Are there city pools in Moscow?

Outdoor pools are a great alternative to natural bodies of water, such as rivers or lakes. They can be heated or unheated, paid or with free admission. Many popular city parks offer waterside recreational facilities. For example, in the Central Park of Culture and Leisure. Gorky was equipped with 3 places for recreation by the water at once, Sokolniki Park will delight its guests with two swimming pools with heated water, and a whole eco-resort with 4 swimming pools and comfortable recreation areas has been created on the VDNKh Port beach.

Can I swim in the fountains?

Swimming in the fountains of Moscow is prohibited. This prohibition is in effect due to the fact that the water circulates in them in a closed circle, and it does not pass any purification. This means that if microbes get into it, there is a high chance of infection of bathers.

Where can you only sunbathe?

More than 120 places in Moscow are equipped for beach vacation without bathing. Comfortable recreation areas have everything you need: fishing and barbecue areas, sun loungers, playgrounds and benches. Among them:

- Khoroshevsky Straightening channel, Novikov-Priboy embankment
- Karamyshevskaya embankment (natural and historical park "Moskvoretsky")
- Kirovograd floodplain from the Moscow Ring Road along the street. Isakovsky (natural and historical park "Moskvoretsky")
- the left bank of the Moskva River on Zhivopisnaya Street (Natural and Historical Park "Moskvoretsky")
- the southern side of the Verkhny Kuzminsky pond (natural-historical park "Kuzminki-Lyublino")

How to behave correctly in a pond?

In order for your vacation to bring only positive emotions, you must follow a number of simple rules.

1. Swimming is allowed only in permitted places. This way you can be sure that the bottom has been thoroughly checked and cleaned and that there are no dangerous microbes in the water.
2. Do not go deeper than your waist if you cannot swim. It is also not recommended to swim behind buoys or special fences.
3. Remember that cold water can cause seizures. Therefore, you need to enter it slowly. The water temperature should be at least 17–19 ºС, and you can swim for no longer than 20 minutes.
4. Do not go into water after prolonged exposure to the sun. With a sharp drop in temperature, reflex muscle contraction can occur, which is fraught with dangerous consequences.
5. Do not swim while intoxicated.
6. Do not dive into the water in unprepared places, for example, off a cliff, dock or boats.
7. Do not swim close to a motor ship or boat: you can be sucked under its bottom or overwhelmed by a high wave.
8. Don't use air mattresses or cameras if you can't swim.

Be attentive and careful when relaxing by the water, and then summer weekends will give you only pleasant emotions and a boost of vivacity for a long time.
