there is all the necessary equipment. The trails are completely renewed twice a year. The only negative is that the place is too popular, and therefore there are no fewer people who want to come here in the evenings than there are visitors to the zoo on weekends.
  • "Macaque." A very interesting location for rock climbing with highest point 17 meters, equipment and insurance - everything is very convenient, there is even a coffee shop on site. True, getting to this location will be quite difficult.
  • "Varshavyanka". This location has entertainment for children in a separate large trampoline and special routes for adults.

Other locations offering similar entertainment in the city are quite inconvenient and therefore are not very popular among tourists. If you want to get the most out of the route, you need to contact these centers.

Near Warsaw there is an excellent golf club with 20 practice places. Here you can rent all the necessary equipment; the field itself has several natural obstacles for a more interesting game. Prices here, as for other similar entertainment, are, of course, quite high, but you can join local Club golfers to get certain benefits, although of course this only makes sense if you're in town long enough.

The zoo and water park are not the only entertainment for children in the city. There are also several specialized children's theaters, including Gulliver and Doll. Fans of active leisure can also be invited to visit the local bowling alley - some of these establishments have special tracks for children.

There are also specially equipped swimming pools with “paddling pools” in the city (in addition to the water park). Also in the city there is beautiful parks, the same Lazienki, which will appeal to children of all ages. But it’s better to spend an evening with children in the Old Town, where there are always a lot of interesting programs for guests of the capital of different ages.
