Among Russians who know and love to relax in Thailand, one of the most popular airlines in recent years has become Etihad Airways, flying on the route Moscow - Abu Dhabi - Bangkok and back. Relatively low prices and good service have done their job: thousands and thousands of independent tourists from Russia fly along this route. The main thing is to be lucky with the time of the transfer in the capital of the UAE and it did not take 14 hours, as it did in my case. But first things first.
My friends and I bought flights on the Moscow - Abu Dhabi - Bangkok route six months before departure (we bought them in August, the flight was in February). A round-trip ticket cost 17,000 rubles per person.

How to get to Domodedovo airport
I think the options will be useful at least for non-Muscovites, so I bring them below:
Is the cheapest way to travel route taxiwhich departs every 15-20 minutes from the Domodedovskaya metro station. The first minibuses leave for flights at six in the morning, and the last ones leave the flight at about 12 at night. The ticket price is 120 rubles.
- another a budget option - express buses. The conditions are the same, only this pleasure costs 100 rubles. In both cases, the travel time declared by the carrier is 25-30 minutes.
With this option, I see only one drawback: you can get stuck in traffic.
- an electric train also runs to the airport, which stops at each station along the way. Travel time is a little over an hour. The train leaves from the Paveletsky railway station.
- the most costly, but comfortable way is Aeroexpress, which, in my opinion, has become completely insolent and since May 1, 2014, it raises the fare to 400 rubles (now it is still 340 rubles). The electric train also leaves the Paveletsky railway station, travels non-stop, travel time is about 40 minutes.
We chose the snickering Aeroexpress because there was a time limit. An hour later we were in the airport building. Domodedovo, although a stupid airport, is difficult to get lost in it. We find our flight on the board and go to the required counters.
Electronic check-in and seat selection
We checked in for the plane in advance via the Internet. It opens 24 hours before departure. On the Etihad Airways website, select the "Check-in" item in the window that opens, enter your last name, point of departure and booking number (PNR).
The system then shows you the flight information and the seats booked upon purchase. They can be changed for free: under your own names you will see the cabin of your plane and free / occupied seats. On the penultimate page, be careful: it describes items that are prohibited from transportation or must be declared without fail. I didn't get it at first. The page was in English and I didn't go into the meaning. I just clicked "Yes", thinking that this is how to agree with the rules of the airline. Then it turned out that I allegedly indicated the presence of dangerous items in the luggage. In this case, the registration will not be completed. I quickly realized what was happening and went through it again. Now I clicked "No" and I was thrown to the last page. Here you will be asked to print a confirmation of registration, send it to your e-mail or mobile phone.

We had to fly to the capital of the UAE by plane. Don't be surprised if you don't see Etihad's signature livery on the ship. Several planes of the Indian airline Jet Airways fly from Moscow to Abu Dhabi and back, a quarter of which is owned by Etihad Airways.
At the entrance to the salon, by tradition, there are stewardesses and stewards. The uniforms are cool! The oriental flavor was immediately felt. Each passenger seat has a small pillow, a blanket sealed in cellophane and headphones (also sealed). Immediately after takeoff and climb, smiling stewardesses spread the menu (in Arabic, English and Russian). I will not list what it included (the names of the dishes can be seen in the photo below).
During the flight, which lasted five hours, they were fed several times, and also served drinks. By the way, you can ask not only traditional mineral water or juice, but also alcohol. The list includes beer, wine, vodka, rum, gin and whiskey. You can ask to mix a cocktail, for example, Bloody Mary. I advise you not to be shy and ask what you want. Abuse, of course, is also not worth it, asking every 20 minutes for something strong.
In general, you will not be bored on the flight. Moreover, the Etihad planes are equipped with the E-Box multimedia system. What is she like? The seat in front of the passenger has a built-in 10-inch screen and a remote control for controlling the system.
By plugging in headphones, you can watch movies, listen to music and play a variety of casual games. Unfortunately, most of the films have not been translated into Russian, but you can still find something to your liking (comedy, drama, action or cartoon). The music presented in the system is also not rich in world-famous performers, but again, rummaging around, you can stumble upon something pleasant to your ear. And you can play Tetris or primitive races using the same control panel. As you can see, time will fly by.
General impression
Before that, I made all the flights on Russian airlines and carriers from the countries of the former USSR (Transaero, Nordwind, UIA, UTair) and maybe that's why I was very pleased with the Etihad Airways service.
