Bai Dai Beach Nha Trang or a multi-kilometer deserted and almost wild beach twenty kilometers south of the city. I had been planning to go to this beach for a long time, but it absolutely did not allow me to get out of the house over long distances. Fortunately, January in Nha Trang is still pleasing with more or less good weather, and before leaving we still managed to see one of the most beautiful beaches in Nha Trang :)

Very beautiful beach Bai Dai in Nha Trang

Bai Dai Beach Nha Trang. Description

Bai Dai Beach stretches for almost 17 km in the bay between the cities of Nha Trang and Cam Ranh. By the way, the very name of the beach Bãi Dài Vietnamese language This is how “long beach” is translated.

The long Bai Dai Beach (Bai Zai) stretches for almost 17 km!

Previously located nearby military base and therefore this coastal part was inaccessible to tourists. Even now this part of the coast is not yet very popular among tourists, but luxury hotels are being built on the shore at a tremendous pace, some of which will open their doors this year, so that soon Bai Dai beach will be filled with vacationers :)

Hotel construction is in full swing along the coast
Very soon the luxurious villas will open their doors to tourists

Now most of Bai Zai Beach is completely wild and, accordingly, not well-groomed; there is a lot of natural garbage on the beach, and in some parts the beach resembles a landfill.

There is garbage, no people!

I really like landscapes like this

But still, on the long seventeen-kilometer beach you can find almost a piece of paradise! We found two sections of the beach where you can calmly spend the whole day:

  • Beach next to the Dessole Sea Lion Beach Resort. Coordinates: 12.035087, 109.214825
  • The site is at the very beginning of the beach under the mountain. Coordinates: 12.110496, 109.193802

Beach, sand, sea, waves, shadow

The beach strip of Bai Dai Beach is very long; lovers of walks along the sea will be pleased :) The beach itself is quite narrow.

The sand on Bai Dai Nha Trang is white and very fine, green grass grows near the shore. The sea is bright turquoise, and the combination of white sand, bright green grass and azure sea on Ban Zai it reminded me of a gorgeous one!

The landscape is almost like near our Parayso Beach Hotel in Tulum in Mexico
Almost Mexican landscapes :)
The sand on the beach is fine, white and fluffy
There are pebbles and shells near the water's edge

There are always waves in the sea at Bai Dai Beach in winter, but they don’t seem as huge as on. The sea is shallow, the entrance to the water is gentle. But swim in some places on Ban Dai beach dangerous! The shallow sea and small waves create the illusion of safety, but in fact, there are reverse currents (rip currents) in the sea here, so you need to be very careful when swimming on this beach, swim only in strictly designated areas and do not swim too far!

In some areas of the beach there are posters warning that swimming is dangerous.

There is almost no natural shade on Bai Zai Beach. If you are going to this beach for the whole day, you should either take an umbrella with you, or rent a sun lounger under an umbrella, or look for a few places with shade.

There is very little shade on the beach
There is not much vegetation near the shore that provides shade

Infrastructure

Most of Bai Dai beach is completely wild and there is no infrastructure nearby. Small plots belong to a few hotels: of course, the hotels have all the necessary infrastructure, including beach beds and umbrellas, but they are not rented out to non-hotel guests even for a fee.

At the very beginning of the beach, under the mountain, there is a row of cafes, next to which you can leave a bike for 5,000 dong, where you can also rent a beach chair under a canopy. At the cafe you can dine on fresh seafood or drink a cup of Vietnamese coffee. Locals love to come to these cafes on Bai Dai Beach on weekends! The noisy Vietnamese are a real pleasure :) But on weekdays it’s empty.

If you drive a little further south (or walk along the seashore from a row of cafes along the beach a little to the right), you will find a very nice place with several sun loungers under umbrellas. Here, normal sunbeds (not chairs!) can be rented for only 50,000 VND per person.

Bai Dai Beach hotels

On at the moment There are only four hotels open on Bai Dai, I already talked about them in.

You must understand that when choosing a hotel on Bai Dai beach, you find yourself in a reservation, almost like somewhere in the desert in Egypt :) There are no cafes or shops nearby. I’m not even sure if you can rent a bike at the hotel... Of course, a taxi to Nha Trang is at your service.

Bai Zai Beach: how to get there

Bai Zay Beach is located on the way from Nha Trang to Cam Ranh Airport, from the center of Nha Trang to the beginning of the beach about 22 km. Organized excursions like, for example, to Doc Let beach, to Bai Zai beach, fortunately, they don’t carry them yet :)

You can get to Bai Zai Beach by:

1. Taxi. A taxi from to Bai Dai Beach will cost about 200,000 VND one way (not by meter, by meter it will be more expensive! Negotiate the price in advance!) or approx. 400,000 – 500,000 dong waiting for you for several hours.

2. By bus. Because The beach is located on the way to the airport, so you can get to it by bus No. 18. I posted the schedule of this bus in. Bus number 18 stops at stops with orange signs. Just tell the conductor that you need to go to Bai Dai beach, he will tell you where to get off. On the way back, you just need to go to the stop and look out for the bus. Only you will have to stand in the dust and in the very heat, there is no shade. The fare is 30,000 VND per person.

3. On a bike. The best way to get to Bai Zai Beach is by bike. The road is not difficult, as soon as you leave Nha Trang and drive through, the traffic will become much calmer than in the city. The road to the beach passes by picturesque mountains, beautiful landscapes open up and it seems that you are no longer in Nha Trang :) Even the air becomes different - clean, mountain-sea :)

Bai Dai Beach review and photos

Bai Dai Beach great place for relaxation and photo sessions: beautiful nature, few people (on weekdays), fine sand, warm sea. The bright landscapes are pleasing to the eye, especially if you know how to ignore the garbage around: yes, there is garbage, where would we be without it, after all, the beach is almost wild.

“Long Beach” - this is how you can translate into Russian the name of one of the most beautiful vacation spots in the Vietnamese resort city of Nha Trang - Bai Zai Beach. This place got its name due to its impressive length - about 15 km seashore with hot sand, splashing waves and the cries of the ubiquitous seagulls. Bai Zai is attractive not only for its crystal clear water, clean coastline with white sand, but also for its low density of vacationers.

Why Bai Zai?

Bai Zai Beach is the dream of every person who comes to Vietnam with the goal of spending a few pleasant days of relaxation here and be sure to stock up on unforgettable impressions for a long memory.

Bai Zai Beach became a beach not so long ago - until 2004, military bases were located here, access ordinary people which was strictly prohibited. Few people know that this area is currently open to tourists and travelers, which is why the beach is not as crowded as other vacation spots in Nha Trang.

Bai Zai is almost deserted, wild beach, which is located near Cam Ranh Airport - about 20 km south of Nha Trang itself. Recently, the beach area has been actively developed with luxury hotels and villas, cafes and entertainment venues, although several hotels are already in full swing and accepting guests. So far, the infrastructure here is poorly developed, which also affects the low popularity of Bai Zai among tourists. However, according to the forecasts of the Vietnamese authorities, very soon this beach will become one of the most favorite among tourists - you just need to wait a little.

There is a lot on Bai Zai wild places, people are almost invisible here. There are long stretches of coastline where you may not see a single person for a day. This is exactly the kind of vacation that many people dream of, who are tired of the high density of vacationers on other beaches and want to be alone with nature, lie on the snow-white sand to the sound of the surf and dream about something intimate.

Advantages of Bai Zai

Bai Zay Beach in Nha Trang is superb location for those who love hiking. Here you can wander along the coastal strip all day, holding hands and running away from the waves rolling onto the shore. Along the coastal strip there are many places where short grass grows, reminiscent of the famous Mexican Tulum beach. The combination of greenery, azure sky and foaming waves creates a truly romantic mood and involuntarily distracts from sad thoughts. On the shore you can find many interesting shells and take them as a souvenir of a wonderful vacation.
Is it possible to swim or do water games here? Of course you can. Swimming is safe and attractive because the depth increases smoothly, there are no cliffs or sudden changes in relief along the entire coast. The water is so warm and clear that you can see every pebble or shell underneath. Under favorable conditions on Bai Zai, the waves are calm, light and quite suitable for surfing or water skiing.

By the way, Bai Zai is very popular among St. Petersburg kitesurfers living in Nha Trang. Skillfully performing incredible tricks, they fly colorful kites into the sky, creating a truly breathtaking spectacle. The Vietnamese go to the beach in the late afternoon, gathering with whole families, and have fun frolicking with children in the warm, blue waves of the sea.

What do you need for a comfortable stay?

A holiday on Bai Dai Beach in Nha Trang will be truly unforgettable if you prepare a little for it. Take with you a sun umbrella, a couple of sandwiches, a bottle of water and sunscreen, and then you won’t have to be distracted from relaxation and bother with these small worries. There are several excellent hotels near the beach - the beloved Fusion Resort, the cozy Cam Ranh Riviera Beach Resort and Spa, the magnificent Golden Peak Resort and Spa and The Anam Resort.

There are many sun loungers and deck chairs on the coast. The cafe prepares seafood, fish and other dishes from fresh ingredients, serves delicious drinks, including alcoholic drinks, and a variety of snacks. You can get to Bai Zai Beach by taxi or your own car, scooter, or bike. A trip on a bike/scooter, for example, will take about 40 minutes; the route runs along a flat road, not crowded with cars. If you wish, the taxi driver can wait for you on the beach and take you back.
Holidays on Bai Zai are most suitable for tourists who are used to relaxing away from crowded places and prefer to spend time alone with nature.

15 kilometers from Nha Trang there is a very beautiful Bai Zai beach. It is also called Quiet Bay. It’s not as crowded as it is on, but you can hardly call it completely quiet either. This beach is loved by both locals and tourists. There is a long, gentle entrance into the water and white sand under your feet.

What to eat at Bai Zai Beach:

There is a cafe on the beach where you can taste seafood, buy drinks and coffee.

A small monkey also lives here, which tourists feed very well. But the little naughty girl constantly makes eyes and makes a pitiful look, as if everything is the other way around. She smells all the treats, tastes them, and then decides whether she likes them or not. In the second option, she simply throws away the treat and looks at you slightly contemptuously, because you wanted to feed her something tasteless. But the monkey's anger quickly passes, she clearly likes tourists and especially being the center of attention.

The cafe also has showers and toilets. The waiters can bring your order directly to your sunbeds. A little further along the beach there is a small “floating” market. The shopping arcades are located on wooden stilts, since many waves reach very far. You can also have a snack here.

We moved to the very edge of the beach because we wanted to launch the quadcopter and photograph the beach from above. The waiters asked us to move away, since there was a Vietnamese military post right next to the cafe and the place where we were resting. They say that they, like real military men, protect their territory and do not favor such “toys.”

On the way to a more secluded place, we met fishermen. True, they didn’t notice the “results” of fishing in buckets. After watching them for some time, we came to the conclusion that these fishermen are clearly here not for the sake of the catch, but more for the pleasure of the fishing process itself.

Meeting with local guys

On the beach, in addition to sunbathing and swimming, we found a couple more. The first entertainment was watching crabs. The entire beach was covered with small, deep holes, which are the homes of these sea creatures. We didn't see any big crabs, but there were a lot of small ones here. They crawled out and hid.

But the second entertainment was more educational. While walking along the beach, Vova came across a company of local Vietnamese who were taking a break from their everyday work. The guys quickly seated Vova in their circle and began to treat him with everything they had. Beer, green mango with salt, small boiled shells and quail eggs. Having quickly mastered sign language, the local children immediately asked Vova how old he was, whether he was married and whether he had children. For the Vietnamese, family is sacred, so when meeting someone, one of the first questions will always be about family. The locals gave us a warm welcome and happily took photos as souvenirs.

Beautiful Bai Zai beach. For those who want to diversify their beach holiday that's it.

There are three main ways to get to Bai Zai Beach:

  1. As part of the excursion. Typically, a round-trip transfer to the beach is offered for $5-10 per person. The cost of the trip also includes sun loungers.
  2. On your own on a bike. Rent a bike on average 5-8 dollars per day. We need a road leading to Cam Ranh; part of the route goes along a serpentine road.
  3. Taxi. You can negotiate with the driver for a round trip, the driver will be waiting for you on the spot.

If you drive 25 kilometers in south direction from Nha Trang, you can visit the unusual Bai Zai beach (also known as Bai Dai), located in Cam Ranh Bay. Here you will not find the usual scattering of sun loungers and a crowd of vacationers, worn out by the hot sun.

A little history

Bai Zai Beach (Bai Dai) has a rather complicated past. Looking at the deserted narrow line of the beach, it is difficult to believe that just a few years ago there were military bases here and access to this area was closed to ordinary visitors. However, since 2004, this place has become another attractive, albeit little-known, site to visit for both tourists and travelers, and local residents. Gradually, Bai Zai beach begins to gain popularity, but unlike, there is still an opportunity to enjoy its privacy and uncrowdedness.

Translated from Vietnamese, Bai Zai means “long beach” and fully lives up to its name, since its length is about 15 kilometers. In some areas this place still remains wild and devoid of signs of civilization. At the beginning of the beach there are several cafes and hotels, and new ones are being built. But the further you move along the coastline towards Cam Ranh Airport, the more primitive the beach appears before you.

The Attractiveness of Bai Zai Beach

Bai Zai impresses with its beauty and combination of colors: completely white sand, clear blue sky and amazing clean water, incorporating the entire spectrum of shades from turquoise to blue. The entrance to the sea is smooth, there are no sudden changes in relief. During the dry season it is almost always calm. However, you should remain vigilant - rip currents are common, so you must stick to designated swimming areas. Only with the onset of the low season do the waves rise. But this is difficult to attribute to the disadvantages of the beach, since lovers of water sports, especially kite surfers, can appreciate all the advantages of this place.

The beautiful landscapes of Bai Zai are perfect for photo shoots. Sunsets look especially impressive here, and the likelihood of an outsider ruining the shot is very low.

Long coastline The beach will appeal to lovers of hiking, and if you gain strength and walk to the side, you will have the opportunity to admire the planes taking off and landing. An airliner flying overhead will provide truly indescribable emotions.

How to get there and relax comfortably

One of the options for getting to the beach from Nha Trang is for VND 100,000 per day. The road leading to the sea is well paved and there is very little traffic, especially on weekends. Therefore, the journey will be quite safe, despite the presence of serpentine sections along the way, and will take about 40 minutes. An additional pleasant bonus is the beautiful sea views that you will have time to enjoy along the way.

You can use it, although it is much more expensive and not as exciting. You will be dropped off at the beach and a taxi will be waiting to take you back to town. The cost will depend on how you negotiate(don't forget that This is Asia, you have to bargain here). On average, the road from Nha Trang to Bai Zai Beach will cost 200,000 VND one way.

The rest of the beach area has virtually no infrastructure.

If you plan to experience the pleasure of a holiday on Bai Zai, you will have to take care of your comfort yourself. You can rent the usual sun loungers and umbrellas only in a few hotels and cafes. The rest of the beach area has virtually no infrastructure. Considering that there are practically no shaded places on the shore, You should definitely think in advance about sun protection, as well as bedding or sunbeds. Grab enough fresh water and snack food. However, you can treat yourself to fresh fish dishes in local cafes. Reviews about the quality of the dishes are positive.

Some areas of the beach are polluted by natural debris brought in by the sea.

The impression is somewhat overshadowed by the fact that some areas of the beach, especially those far from hotels, are polluted by natural debris brought by the sea. And recently, dirt left by vacationers themselves has been added to this. This somewhat spoils the reviews of recent years.

Definitely Bai Zai!

If, while traveling around Vietnam, you find the opportunity to visit Bai Zai Beach, don’t hesitate for a minute! The privacy and still some primitiveness of this place will soon disappear, thanks to the active construction of entire hotel complexes, and the beach will turn into a comfortable, but ordinary place for relaxation. Have time to feel the uniqueness of the “long beach”, where there is only clear sea, white sand and you.
