This carriage has increased comfort. It contains 9 double boxes. Usually all 18 places are lower.

REFERENCE: In the Swift, coupes have an upper and lower bunk.

The conductor's compartment is located at the beginning, and the toilets are located at the beginning and end. Drinking water available, general air conditioning.

SV in a standard train: photo

The berths are equipped with softer backrests than in a regular coupe. The entire furnishings are close to home: a comfortable table, a built-in wardrobe, an armchair, additional reading lights, a mirror on the wall and doors.

Also on the wall of each sleeping compartment there is a button to call the conductor.

The bathroom is wider than in a regular compartment or reserved seat. It is mandatory to have a dry toilet, which can be used throughout the entire journey, regardless of stops. There is a dispenser with liquid soap, toilet paper, disposable toilet seats, and paper towels.

The corridor is cleaned daily by a conductor. Another feature is the cozy interior: there is a carpet on the floor, curtains or drapes on the windows.

From the outside it looks the same as any other.

You can see the interior inside here.

Photos of the cars can also be viewed on the Russian Railways website.

Moreover, the interior design will be excellent on different routes.

IMPORTANT: Part of the compartment in "Strizh" is sold as a whole, and 1 or 2 passengers can travel.

The ticket price includes meals, bed linen, and a sanitary kit. All this is provided by the guides. The shelves are located both on the lower tier and on the upper.

Inside there is a retractable ladder to the top shelf, a safe, sockets, and a screen for watching videos. Each compartment has its own bathroom with shower.

What does the SV 31 train look like?

If you have a long trip ahead railway transport, then it’s not worth saving.

By choosing such places, you will travel in comfort, enjoying your personal space, cozy atmosphere and scenery outside the window.

Railway transport in Belarus remains largely the same as it was during Soviet times. The rolling stock is being updated slowly, speeds are practically not increasing, and the quality of services is from the same era. At the same time, low prices, the state to some extent provides support to the railway, the lines are not closed. I decided to personally evaluate what kind of service the Belarusian Railway in SV carriages running within the country.

In fact, it is not such a trivial task to find an option with a SV that does not travel outside of Belarus. It is quite reasonable that the road is gradually transferring interregional transportation to seated cars - the distances are very short. And in this case, the SV is justified only as an opportunity to retire from everyone and calmly get to your destination. From Minsk to Vitebsk, Brest and Grodno you can travel by yourself expensive ticket on passing trains (to western regional centers- trains from Moscow, to cultural capital- “Zvyazdoy”, which goes to St. Petersburg). It is impossible to get to Mogilev by SV cars at all. There are two options in Gomel! Firstly, it passes Minsk-Simferopol (but only in summer), and secondly, the regular passenger train No. 708 also has a SV. I used this option.

I have been buying tickets for a long time through the official website of the Belarusian Railways. I'm passing there electronic registration And I don’t deal with paper coupons at all. Very comfortably! I highly recommend it! The price of travel to SV to Gomel is 194,900 rubles, plus a small commission is charged for processing through the Network. Still, the cost is cheap in my opinion. Transport prices in Belarus are from the era of communism. For comparison, a seat in the 708 will cost you 45 thousand, and a compartment 96 thousand. But there are cheaper options, this train is, as they say, a flagship.

In the evening I get to the station by taxi. My train is on the third track at the second platform. Car SV is the 7th from the tail (a train of the Gomel formation, so it travels in the “right” direction from Gomel), and while I’m walking towards it, I notice that some cars still have inscriptions of the branded train “Sozh”, which ran on this thread (?). Now the concept of “branded” is being abandoned in Belarusian Railways, although the compositions still differ in cost. By the way, the “company” was operating within the country even before Polotsk and, it seemed, that was all.

In general, I present my passport and get into the carriage. The SV, of course, is not new, but rebuilt at the Gomel Car Repair Plant. Judging by the interiors - a long time ago, still with those ideas of beauty and prosperity.

When buying a ticket, I always take the 33rd seat in the compartment or the 15th in the CB. This little life hack allows you to be left without travel companions on non-busy days, because people still have a strong idea that traveling “near the toilet” is less comfortable. I agree, if you are in a reserved seat, and even more so in a side seat, then so be it. But in a coupe or SV? I don't see any difference. The 33rd seat is the penultimate lower one in the farthest compartment - thanks to its purchase, people are left with the option of “two upper ones near the toilet” or one lower one. Agree, interest in such places has been reduced.

The compartment is dark while the train is at the station. Unfortunately, I can’t turn on any lights at all; I only use what I get from the corridor. Very strange.

The beds are luxuriously wide and softly upholstered. Even a thug like me will sleep comfortably on this one.

True, the drive is only 4 hours - the issue of sleep is not relevant.

I immediately decide to take a look in the mirror that hangs from reverse side doors.

The train starts moving, lights are turned on. There are two types of lighting here - at the head as usual, and fluorescent light from the ceiling. The night light shines much more pleasantly, so I leave it.

I am exploring the possibilities of the carriage. There is an external air conditioning unit hanging on the ceiling – it shouldn’t be hot when driving in the summer. But the window also opens, unfortunately, according to the latest Belarusian fashion - a folding one, with a small gap. Practice shows that on hot days there will not be enough air flow.

The control unit is tiny. Light from the ceiling, call the conductor, radio volume control. It was not possible to turn on the radio, so I traveled the entire way to Gomel in silence without the howls of Allegrova and Gazmanov. I think that's a good thing.

On the table is a menu with a standard set of tea, coffee and instant noodles. A set of linen is not included in the ticket price and costs 18 thousand. On “simpler” trains, the set is cheaper by a couple of thousand.

Shock, but true: the toilet on the train is not a closed circuit (bio), but an ordinary hole in a toilet. Accordingly, it should close at stops. There was a small LCD TV attached to the wall of the compartment, which, alas, did not broadcast anything. All three channels transmitted a calming blue color.

The 708 goes to Gomel without a single stop in just over 4 hours. There are faster options (in particular, I travel from Gomel to Minsk during the day in 3.5 hours), so I arrive as early as 10:17 p.m.

I didn’t get a fellow traveler; there were generally 6-7 passengers in the carriage, including me. I’m ready to overpay for loneliness, but, frankly, the status of the carriage does not correspond to the services provided. Just a storefront, but without upper shelves.

Anyone who has ever thought about traveling by train could not help but learn about the SV train, especially if they wanted to make their trip special. After all, such a class has long been associated with comfort and service. high level. It’s no secret that this method of travel is not cheap, and in order to decide to buy a ticket, you need to have a sufficient amount of knowledge about it. And if there is a need for them, then this article will tell you about the features of such cars and answer the main question: “What is this - an SV train?”

Types of SV cars

The decoding of the abbreviation SV is simple - sleeping car. It is not for nothing that carriages of this class are considered one of the most comfortable on the market. this moment. Their layout allows you to travel in conditions much more comfortable than in simple compartment cars. How is the coupe different from the SV? They differ from them by having two-seater coupes instead of four-seater ones. Today, there are four layouts of compartments in such cars.

The main division is based on the number of compartments: there can be 8 or 9. Accordingly, the first are designed to carry 16 passengers, the second - 18. The arrangement of seats may be different, but in any case, the train will only have double compartments.

Sleeping car compartment

Cars with 8 compartments come in two modifications. In the first, the sleeping places are located one above the other. Additionally there is a folding table, a wardrobe and an armchair. The main difference is the washbasin combined with the adjacent compartment, which has a shower. There are two toilets, which are located at different ends of the carriage, although this is not a feature of this particular layout. Another type offers compartments in which the beds are located side by side, so a separate shower had to be sacrificed. But there is a common one.

Cars with 9 compartments are also divided into two types. In the first, the sleeping places are opposite each other, in the second, above each other. And if the first combination does not offer any more amenities, then the second has a separate washbasin for each compartment. There are no showers in such carriages; toilets are located similarly to 8-compartment carriages.

In any case, such schemes are more convenient for passengers. Fewer seats reduce the load on the toilets, and there are never queues. The conductors can devote enough time to any passenger. The noise level is significantly lower.

Schemes of SV Russian Railways cars

In order for the carriage to meet the passenger's expectations, he must first know its layout. The presence of a shower allows you to make multi-day trips without sacrificing convenience. Therefore, you need to be very careful when choosing.

Classes of service

If everything is relatively clear with the types of cars, then the classes of service on NE trains can confuse anyone, because they are not easy to decipher. They differ not only in the classes themselves, but also in the carriers to which the trains belong. The manufacturer plays an important role.

FPK

The carrier JSC Federal Passenger Company offers the following classes of service:

  • 1B and 1E. Maximum service. A carriage of this class is always equipped with air conditioning and a dry closet. This means you can forget about sanitary zones. You will be offered a sanitary kit, bed linen and the latest newspapers. The ticket price includes meals and drinks upon request of the passenger. The difference between B and E is that in the first case one person buys both places. But in this case, he has the right to transport a pet with him.
  • 1T. The equipment of the carriage corresponds to the previous class. The difference is that the list of additional services is not so wide.
  • 1U. Reduced version 1B. A carriage with air conditioning and a dry closet awaits the passenger. He will be given bed linen. Since the entire compartment has been purchased, you can transport your pet.
  • 1L. One of budget options. Such carriages may not have a dry closet. Otherwise, the conditions correspond to class 1U.
  • 1D (tourist). In addition to the lack of a dry closet, there is no possibility to transport animals.

These classes will be served by the 9-compartment carriages mentioned earlier. For branded trains, 8-seater options are mainly used. This means that the service classes there offer a slightly different range of services. For example, consider the classification of the Swift train:

  • 1F. In addition to the list of services from the carriage with the 9th compartment, the passenger will be offered either a separate washbasin and shower, or a shared shower. There will be a TV in the compartment and you can connect to Wi-Fi.
  • 1E. Full redemption of the compartment is required, no matter by one or two passengers. You can carry a pet. Otherwise similar to the previous class.
  • 1T. The difference is the absence of additional services.

All three classes include food, hygiene kits and bed linen.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the RIC cars. These cars are produced in Tver together with the Siemens AG concern. They are used on international routes. At the moment they are found in 3 types. Previously, they had a two- and three-seater layout. In the latter, the sleeping places were located one above the other.

RIC carriage

Nowadays it is difficult to find such ones, because they are being replaced by cars with a standard 4-seater layout. Therefore, only double variants are used as SV cars. They are equipped with a shared shower, keyless access to the compartment (as in some hotels - with a plastic card) and an electronic display with basic information.

TKS

Let's move on to the carrier "TKS"

It shapes branded trains, equipping them with high-class carriages. These new, modern and comfortable carriages with excellent finishing quality can bring the traveler closer to the comfort of home. The manufacturer has implemented modern engineering solutions in the field of air conditioning, ventilation and sound insulation.

Note! The coupe looks very presentable. A wide range of services is also provided: standard and additional, for which experienced staff are responsible, who have undergone special training to improve the level of service.

SV cars are presented in two classes of service:

  • SV+ (1B “Business TK”). Such cars are present on the routes Moscow - Volgograd and Moscow - Saratov. The passenger will have unlimited food and drinks, free internet, a mother and child room and a shower. It is possible to transport your pet and order a taxi to the station.
  • Car SV (1B “Business TK”). Same services except shower.

All compartments are equipped with televisions, the latest newspapers are available, and the sanitary and hygienic set is expanded. Please note that the carrier offers separate services for passengers with children.

Important! For babies, you can order a special playpen, which is designed taking into account all safety requirements. For older children, the conductor can place a safety bar on the top shelf. These services are free, but require prior reservation.

The list of additional services is very wide; it can be found on the company’s website.

Grand Express

The private Grand Express train, which is sometimes compared to a hotel on wheels for its comfort, consists of 16 carriages. 4 of them are SV cars:

  • Premium (1E);
  • Premium Single (1L);
  • 1st class – Business (1B);
  • 1st class – Standard (1U).

Premium car compartment

In terms of equipment and service, it is equal to the best analogues from Europe. The highest level of equipment, specially trained staff and a wide range of services indicate that the passenger is at the forefront. Therefore, he has the right to be called one of the best. Despite unusual name SV cars, it is quite simple to understand.

The compartment of the Premium car is purchased in its entirety; two people can travel. It has a TV, electrical outlets, a separate sink and a safe. Air conditioning and heating can be controlled. The lower sofa converts into a 100 cm wide bed, the upper shelf (80 cm) folds down. There is a separate chair.

On a note: The ticket price includes breakfast with dessert, hot drinks and water. The Internet is distributed free of charge. Expanded sanitary and hygienic set.

The Premium Single carriage provides the same compartments and the same service, but only one passenger travels per compartment.

1st class – Business. A carriage with double compartments with lower berths. There is no washbasin, the sanitary and hygienic kit is standard. Otherwise, the service corresponds to higher classes.

All three classes provide transfer at the point of arrival.

1st class – Standard. Similar to Business, but without transfer.

Car compartment 1st class

Tverskoy Express

The last carrier whose trains run SV cars is Tverskoy Express. It has a fast train "Megapolis", which, judging by the description, provides its passengers with decent service.

Its carriages are equipped with air conditioning and dry closets. There are sockets in the compartment and the Internet is available. All passengers are given slippers.

The carrier provides 3 classes of service:

  • 1B. The passenger has the right to count on a hot breakfast and a set of meals. Tea and coffee without restrictions. Plus bed linen, sanitary kit and newspapers.
  • 1L. There is no hygiene kit or press.
  • 1U. Meals are not included in the ticket price.

Buying tickets

If a passenger decides to travel in carriages of this class, then purchasing a ticket will not be an obstacle for him: tickets can be purchased at the station ticket office or without leaving home.

SV coupes have always been considered one of the most prestigious. Taking into account modern technologies and services, we can confidently say that the passenger will spend his trip without noticing any restrictions or inconveniences. If he values the time spent traveling, then he will definitely choose it, because now he knows everything about SV: what comfort and decent service are.

When purchasing a train ticket online, you may notice that each carriage belongs to a particular class. They are abbreviated as 2K, 2L, 1S, 3E, etc. The essence of the designation is to show the passenger the type of carriage (reserved seat, coupe, luxury, etc.) and an approximate list of services that should be provided in it.

The details depend on the carrier - each of them implies its own nuances by the class of the car. Most Russian trains are formed by the Federal Passenger Company (JSC FPC), and in general the principles are the same. Therefore, below the marking of wagons is explained according to the FPC standards with individual additions from other carriers.

RIC cars

IN international trains(Moscow - Berlin, Moscow - Paris, etc.) there may be cars of a fundamentally different layout - RIC size cars. They are divided into compartments, each of which can be double or triple.

  • 2-seater RIC carriages are similar in terms of conditions and markings to luxury class carriages.
  • 3-seater RIC cars (class 2I) are three-seater compartments with vertical shelves. There is an armchair and a washbasin. Bed linen is included in the ticket price.
