The beginning of this quest mirrors the introductory quest of the Imperial Legion, only now you will need to talk to the rebels.

You will get your first chance to join the ranks of the Stormcloaks immediately after Helgen, when you leave the caves with Ralof. Otherwise, you will just need to find any rebel, a conversation with whom will activate the task.

Having received the order of the same name, go to the city of Windhelm, where the residence of the usurper Ulfric Stormcloak is located. Talk to him, and then go into the next room to meet the ruler’s faithful ally, Galmar. After the conversation, you will receive the first task, during which you will need to prove yourself and provide a service to the rebels.

Joining the Stormcloaks

Your goal is on an island with ice ghosts. You will have to go to the right side of the city and quite close. The name of this part of the land was given for a reason - one of the Stones of Power under the sign of the Serpent is located on it.

Apart from this creature, no one else will try to stop you from completing the quest. If you have difficulties directly with the ghost, then stock up on the appropriate tinctures that increase resistance to frost.

After killing the monster, all you have to do is go back to Galmar. Say the Oath of Allegiance to become an official member of the rebels.

3 jagged crown

When you deal with the ghost and return to the palace, you will find Ulfric and Galmar arguing, who cannot resolve the issue of some kind of crown.

The Stormcloak leader doubts that ancient artifact Nords still exist, but Galmar has a completely different opinion. According to him, the Jagged Crown still lies somewhere in the ruins of Corvanjund, so the rebels must get it to secure Ulfric's claims.

Finally, the Petrel gives the go-ahead to search for the artifact - go to the indicated point to begin the task. On the spot, you will discover that the legionnaires have found out about your intentions and reached the ruins first, so get ready to fight.

Inside, the soldiers will not offer you much resistance, since Galmar will accompany you. This NPC is invulnerable, so just follow him.

After the first and second halls, where you have to attack your opponents head-on, Galmar will sense an ambush and ask you to investigate top level.

Go to the right and along the circle of the upper tier get to the next room. There you will see enemies that can be quickly eliminated by knocking down a container with fire over a puddle of oil.

One way or another, after the battle begins, the rest of your comrades will come to your aid, so the battle will become equal. Ultimately, passing the corpses of draugr and legionnaires, you will reach the Hall of Stories with a locked door, which can be opened with a claw key (it lies right next to the corpse next to the obstacle).

Place the door parts in the order shown: wolf-insect-dragon, and then the path will open.

After this, you will run into another puzzle, only now it will be a hidden lever that opens the necessary door.

To find it, climb to the upper level and cross the small bridge - the lever is located behind it. When the door is opened, draugr will suddenly attack your comrades.

As a result, you will reach the final hall, where the regalia is located. The Jagged Crown is worn by a particularly powerful draugr that will immediately awaken as soon as you get close to it. Deal with them, search the bodies, explore the Dovahkiin wall and go to Ulfric.

Keep in mind that at this stage you can still change your mind and take the crown to the rebels' opponents - the Imperials and their leader, General Tullius. After this task, you will not be able to change sides.

With a message for Whiterun

When Ulfric Stormcloak receives the crown, he will praise you and invite you to begin a new task. Its essence is as follows: it is necessary to deliver the ax to the Earl of Whiterun, thereby deciding the fate of the city.

Whiterun is located in the center of the province of Skyrim and is the main trade artery, which makes it the most tasty morsel in the civil war. That is why it is necessary to take possession of it, but there is one thing - the local jarl Balgruuf sympathizes with the Empire, so you will have to resort to brutal measures. If he refuses to accept the ax and asks to return it, then, as the ancient Nordic tradition says, there will be war.

When you deliver the package to its destination, in addition to Balgruuf, you will come across his advisers. In your presence, they will hold a meeting, after which the jarl will say the final word - he refuses your leader’s proposal. Return the ax back to Ulfric to begin the next task - the conquest of Whiterun.

Battle of Whiterun

Once the quest appears in your journal, go to the outskirts of Whiterun and find Galmar and the Stormcloak army there. Ulfric's adviser will give a thrilling speech, after which he will order the attack to begin.

Together with your brothers in arms, head to the walls that protect the city. You need to break through the barricades and climb up, where there is a lever with which you can lower suspension bridge and enter Whiterun.

Once in the city, you will find many legionnaires and defensive structures. The ultimate goal of the campaign is to reach the jarl's palace and finish him off, so be prepared to fight your way through. During the entire mission you will not be able to interact with the local population and enter houses, so move forward and do not get distracted.

After fighting your way through dozens of Imperials, you will finally reach Dragonsreach. In addition to Balgruuf, his adviser and the usual garrison will be inside, who will try to stop you. It is not necessary to kill everyone - it is enough to lower the jarl's HP to a quarter, after which he will order everyone to lay down their weapons.

Whiterun has been conquered, and now a new jarl will rule in the city - Vignar Graymane, loyal to the Storm Brothers. When you inform Ulfric about the successful siege, he will promote you in rank, give you a unique cannon and offer you your next assignment.

About the liberation of Skyrim

This extensive task is a set of conquest operations, during which you will finally subjugate the territory of Skyrim. As it progresses, you can bring the main story campaign to the quest “Endless Time”, in which the parties will conclude a truce and exchange possessions.

That is why the goals of this task may differ for each player, since the negotiation process is quite dynamic and offers several options. Whatever cities you hand over to the Empire are the ones you will then have to win back during this mission.

The first region you will have to conquer after capturing Whiterun is Falkreath. To continue the mission, visit the rebel camp indicated on the map, which is located below and to the right of Riverwood.

Galmar will inform you that the Stormcloak detachment was captured by legionnaires, who then placed it in the Neugrad fortress. Your comrades need to be freed, so head to the marker.

On the spot you will meet your friend Ralof. He will rejoice at your presence and offer you options: attack the fortress head-on or sneak in using the secret door on the side.

The chosen option will not affect anything: in the first case, you will simply fight openly, and in the second, you will gain an advantage due to surprise.

To sneak to Neugard unnoticed, go to the lake and jump into it, as the hidden door is located in its very center. Using the door, you will immediately find yourself in the dungeon where your comrades are kept.

The cells can be opened with master keys or a key that is located nearby by the guard. Release the prisoners, and then go outside to deal with the garrison.

Throughout the battle, you will fight alongside the liberated rebels. After the battle in the fort's courtyard, you need to go into the central building, where there are even more opponents.

Deal with them and talk with Ralof, then return to the Stormcloak and tell him about your success. As a reward for this, you will again receive a promotion, a cannon, and the opportunity to purchase property in Windhelm.

Capture the Reach

Another task to liberate the region in Skyrim from the rule of the Empire. It will become unavailable if you transfer Markarth into the hands of the legion after concluding a truce.

In the camp at the Reach, talk with Galmar to learn about the plan of action. The fact is that Jarl Markarth has a weak point - his uncle named Rerik, about whom there are terrible rumors.

This time you will have to play the role of a blackmailer and thief - you need to steal evidence confirming that Rerik worships the god Talos, now banned in Skyrim.

Once in the city, make your way to the palace, which is the jarl's residence, and then go to the right of the throne. This way you can get into the personal rooms of the ruler’s assistant, where the desired chest is located. It is there that the amulet of Talos lies, which clearly speaks of Rerik’s religion.

After this, all that remains is to talk with Rerik in central hall and show him the amulet. He will be seriously frightened and agree to cooperate, and then, as a sign of loyalty, he will inform you about a legion caravan with valuable supplies that is moving to main city empires.

Moreover, if you put more pressure on the adviser and use persuasion, he will give you gold from above.

Tell Galmar about the information received, and then go to the highway, where the Stormcloaks are already waiting for you, ready for the raid. Together with them you will capture the cart and kill the guards. By the way, here Ralof will help you again, who will offer to attack from afar or hit openly.

When the deed is done, Ulfric's advisor will order you to capture the Sangard fortress. The fort is located below and to the right of Rorikstead, and the task itself is a classic Skyrim fortress capture.

You will need to kill the defenders until their strength, expressed as a percentage on the side of the screen, drops to zero. After the battle, inform Ulfric that Sangard is now yours. As a reward, the leader will promote you in rank and give you a cannon.

Capture of Hjaalmarch

During this task, which you will receive in the camp above and to the right of Morthal, you will have to misinform the imperial headquarters, thereby disrupting their plans.

To complete the task, you will have to kill the messenger with the letter or simply steal documents from him. The messenger himself travels along the road from Morthal to the imperial capital of Solitude, during which he can meet two taverns, in each of which the messenger decides to stop.

It doesn’t matter in which tavern you find the messenger - in any case, you will have to convince the owner that the imperial soldier may soon be killed, which you want to prevent. As a result, the innkeeper will tell you about the location of the messenger, saying that he was absent for a while, but will soon visit the establishment again.

After this, the messenger will be highlighted with a marker on the map, so you can immediately follow him and kill him on the road. However, be aware that the messenger moves in real time, which is why you may simply not catch up with him.

There is another option - wait for the messenger in the tavern, and then follow him and finish him off away from civilization (murder in the tavern will become a crime).

When you have the documents, take them to Galmar. It turns out that the Snowhawk fortress is asking for soldiers, which the Empire would immediately provide if this information fell into the hands of the legionnaires. When Galmar corrects the information, take it to its destination in the city of Morthal, where Tadril Duliy is waiting for you.

To complete the task, you will only have to complete Galmar's last task - to capture the Snowhawk fortress, which has lost its support. Get there, launch an attack and bring the garrison to zero percent.

You have to recapture the city of Dawnstar, which was initially under the control of the Stormcloaks. The quest will become available only if and when you hand it over to the Imperials during the quest “Endless Time”.

This time there are no unique missions waiting for you - only the capture of the Dunstad fortress. Listen to Galmar and go to the point where other rebels are waiting for you. Together with them, storm the fort until all its defenders fall.

You have to recapture the city of Riften, which was initially under the control of the Stormcloaks. The quest will become available when and if you hand it over to the Imperials during the quest “Endless Time”.

Visit Galmar's camp and receive the task. Next, go up and to the right of the city, where a squad of Stormcloaks awaits you. Together with them, besiege the fort and take possession of it.

The city of Winterhold is ruled by Ulfric Stormcloak. You can give it in the same way as the cities described above during the quest “Endless Time”.

Visit the advisor in the camp near Windhelm. Your king's advisor will send you to conquer the Kastav fortress. Together with other warriors, you will have to cut out the garrison until its number drops to zero percent.

The final task of the long mission “Liberation of Skyrim”. It will become available only after capturing all cities, not counting the imperial capital in Skyrim.

It is this city - the city of Solitude - that you will have to conquer during the next mission. This is also the forerunner - it will be necessary to recapture a fortress near Solitude, which is called Hrastgad.

Immediately go to the point where your allies are waiting for you. Attack the garrison and bring its number to zero. When you report your success to Galmar, he will send you to the main army, which has already begun the assault on Solitude.

Battle of Solitude

Once you reach the outskirts of the city, you will find an army led by Ulfric Stormcloak himself. He will encourage the warriors, and then send them and you to attack.

Getting behind the walls will not be difficult, since the city is almost unprotected from the outside. The bulk of the enemies are behind the walls, so go inside.

To complete the quest, you must kill General Tullius, who is located in the main palace. Getting there with the Petrel will not be difficult, since he is invulnerable.

It will not be possible to get into the castle directly, since the path is blocked by a gate. Step to the side and break the first obstacle, then move into the residential area. From there, turn into the cemetery, from where you can also get into the castle. The local path will be blocked only by a barricade that needs to be broken.

At the same time, you will have to fight off enemies who will advance until you destroy the fence.

Finally, you will reach the castle itself and go inside. Together with your comrades you have to defeat the general and his advisor. The advisor will fall, and the main target will be on the verge of death. One way or another, she will be executed by your hand or the hand of Ulfric.

After this, together with the new king, you will leave the castle and go out to the rest of the soldiers. Ulfric Stormcloak will give a pathetic speech, and then say that he refuses to name himself king without permission. He will demand to convene the jarls, who will have to decide the fate of Skyrim. At this point, the campaign for the Stormcloaks ends.

This mission controls the overall course of the civil war for the Stormcloaks. After completing the quest series, you will be even closer to liberating Skyrim.
The overall goal of the quest is to conquer each individual fief, one at a time, taking control of each fief's military forts. The possessions that must be captured vary from completing the Endless Time, and there are many different ways to complete this task.

If you haven't completed Time Without End, you will only need to capture zones controlled by the Imperial Legion.

Zones controlled by the Stormcloaks will only need to be captured by selecting the Imperial Legion in the Endless Time.

Zones controlled by the Imperial Legion will only need to be captured if the Stormcloaks are chosen in the Time of Endlessness.

After completing the previous quest, Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak will tell you that you must help lay siege to Whiterun. Contact Galmar Stonefist, who will order you to meet him outside the city.

Go to the Whiterun military camp, which is located southwest of the city, and you will notice that the siege has already begun. Approach him and the rest of the soldiers and listen to the instructions. He will say that the final destination is a bridge that was raised to hold off the attackers.
After you gather the rest of your troops, rush in with Galmar and the others. Don't worry about killing too many Imperials, they will spawn. When you reach the first wooden barricade, you will encounter the first wave of enemies. Going through obstacles is easy, hit them several times with your weapon and they will fall. Your log will tell you to lower the bridge. Walk up the path to a small wooden bridge with stone walls on your side, head there, and go up the path. You will see two levers. Drop one. The bridge will lower and the soldiers will enter the city.

Ulfric Stormcloak will give you an ax (Ulfric's Battle Axe) and order you to take it to Jarl Balgruuf.

Decision-making

In order to obtain the next domain to be liberated, you will always start by talking to Ulfric in the Palace of Kings in Windhelm. Ulfric will confirm any progress you've made so far and possibly give you a new title or reward. He will tell you which domain should be conquered next, and also explain a bit about why that territory is the next priority.

Next, you must go to the Stormcloak camp, which is located in the priority territory. The camp location will be added to the map, but these are usually unknown locations, meaning you won't be able to quickly travel there. Once at the camp, you need to find Galmar Stonefist, who is located in the main tent of the camp, by delving into the updated map of the progress of the war. If you select the “Report” option in the dialogue with him, he will report to you about the quest that must be completed.

In almost all cases, one mandatory quest is “Battle for the Fort”. The main quest in these battles is always the same, it simply consists of breaking through the enemy's defenses. Anyway, you must go to the fort and help kill all the Imperial soldiers in the fortress, your screen will be updated regularly with the number of soldiers that still need to be killed.

Falkreath

Falkreath

Your first task in liberating Skyrim is usually to liberate the territories of Falkreath. In addition, he allows you to decide what to do with the Imperial soldiers at your discretion, Ulfric tells you to inform Galmar Stonefist at the hidden Stormcloak camp.
The only quest that must be completed in Falkreath is Fort Neugrad - Rescue of Comrades.

Limit

The Reach does not need to be captured if it was given to the Stormcloaks during the endless Time.
After completely completing Fort Neugrad - Rescue of Comrades, you will need to return to Ulfric, so go to Windhelm and go to the Palace of Kings. Talk to Ulfric, he will congratulate you and give you the title of "Bonebreaker" and a weapon, as well as permission to buy a house in Windhelm. He will order you to go to the nearest Stormcloak camp. Go to the camp and enter the large tent and report business to Galmara, he will say that the manager in Markath secretly worships Thallas, so you need to find evidence and then "convince" him to help the Stormcloaks. This will start a new quest. After completing it, go back, report the completion to Galmar and receive your well-deserved reward. Talk to him and he will order you to attack Fort Sangarda. Meet the Stormcloaks and this will start a new quest.

Hjaalmarch

Hjaalmarch does not need to be captured if it was given to the Stormcloaks during the endless Time.
After completing the battle for Fort Sungard, return to Ulfric in Windhelm and talk to him. He will thank you for liberating the Reach, give you a new task and an excellent shield. Go to the desired Stormcloak camp, as usual, he will tell you that you must provide false orders to the Imperial Legionnaire Mortal, but first you must forge something. According to him, hotels in Rorikstead and Dragon Bridge often turn out to be havens for imperial couriers. This starts the next quest “False Front”.
Once completed, return to Galmar's camp and report the situation. He will congratulate you. will give you gold and order you to meet with people who are ready to attack Fort Snowhawk, this will start a new quest.

White Beach

The White Coast does not need to be captured if it was given to the Imperials during the endless Time.
Ulfric will give you the title "Snow Hammer" and a shield. He will tell you to go to the Stormcloak camp to help take back the White Coast, and he will remind you that it is your fault that the Imperials own the White Coast. Go to the camp and talk to Galmar. He will tell you to meet with the Stormcloaks, who are ready to attack Fort Dunstad. This is how the “Battle for Fort Dunstad” begins.

Rift

The Rift does not need to be captured if it was given to the Stormcloaks during the endless Time.
Go to Windhelm and talk to Ulfric, he will tell you to go to their camp in the Rift and make you responsible for the whole matter. Go to the camp and talk to Galmar. He will order you to meet with the Stormcloaks, who are ready to begin the battle. This is the beginning of the Battle of Fort Greenwall.

Winterhold

Winterhold does not need to be captured if it was given to the Imperials during the endless Time.
Go to Windhelm and talk to Ulfric. He will say that everything is not so bad yet that he should refuse, so now he has to waste soldiers. Head to Windhelm Stormcloak Camp. Go there and talk to Galmar. He will tell you to meet with the Stormcloaks who are ready to attack Fort Castav. This is how the “Battle for Fort Kastav” begins.

Hafingar

After completing the previous quest, return to Windhelm and go to the Palace of Kings to report your success to Ulfric. He will congratulate you, give you the title "Storm Blade", weapons and armor. He will then tell you that the Stormcloaks will conquer Solitude soon and order you to go to Hafingar's Camp for further orders. As soon as you arrive at the camp, find Galmar and, as usual, report on the situation. He will tell you to meet with the soldiers preparing to attack Fort Hragstad and take the fortress.

After completing the battle for Fort Hragstad, return to Galmar's camp for further orders, he will tell you that the Stormcloaks are taking the city and order you to meet with the soldiers who have gathered to attack. This will allow you to begin the “Battle for Solitude” quest.

After the battle, Ulfric will give you a new sword (even if you didn't kill General Tullius) and then ask you to be with him when he makes a speech to the people. If you accept his offer, you will have to follow him and stand with him while he speaks. However, you can refuse, but he will ask you to at least stay with him, but if you don’t want that either, then go straight to the soldiers.
In his speech, Ulfric will mention you, thank the soldiers for everything they did in the war and say that he cannot accept the title of High King. The soldier will shout out "What about Jarl Elisif?" Ulfric will ask her if she can leave the Empire and swear allegiance to him. Elisif will agree and become the Jarl of Solitude. After the speech, Ulfric will turn to Galmar and ask how he did it, and after a short conversation he will leave.

Joining the Stormcloaks

In order to join the ranks of the Stormcloaks, you need to receive the appropriate task. If at the very beginning of the game you fled from the burning Helgen along with the rebel Ralof, then when leaving the cave he told you about the civil war in Skyrim and invited you to join the Stormcloaks. If you left Helgen with the Imperials, but decided to join the rebels, then to receive this task you just need to talk to any Stormcloak soldier, who can easily be found in numerous rebel camps throughout Skyrim.

When you find out about the progress of the civil war and the Stormcloaks, the quest “Join the Stormcloaks” will appear in your diary. You need to go to Windhelm and talk to the jarl and rebel leader, Ulfric Stormcloak.

IN joining the ranks Stormcloaks

You must travel to Snake Rock Island and survive the battle with the Ice Wraith. The island is located far in the northeast of the province, among the Sea of ​​​​Ghosts, east of Winterhold. The island got its name in honor of the Snake Stone located on it.

Apart from the ice ghost you need, there are no other opponents on the island, and therefore fighting him should not be difficult. If your character is of a low level, then before heading to the island it is better to stock up on potions of health and protection from the cold.

Serrated crown

When returning from the island of Snakestone, before taking the oath, you could catch Ulfric and Galmar in a furious argument over a certain crown. Galmar convinced Ulfric that the legendary symbol of power, the Jagged Crown, was not lost at all, but was located in the ancient Nordic ruins of Corvanjund. If the Stormcloaks obtain for Ulfric an ancient crown made from the bones and fangs of a dragon, his position will be greatly strengthened in the eyes of most of the inhabitants of Skyrim.

Ulfric agreed to send a small expedition to search for the ancient artifact. You will be tasked with joining her and meeting Galmar and other Stormcloak soldiers near the entrance to Korvanjund. Upon arrival, you will see Galmar Stonefist giving the rebels a brief briefing: the soldiers of the Imperial Legion somehow learned about the rebel plans and were able to penetrate Korvanjund first.

Message for Whiterun

Having received the precious crown, Ulfric will thank you for the successfully completed task and give you the next task. You need to go to Dragonsreach and give the Earl of Whiterun a message from Ulfric - an axe. This is an ancient Nordic custom: if Jarl Balgruuf accepts the ax, it means there will be peace, but if not, it means war.

Having met the jarl and given him the axe, you will witness his conversation with his advisors, at the end of which he will decide to go over to the side of the Empire and refuse to accept Ulfric’s axe.

Note:

The jarl will refuse to talk to you if the quest along the main plot of the game "Dragon in the Sky" is active. In this case, to continue, you will need to first complete it, and only then continue to fulfill Ulfric’s instructions.

After receiving Balgruuf's answer, you must return to Windhelm and return the ax to Ulfric. After Ulfric learns of Jarl Whiterun’s refusal and consults with Galmar, he decides that the time has come to take decisive measures and begin military operations. The Stormcloaks must gather all their forces and spread the key phrase among the population of Skyrim: “A new day begins, and the sun rises over Whiterun” - it’s time to attack the city.

Battle of Whiterun

Note:

Until this task is completed, visiting the “normal” peaceful Whiterun will be impossible.

You will be sent to a camp near Whiterun under the command of Galmar. Upon arrival, you will see Galmar giving an inspiring speech to the soldiers, after which he will lead everyone into the attack. Your first main goal is the suspension bridge. If you can break through the barricades and bring it down, the main Stormcloak force will be able to penetrate the outer walls and enter the city.

Liberation of Skyrim

This task combines several others, the common goal of which is the complete and gradual reconquest of Skyrim, possession by possession. This part of the Civil War campaign is directly connected to the main story quest "The Time Without End", during which you need to negotiate peace between the Stormcloaks and the Imperial Legion. Depending on the decision you make, the factions will exchange cities and, accordingly, take control of a new possession.

Thus, based on the results of the exchange, you will have to capture one or another area of ​​Skyrim. For example, if you have not yet completed the main plot of the game, or have not reached the peace negotiations, then the Stormcloaks control the possession of Winterhold, and the Imperial Legion controls Markarth and the entire Reach. In this case, if you are fighting on the side of the Stormcloaks, your goal will be to capture Markarth. If the exchange took place, then instead of the Reach you will have to capture Winterhold.

Liberation of Falkreath

Fort Neugrad - saving comrades

You need to go to the Stormcloaks' secret camp in Falkreath, which is located southeast of Riverwood. Galmar will be waiting for you there. He will entrust you with a responsible task - to free your comrades in arms from enemy captivity. They are located in Fort Neugrad, which is located south of Helgen. You must join a group of scouts near the fort.

Upon arrival, you will see that your old friend Ralof is in charge of the operation. He will invite you to sneak into the fort unnoticed and free the prisoners of war in prison. At the end of the conversation with Ralof, you will have a new additional task - to sneak into the fort undetected. You can fulfill this condition, or go ahead - in any case, this will not affect the completion of the task.

Liberating the Limit

Note:

This quest will only be received if the main story quest "Endless Time" has not been completed, or if Markarth is still under the control of the Imperial Legion. Otherwise the task will be skipped.

War booty

Ulfric will send you to a secret rebel camp in the Reach. Galmar will meet you there and give you a non-standard task: you need to use blackmail to obtain important information from Rerik - the uncle and assistant of Earl Markarth. Galmar knows that Rerik secretly worships Talos, and this could be an excellent pretext for blackmail.

You need to go to Markarth and find material to intimidate Rerik. Entering the Understone Fortress and turning into the right corridor from the throne room, you will go to the door to the chambers of the jarl's adviser. The premises are periodically patrolled by only one guard, and therefore it will be easy to pick the lock and enter the room. In the chest of drawers, which is located opposite the door, you will find the amulet of Talos, which belongs to Rerik, perfect for your task. Having taken it, you must come to the throne room and show the amulet to its owner.

Such evidence will quickly intimidate the manager, and he will want to talk to you alone. Follow him back to his room and demand information about the Imperials in exchange for the amulet and your silence. In Skyrim, a conflict simmers between the Imperial legions of General Tullius and the Separatists under the command of Ulfric Stormcloak. The player gets acquainted with both of them from the first minutes in Skyrim - the legionnaires want to execute him, and the Storm Brothers want to escape with him. The finally calmed jarl will send us for an introductory task to Galmar, and he will offer to go far to the northeast in order to kill the ice ghost flying around the Snake stone on one of the islands east of the College of Winterhold. For a hero of the first levels, this can be quite difficult, so if you are not confident in your abilities, stock up on healing potions, protection from cold, and fire spells.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: The Snake stone is almost useless. It gives the ability to paralyze an enemy once a day for five seconds.

Serrated crown

"Hey guys, I found the crown!"

Back in Royal Palace, you will hear a new dispute - about a certain crown, which can confirm Ulfric's rights to the throne, if obtained.

Galmar will be surprised to see us alive, but, there is nothing to do, he will take the oath to the Stormcloaks from us.

The oath marks a new stage in the hero’s life - from now on he serves the Stormcloaks and will fight for them. The quest “Joining the Legion” will fail. However, the game will give you another chance to get to the other side a little later - but only one.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: Until you take the oath, you can go to the Imperial Legion and complete their introductory task at the same time.

The time has come to try your hand at combat - to go with the Stormcloaks to the ancient cairn of Korvanjund, where the old king Borgas rests. It is north of Whiterun and east of Lorey Farm. You can go after the crown on your own, but the writers have prepared a trip together with a group of Stormcloaks, among which will be Ralof, already familiar to us from the introductory scenes.

The Imperials have already entered the cairn, so they will have to take it by storm. Several soldiers are on duty outside, the rest are inside. If you don't feel confident, stick with the rest of the Stormcloaks.

The detachment will be led by Galmar Stonefist himself. In front of a corridor that is dangerous for an ambush, he will offer the hero to find a workaround. This path runs a level higher. Pay attention to the lamps and spilled oil - this is a good way to eliminate one or two legionnaires quickly and safely. The rest of the separatists will come running at the noise and start a fight.

After a couple of turns, the group will begin to stumble upon traces of battles between legionnaires and draugr. But this, of course, will not stop the brave Nords. The Imperials, exploring the cairn, did not get further than the secret door, next to which lies the key - an ebony claw. Open the door with the wolf-butterfly-dragon combination. Behind it is a large hall with tombs standing eloquently around the perimeter. Galmar will send us to look for the lever that opens the door at the end of the hall. It is located directly opposite the door on the level above, next to a candle and a chest. Of course, this lever also opens the coffins in which the evil draugr sit.

But the most interesting thing will be the scene in the crypt. We know that the draugr (King Borgas) sitting on the throne is pretending. But Ralof doesn’t know and blithely approaches him with the words: “Here is the crown!” You can easily imagine what will happen after this.

After the battle with three classic draugr bosses (lots of health, use screams), do not forget to pick up the crown and absorb the word of Power from the wall at the end of the hall - time dilation.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: if you take the crown not to Ulfric, but to General Tullius, you can defect to the legion. This is your last opportunity to change sides in the story.

Message for Whiterun

The Earl of Windhelm, the brave and stern Ulfric, is dissatisfied with the latest maneuvers of the Imperials. He decided to finally clarify Whiterun's position and orders a message - Ulfric's battle ax - to be taken to Jarl Balgruuf.

Go to Whiterun and hand over the ax to its destination in the Dragon's Reach castle. After talking with the advisers, Balgruuf will decide to refuse Ulfric, return the ax and finally go over to Tullius’s side.

Battle of Whiterun

After a short consultation with Galmar, Earl Ulfric will give the order to storm the rebellious city. He sends us to the camp that the Stormcloaks are already setting up not far from Whiterun (at the same time, the city itself will disappear from the map, so that there is no temptation to instantly move there).

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: At this point, “old Whiterun” will become inaccessible to you until the end of the quest.

All city assaults are generally similar to each other. The city is emptying, shops and houses are closing - sometimes with regular locks, and sometimes with “you need a key” locks. We, with a small horde of fighters led by a leader, storm the walls, break small “barricades” to get to the palace.

It is useless to try to destroy all the defenders - they are reborn, so it is better to be distracted by them as little as possible. If you don't feel confident, stay among your own people. But you can also act alone.

Our first task is to break the barricades and, going around the drawbridge from the rear, along the wall, lower it. The legionnaires are retreating to the city, and we need to go there too. Breaking barricades and fighting with the city’s defenders (or running away from them), get to the Dragon’s Reach, where Jarl Balgruuf the Elder himself will meet us in battle armor. He is our main goal. As soon as his health is destroyed, the battle will end and we will witness a scene in which Vignar Gray Mane takes over the position of jarl.

Return to Ulfric and receive an honorary title as a reward. The Earl of Windhelm will hint that now we can catch the legionnaires ourselves wherever we want, but he will send us to a secret camp near Falkreath.

Fort Neugrad - saving comrades

These brave men will beat anyone for me - maybe even two.

Galmar is waiting for us in the secret camp. After a short conversation, he will give the order: to release the captured Storm Brothers languishing in Fort Neugrad.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: at this point the hero will receive the quest “Liberation of Skyrim”, which will hang in the journal until the Storm Brothers take Solitude. All the quests described below are included in it. Due to a flaw in the interface, you will have to manually set a marker for all these quests each time.

The operation is led by Ralof. Find him and report: he will offer to sneak into the dungeon through a secret entrance in the lake behind the castle. This is not difficult to do - the developers have adjusted the vision and hearing of the legionnaires guarding Neugrad so that even those who are not trained to sneak can cope. In any case, even if we catch the eye of the sentries and a battle breaks out on the street, the mission will not fail - we will simply have to storm the fortress head-on.

To find the secret entrance, go around the fortress along the rocks on the right and dive into the lake. Find a sunken boat. Next to it is a cave. That's where we need to go. The Stormcloaks languish there in the dungeon. They loudly hint to us that the guard has the key. It can be stolen, but it is easier to remove it from the body. Free the soldiers, and they, taking the armor from the chest, will be ready to help us clear the fortress courtyard.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: however, most of them will only have fists as weapons, so you will most likely have to do all the work.

All that remains is to enter the fortress and, together with Ralof, destroy all the legionnaires. The quest markers above the head of each enemy will save us from the problem of the “last sectoid”. Having done the deed and thereby freeing Falkreath from the influence of the legion, return to Ulfric with a report.

Ulfric will again give the hero a sonorous nickname and allow him to purchase a house in Windhelm.

War booty

It is possible and necessary to rob silver caravans! The valuable metal will be useful to us ourselves.

Galmar will meet us again at the Reach camp. He will tell us his plan: blackmail. The Jarl of the city of Markarth has a steward named Rerik. He secretly worships Talos, which is forbidden by the White Gold Concordat. By presenting evidence to Rerik, we may be able to get him to meet the Stormcloaks halfway.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: You will not receive this quest if you have completed the story quest “Endless Time” (negotiations in High Hrothgar).

The necessary evidence is the Talos amulet from the chest of drawers in Rerik's room. It is locked with a simple lock - the main thing is to make sure that there are no guards wandering around. Plan: first remove the sentries, and then take a position higher up the slope. Then our task is to call “fire on ourselves” so that the scouts shoot at the guards of the caravan with bows. The plan is strange, and the developers understood this - that’s why they left the opportunity to answer: “Uh, no, I’m better off on my own, and you’re sitting here.”

If we still agree with Ralof, the operation will begin. The scouts will take down the sentry on the rock on their own, and we will break into the camp. When all the legionnaires are dead, the load of silver will be in our hands.

ADVICE: the cargo will literally be in our hands if we break open the chest on the cart.

Report to Ralof, and then to Galmar. There is no need to return to Windhelm this time - Galmar will issue a new quest on the spot.

Battle of Fort Sungard

In such battles, you can just stand on the sidelines and smoke. Except it will take more time.

The task is very simple - fight, destroying enemies until the “percentage of fortress defenders” counter is reduced to zero. Technically, this is not even a full-fledged quest, but an element of the Radiant Story - similar tasks are given on the side of the Imperial Legion.

The defenders of Sungard are very weak - just enough so that they can be destroyed in batches. Due to the limitations of the game engine, new warriors literally appear out of thin air, and the bodies of the dead disappear over time. This applies to both sides - our comrades are also reborn.

ADVICE: battle for the fort - good way get a bunch of steel arrows quickly and for free. The main thing is to remember to grab them before the body disappears into thin air.

There is no need to go inside the fort; the entire battle takes place in the fresh air. When the “respawn” ends, we will be sent with a report to Ulfric. Now the rebels have the entire Reach, and we have another nickname.

Galmar will present the plan in a rather confusing way, but in fact it is simple: we go to the tavern of Rorikstead or Dragon Bridge, ask the bartender where he last saw the messenger, and that’s it! The messenger himself and a compass arrow appear in the surrounding area. You just need to carefully and without witnesses knock on the runner, take the papers to Galmar, and then to the legate in Morthal. It is done!

Battle of Fort Snowhawk

From a distance you can see how the legionnaires of Fort Snowhawk are being chased by some lost witch with a towel.

After you report to Galmar, he will send us to Fort Snowhawk for the next Radiant battle with the defenders of the fort. It is no different from the battle for Sungard - the same regenerating frail Imperials, the same percentage counter.

General Tullius fell to Ulfric's axe. From now on, Skyrim belongs to the Stormcloaks!

Filled with grim determination, Galmar sends us to Ulfric, who, with ten of the best sons of Skyrim, prepared to take Solitude by storm.

On the approaches to the city you will see traces of the battle, and at the walls - Ulfric himself and his meager company.

As in the battle for Whiterun, you do not need to destroy enemy soldiers, but break through the barricades to Castle Grim, where the headquarters of the Imperial Legion is located. If you feel that you can’t do it alone, be close to your people. If not, rush there and witness the conversation between Ulfric and Galmar with Legate Rikke. There will be a battle - you don’t have to interfere in it at all.

When Legate Rikke falls and the health of General Tullius is no longer the same, Ulfric will invite us, as a dovahkiin, to solemnly finish off the legate. The choice no longer affects anything. All we have to do is follow Ulfric to the fortress courtyard, listen to a speech before the soldiers and go home.
