Specialists of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) continue to decode the flight recorders of the FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 that crashed at the Rostov-on-Don airport. Roughly, the decoding of the parametric and flight recorders will be completed by the middle of next week, but some important details have already become known to the media now. According to Kommersant, citing a source close to the investigation, experts have already managed to restore the picture of the plane crash, and the error of the pilots is currently the dominant version.

On March 19, the crew of flight FZ981 tried to land at Rostov-on-Don airport in difficult weather conditions. That morning, a rare weather phenomenon was observed in the airport area - a jet stream. A strong gusty wind was blowing, its speed at the time of the disaster was up to 22 meters per second. Because of this, the Boeing autothrottle functioned poorly, maintaining flight parameters and ensuring the aircraft's movement along a given trajectory in autopilot mode.

According to the recorders, the crew twice tried to land in automatic mode, but both attempts were unsuccessful due to the squally wind. On the third lap, the pilots decided to leave in manual mode. At an altitude of about 270 meters, six kilometers from the runway, one of the pilots pressed the key giving the go-around command and turned off the autopilot, taking control.

According to experts, the pilots did not take into account the specifics of the machine's transition to the manual climb mode. The Boeing 737 automatics work in such a way that during the landing approach the elevator is deflected for a dive, and the tail fin, on the contrary, lifts the nose of the aircraft. If the autopilot is working during the go-around approach, the position of the rudders is smoothly changed by the on-board computer. In manual mode, the pilot reflexively pulls the control wheel towards himself, as a result of which both the rudder and the stabilizer are in the climb position. Pilots are taught not to lift the nose of the car at low altitude, but in an emergency they often forget about it. A passenger Boeing cannot take off like a fighter, the speed drops below the critical speed and the plane goes into a spin.

FlyDubai pilots found themselves in a similar situation. When the plane was already close to falling into a tailspin, a conflict occurred in the cockpit. The pilot was trying to pick up speed, and his partner believed that first it was necessary to lower the nose. A newspaper source said that he shouted to his partner: “Stop. Where to? To stand! Stop! ”, Trying to stop the climb at the same time.

Such desynchronization in control led to the fact that multidirectional electrical impulses from both control wheels began to enter the aircraft's on-board computer, which further exacerbated the situation. Only when the pilots felt like they were in a falling elevator did they manage to coordinate their actions. But at that moment, practically nothing could be done, the uncontrollable Boing was rushing to the ground at a speed of 325 km / h at an angle of 45 degrees. In the last few seconds, both pilots screamed in horror. A Vesti source said it was "inhuman screams."

It will be difficult to determine which of the pilots made the mistake. In the last dialogue, they do not refer to each other by name or position, and their voices and intonations are remarkably similar. At first, the investigators even thought that one person was leading the entire conversation. For the auditory identification of the crew members, most likely, close colleagues of the pilots or their relatives will be involved.

IAC Assistant Chairman Artur Muradyan could neither confirm nor deny the information about the conflict between the pilots. According to him, the staff of the committee did not provide this information to Kommersant or other media. At the moment, all information related to the investigation of the plane crash is closed. The preliminary data on the decoding of the flight recorders will be announced “in a week or two”. The final results of the decryption and their publication are expected not earlier than in a month. “When we have our data, then it will be possible to comment on something,” Muradyan told TASS.

Experts believe that the Boeing737 pilots could not recognize the airliner's spontaneous maneuver due to fatigue or lack of experience. The second option is unlikely, since the crew commander had 5700 flight hours, the co-pilot had 5669. They were not familiar with the specifics of the Rostov airport, but their level of training allowed them to fly the aircraft in any conditions.

Russian pilots who were landing in Rostov-on-Don at the same time heard the negotiations between Boeing and the dispatcher and there was no tension in intonation. The situation probably got out of hand in a matter of seconds. Chronic pilot fatigue could be one of the decisive factors in the crash. This was previously stated by their colleagues on condition of anonymity.

Three FlyDubai employees told the BBC that crew commander Aristos Socratus submitted a letter of resignation prior to the flight due to fatigue and an unsatisfactory quality of life. One of the pilots admitted that he fell asleep during the flights. This question was raised before the management of the airline, but nothing was done to resolve it.

“The team members are overworked and suffering from fatigue. And this is a significant risk. Employees after night shifts go out in the daytime without enough time to rest. I would say that 50% of the airline's employees suffer from acute fatigue, "- said one of the interlocutors of the BBC.

Another active pilot told Russia Today that the co-pilot of flight FZ981 was so tired that he did not want to go to work that evening. FlyDubai replied that they cannot disclose confidential information regarding the carrier's employees.

03/19/2016 at night at the airport of Rostov-on-Don, a terrible and tragic disaster occurred, the victims of which were 62 people. According to the website's official data, the Boeing 737-800 passenger airliner, owned by Flydubai, was flying from Dubai to Rostov-on-Don, however, due to circumstances unclear at the moment, the plane crashed, killing 7 crew members and 55 passengers.

09.04.2016

According to the official statement made, the reason for the crash of the Boeing 737-800 passenger airliner in Rostov-on-Don was the fragmentation of the actions of the crew members, in particular, errors made during the go-around approach are implied. According to some connections, this version was established during the decoding of the flight recorders from the crashed airliner, and the existing information that a terrorist act and a technical malfunction could be the culprit was refuted even earlier.

28.03.2016

The recorder showed that the pilot of the airliner really, 6 km before the runway, decided not to land, but to go around, turned off the autopilot and took control. However, for some unknown reason, he did not take into account the fact that when switching from landing mode to climb mode, the Boeing 737-800 does not smoothly go upward with manual control (as it would with the autopilot), but climbs in fighter mode.

When the plane went beyond the critical angle, its speed began to drop. At this moment, the conflict occurred. The pilot continued to pull the control wheel towards himself, and the other pilot began to push back his control wheel, shouting, “Stop! Where to?! To stand!" As a result, the on-board computer began to receive different impulses from the two control wheels and the control of the aircraft was interrupted.

Judging by the record, the pilots understood each other only when they felt negative overload, but by that time they were unable to change anything. When the plane at a speed of 325 km / h rushed to the ground, they only screamed in horror and despair.

Chronicle of the crash of the Boeing 737 in Rostov-on-Don.

According to official data, the passenger aircraft en route FZ-981 from Dubai to Rostov-on-Don departed from its point of departure at 22 hours 37 minutes last night, and according to the official schedule, it was supposed to arrive at its final destination at 1 hour and 40 minutes of the night.

Nevertheless, in preparation for landing, the plane made several flights over the city, which was most likely due to unfavorable meteorological conditions caused, in particular, by a strong squally wind, the gusts of which reached 18-20 m / s. While attempting a second landing approach, at approximately 3 hours 50 minutes Moscow time, a Boeing 737-800 passenger airliner crashed, killing 62 people.

Preliminary versions of the disaster that happened

At the moment, experts are considering two main versions of the plane crash that took place at the Rostov airport. According to the first of them, unfavorable meteorological conditions were to blame, mainly caused by a decrease in visibility and strong winds, which in turn did not allow a safe landing on the territory of the air harbor. It should be clarified that a few hours before the tragedy, the passenger plane of the Russian air carrier Aeroflot was also unable to land at this airport on the first attempt, however, there was no actual ban on landing from the aviation services, which in turn may indicate other circumstances what happened.

Later, experts suggested that the crash of a Boeing 737-800 passenger airliner at Rostov-on-Don airport could have happened due to a frozen steering wheel, however, the version has a lot of controversy around it, in particular, according to official data, a few seconds before the fall. the plane began to gain altitude, which, in fact, would have been impossible if the plane's steering wheel were indeed blocked, but at the same time, this version converges with an extremely acute angle of incidence of the plane.

According to another version, the plane crash in Rostov was caused by an error of the pilots, who went into a peak on the second approach, which in turn is confirmed by the video made by one of the street surveillance cameras located opposite the runway of the Rostov airport. From the video materials presented, it can be seen that the plane was landing at high speed and at a very high angle.

Among other things, experts are also considering other versions of the tragedy, in particular, it is possible that the plane of the Flydubai airline was technically faulty - according to preliminary versions, due to some problems, it delayed its departure from Dubai by 35 minutes, and a prolonged circling over an airport may be the main indication that technical problems prevented landing.

Rapid tests have shown that the likelihood of a terrorist attack on board a Boeing 737-800 passenger airliner of Flydubai is extremely small, however, in turn, one should take into account the fact that witnesses of the incident point to the fact that at the time of the accident two powerful flashes, which may indicate detonation of an explosive device on board the aircraft.

The results of the investigation of the plane crash in Rostov-on-Don

According to official data, no survivors could be found at the crash site of a passenger airliner en route FZ-981 from Dubai to Rostov-on-Don, and according to experts, the chance of finding still living people was practically zero, since analyzing the angle of incidence and speed, the impact on the ground was incredibly powerful - the wreckage of the aircraft is scattered over an area of several square kilometers.

Initially, the specialists checked the air traffic controllers, however, no traces of alcohol, toxic or narcotic substances were found in their blood, and during the audit of the audio recordings of the conversations, no critical actions were found on the part of the services of the Rostov airport.

During negotiations, between air traffic controllers and the crew of a passenger flight FZ-981 does not indicate any concern, which most likely excludes the possibility of detecting a technical problem on board the Boeing 737-800 airliner, while in the course of the conversation only technical instructions are followed that allow the pilots to land correctly.

For the current hour, specialists working at the site of the disaster at the Rostov airport have found all the flight recorders, which are supposed to help clarify the circumstances of the crash of the Boeing 737-800 airliner.

62 people were killed in the plane crash in Rostov-on-Don. There are no signs of a terrorist attack. In difficult weather conditions, the crew decided not to leave for an alternate airfield

Boing crashed on the night of March 19 737-800 of the airline Flydubai (United Arab Emirates), operating a flight from Dubai to Rostov-on-Don. Onboard there were 62 people - 55 passengers and 7 crew members. All died. Most - residents of the Rostov region, were among the passengers and foreign citizens. The airport is closed tentatively until Monday, March 21, while flights are directed to Krasnodar and Kavminvody. The investigation is considering two main versions of the disaster: aircraft malfunction and crew error in adverse weather conditions.

Accidents at the Rostov airport have happened before (most often - the aircraft rolling out of the runway), but there were no casualties. A catastrophe of such magnitude that happened at 3:43 on March 19 happened in Rostov for the first time.

According to the airport staff, the Flydubai low-cost airline has been operating in Rostov-on-Don since the fall of 2014, during which time the company transported 40 thousand passengers, and everything was normal.

That night, the board was supposed to land at about half past one.

The night before, the regional service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a storm warning: it was raining in the city and in most parts of the region, and a strong gusty wind was blowing.

The Rostov-on-Don airport was not closed: as the airport workers said, such meteorological conditions typical for the Rostov weather in March are, of course, not ideal, but they are not extraordinary for the Rostov airport, so there were no reasons for such drastic actions.

At the same time, precisely because of the weather conditions, two flights, which were supposed to land at Rostov airport, were redirected to Krasnodar, and another, from Istanbul, returned to the port of departure. The Flydubai plane did not land at once - it circled over the city and its surroundings for more than two hours, and then made a tragic attempt.

- I heard that at night, in the area of half past four, something went off, - said Nina Malikova, a resident of the Aleksandrovka microdistrict. - But I decided that it was from a gust of wind - it was very strong - something came off and fell.

The plane collided with the ground about 200 meters from the end of the runway. Debris (small and medium-sized) was scattered over an area of 300 meters. The strip itself, cables, lighting devices were also damaged ...

The Governor of the Rostov Region Vasily Golubev was immediately informed about the incident - an operational headquarters was created at the airport. A couple of hours later, official information about the disaster began to appear. There were 62 people on the plane, 40 were residents of the Rostov region, several people from Krasnodar Territory, Moscow and Volgograd region. Another 16 people are foreign citizens (from Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Spain, India, Cyprus). Among the dead were four children.

After the disaster, the territory of the airport was cordoned off by the police: cars were not allowed, but people could pass freely. An impromptu memorial appeared near one of the entrances to the airport: the arriving passengers put flowers on a specially set table, someone brought a plush monkey. Later, flowers were left in the halls and at other entrances to the airport.

Rostov carriers of the Uber service announced that on March 19 and 21 they will carry the relatives of the victims for free. The first relatives and friends of the deceased passengers arrived immediately after the crash. By 10 am there were about 70 of them. 30 needed psychological help; psychologists from the Ministry of Emergencies and other departments worked with them - 60 people.

Aeroflot began to send passengers to Krasnodar and Kavminvody, flights of other airlines - to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Istanbul, Sevastopol, Yerevan - were canceled. In total, 9 flights were canceled by noon on March 19, about 700 passengers were either sent to other airports, or settled in Rostov hotels, or even gave up their tickets. Big buses were brought up to transport those who could not fly away.

In connection with the plane crash, the leadership of the North Caucasian railroad and the regional ministry of transport made a decision: on March 19 and 20 to add wagons to trains going from Rostov to Moscow and back. But, according to the director of the North Caucasus Railways Vladimir Pyastov, there was less (than usual) demand for tickets at the railway ticket offices that morning.

The representative of the Investigative Committee Oksana Kovryzhnaya said that the department had opened a criminal case under the article "Violation of the rules for the movement and operation of an aircraft, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence." Two main versions are considered: a technical malfunction of the aircraft and a crew error in adverse weather conditions.

Oksana Kovrizhnaya also explained: it will take a long time to identify - there are too many fragments.

As for the flight recorders, both "boxes" are well preserved. But it can take up to 4 months to decrypt. Who will carry it out will be decided by an international commission that will investigate the causes of the disaster.

In the second half of the day, Transport Minister Mikhail Sokolov arrived in Rostov, held a meeting of the operational headquarters, and then together with the regional governor Vasily Golubev and the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko gave a small press conference. The minister said that a government commission had been set up, whose task is to provide assistance in overcoming the consequences of the disaster and find out its causes. As it followed from his speech, since the flight was operated by a company from Dubai, then all passengers were insured by the UAE insurers, in addition, Flydubai was insured in the UK. It is these insurers (the total insurance fund amounted to $ 500 million) that will make the main payments in accordance with international standards. At the same time, the heads of the Russian regions, whose residents died in the disaster, will pay the victims 1 million rubles each. Answering a question from journalists about the state of the runway, the minister said that there is no reason to blame its quality:

"A year ago, the strip was repaired and it was in good condition."

In fact, some time ago, it was decided to close the current airport altogether, since it is located surrounded by residential areas, now a new port is being built, which should be commissioned for the 2018 World Cup (a residential neighborhood is planned to be built on the site of the existing one) ...

The journalists were also interested in whether the work of the dispatchers of the Rostov airport, who allowed the landing of Flydubai, but sent two other flights to Krasnodar, was not considered as the cause of the tragedy.

- In accordance with international rules, the decision on actions is taken by the crew commander, - Alexander Neradko answered. - Our dispatchers acted in strict accordance with the instructions, and we have no reason to suspect them yet.

ATTENTION!

The hotline of the helpline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the Rostov region 8-863-23-99999 was opened. For foreign citizens - 8-499-216-50-50. A passenger Boeing crashed in Rostov-on-Don. It happened at 03:50 am. When landing, the liner touched the ground and was blown apart. It just barely reached the runway, experts say, it collapsed when approaching it, 300 meters away. There were 62 people on board, including four children, all of whom died. Among the passengers were both Russians and foreign citizens - at least eight people from Ukraine, Azerbaijan and India.

There is a ringing silence at the airport, no one is allowed into the building, except for relatives and friends of the victims, they were gathered in the international departure hall - only 600 people. There are also several dozen people whose flights were canceled. Over the speakerphone, they are asked to go home and wait for a decision on their flights, but people cannot budge, crushed by common grief. They don't even talk to each other, they just sit staring at the walls and cry silently.

My daughter and son-in-law flew on this flight, ”says Nina Fedorovna Titova through tears. - At seven in the morning, the grandson called, said. The earth just slipped from under my feet. How could this happen to my children ?! They were such a good family! She was a civil servant, he worked in a bus fleet. Friendly strong family. They say that happiness does not last long. Here they had happiness. Not long ... They are on the lists, Dmitry Chernov and Elena, 46 years old, both. Lord, what a grief, flew from rest. They have a 23-year-old son, my grandson.

The sky was lit up by a flash, there was a strong roar and it became bright as day, - says Nikolai, an eyewitness to the events, who was at the airport at that time. - We didn't even have time to understand anything. We saw how the officers ran, began to call somewhere, and then the cars of the special services began to drive up (report from the scene).

Most of the dead are tourists who flew from vacation - rested and happy. For Rostov and the region - a lot of familiar high-profile names. Igor Pakus is a deputy of the Legislative Assembly and the chief physician of the regional hospital clinic - a surgeon from God. He flew to the UAE with his wife (). Also on the list are the wife and daughter of the head of the Azov district administration of the Rostov region Valery Bevzyuk - Marina and Victoria. Valery Nikolayevich gave them a ticket - just in time for his wife's 50th birthday, he could not fly himself - because of work affairs, so the 27-year-old youngest daughter flew to rest with her mother (details)

The day before, on March 18, the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Rostov Region announced a storm warning in the region - a hurricane, snow and ice.

After the disaster, Rostov-on-Don airport was closed for a day for sending and receiving flights. The planes are sent to neighboring Krasnodar and Mineral water... Tomorrow, March 20, mourning will be declared in the Rostov region, said the head of the region Vasily Golubev. - The reason was the weather conditions: heavy rain, wind, poor visibility, what is happening outside the window is horror, at the time of the disaster the visibility was 70 meters, the wind was 12-14 meters per second, - says Yuri Batagov, vice president of the Federal trade union of aviation dispatchers of Russia. - Could the devices fail - I doubt it. But investigation will show. FULL LIST OF PASSENGERS

Boeing-738 crash trajectory.According to the flight trajectory, the plane came in twice and then made 12 circles over the airport, burning fuel. The preliminary cause of the plane crash was bad weather conditions or crew error

The city's airport and the runway were in good condition, Governor Vasily Golubev said on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel. According to him, the airport was reconstructed in 2015. This information was confirmed to RBC by Evgeny Chudnovsky, general director of the holding "Airports of Regions" (controlled by "Renova" of Viktor Vekselberg), which includes the airport in Rostov-on-Don. He has so far declined from other comments.

More than 740 rescuers and 100 pieces of equipment are working at the crash site, said Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov during a conference call in Moscow. If necessary, the group of rescuers can be strengthened.

As the official representative of the ICR Vladimir Markin told RBC, a criminal case was initiated under the article “Violation of traffic safety rules and air transport"(Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In turn, Interfax's interlocutor in the emergency services clarified that the version of a terrorist attack is practically excluded. “This version is unlikely or even ruled out. It is not considered among the main reasons. There are technical things, most likely, "- said the source of the agency. According to him, the pilots tried to land the ship at 1:35 Moscow time, but for some reason they could not do this. “After that, the plane circled over the city, producing fuel, and at about 3:30 it tried to land,” the source said.

Specialists from Boeing and flydubai joined in to investigate the causes of the crash.

The flydubai low-cost airline was founded in 2008 by the government of Dubai.

Flydubai's fleet consists of 50 Boeing 737-800s ordered in June 2008 at the Farnborough Air Show. All planes were new. In 2014, the airline signed a contract for the supply of 11 more airliners of the same class, as well as 75 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

At the end of 2015, flydubai's revenues amounted to $ 1.3 billion (an increase of 11.4% compared to 2014), net profit - $ 27.4 million (a decrease of 59.7%). The company flies to 95 cities in 45 countries.

Flydubai has been operating in Russia since 2010 and flies to Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Novosibirsk and Nizhny Novgorod.

The company performs more than 1.4 thousand flights weekly. In 2015, it carried 9.04 million passengers (an increase of 24.9% compared to 2014). The number of passengers carried per russian destinations decreased last year by 22%.

The tragedy in Rostov is the first disaster in the history of fly dubai. So far, she has had two incidents. On April 22, 2012, a flydubai flight to Doha almost collided off the coast of Dubai with a liner of another UAE low-cost airline, Air Arabia, flying to Istanbul. On 26 January 2015, a flydubai plane carrying 154 people came under fire while approaching Baghdad airport. The plane landed successfully, none of the passengers required assistance.

Previous plane crashes

On October 31, 2015, the Airbus A321 of Kogalymavia, which was flying from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg, crashed over the Sinai Peninsula. There were 224 people on board, all of whom died. The Islamic State, banned in Russia, claimed responsibility. Later, Moscow confirmed the version of the terrorist attack on board the liner. According to the FSB, traces of an explosive were found on the wreckage of the aircraft during the examination. On January 29, it became known that the Investigative Committee had a case on the crash of A321 on the article “Terrorist attack”.

On the night of October 21, 2014, a plane crash occurred at Moscow's Vnukovo airport, in which the head of Total, Christophe de Margerie, died. His Falcon plane crashed into a snowblower during takeoff. Together with de Margerie, three crew members were killed, all of them French.

At the end of August 2015, the Investigative Committee published the results of the investigation: the investigators named the main cause of the disaster when the plane collided with a snowblower, which drove onto the runway, violating the rules. Additional factors that led to the Falcon crash, according to the investigation, were "violations of aviation rules by air traffic controllers." On September 19, the Prosecutor General's Office to approve the indictment in the case.

On November 17, 2013, a Boeing 737 passenger plane of Tatarstan Airlines, en route from Moscow, crashed at the Kazan airport while landing. The plane crash killed all 50 people on board - 44 passengers and six crew members. Among the victims of the plane crash were the son of the President of Tatarstan Irek Minnikhanov and the head of the republican FSB Alexander Antonov.

The causes of the crash, according to the International Aviation Committee, were the inoperability of the airline's safety management system, systemic deficiencies in the work of the crew and the lack of control over the training of crew members.
