Many novice skiers and snowboarders who come to the Krasnaya Polyana resorts do not understand which slopes to take their first steps on. These can be found on any route - frozen in front of a steep hill or flying head over heels downwards.

How do they get there? Some people think that the green slopes are too easy and climb the blue ones. But almost all blue trails have sections that are more like the red ones. And then, if there is no way back, the ski lifts are far away, chaos begins - people turn into uncontrollable projectiles, whistling past us.

Others simply cannot find the tracks they need because Krasnopolyansk resorts have become large and it is easy to get lost. And the areas for beginners are so small that they can easily be overlooked.

Now we'll fix everything! Are you with me? Dive for beginners!

Ski slopes for beginners at Rosa Khutor, Gorki Gorod, Gazprom

If you come to our resorts for the first time and have never skied/boarded before big mountains, then you need to start with the simplest areas.

Why? Because they are almost flat and it is convenient to practice the first movements on them. Because mostly beginners ride here, and they ride slowly - safely. Because in such paddling pools There is no shame in falling - everyone falls here.

These slopes are also short and absolutely not attractive for experienced skiers/snowboarders, so the queues here are not as long as at other lifts during the peak season.

And there are always a lot of kind instructors here, and if anything happens, they will help you.

Once you learn how to turn and control your speed on such tracks, you can move on to blue tracks.

Not all green slopes at the Krasnaya Polyana ski resorts are created equal. If such, the sight of which can easily paralyze a beginner - he or she will never budge. I’ll show you those that are really comfortable for beginners.

At the Rosa Khutor ski resort, very little space is allocated for beginners - a track along the Chalet chairlift (4-seater) and then a Lilliputian area with a belt lift (magic carpet) for those who are completely green. Both routes are highlighted in red on the map.

There are other green slopes on the resort map (B52 and Plateau), but they are not suitable for training, as they are narrow and long paths designed to connect different ski areas and access the ski lifts for descent.

Gorki Gorod is an all-season ski resort located in protected and most beautiful places in Krasnaya Polyana, with modern hotels and apartments, spa centers, restaurants, developed infrastructure for sports and comfortable relaxation.

This is much more than just a ski resort. People come here to relax and have fun all year round. Moreover, skiing can be a pleasant addition to the overall program, but not the main goal.

Ski resort "Gorki Gorod"

The resort can be roughly divided into two parts. One – “Gorki Gorod” +540 – is located at an altitude of 540 meters above sea level. Its other part is “Gorki Gorod” +960 - respectively, at an altitude of 960 meters. They are connected to each other by cable cars and roads.

In the “Lower City” there are two hotels and the main apart-complexes, SPA complexes, sports facilities, a shopping gallery, a congress center, gourmet restaurants, children's playgrounds, and an indoor water park. Entertainment is mainly concentrated in this part of the resort, and therefore Gorki Gorod +540 is more suitable for having fun and active rest.

The “Upper City” is to some extent reminiscent of the resort settlements of the Mediterranean. Here you will find high-quality apartments, 7 hotels with 996 rooms, and a huge SPA center (9000 square meters). This part of the resort is chosen by those who prefer comfort, peace and privacy on vacation.

Those who love skiing and mountains are drawn here, first of all, to the “Mountain Carousel”. The complex is located on the territory of a resort in the village of Esto-Sadok on the slopes of the mountains.

“Mountain Carousel” is 27 kilometers of the best ski slopes, which, according to snowboarding and skiing enthusiasts, are in no way inferior to European slopes. The altitude at which the tracks are located ranges from 960 to 1460 meters. They vary in difficulty: “red” and “black”, “green” and “blue” - they are available for both experienced and beginner skiers.

Last season, additional trails and lighted trails for evening skiing were opened in the eastern sector of the resort. And if there is a problem with snow, it can be easily solved with the help of snow cannons, which make the mountain slopes perfect at night. The use of artificial snow is a guarantee that mountain slopes and skiers will not be left without snow under any circumstances. And the winter season, as expected, will last until the very end of April.

12 chairlifts and gondola lifts deliver skiers to the mountain slopes (transfer “steps” are located at an altitude of 960 m, 1459 m and 2200 m). Lifting in every area cable car on average up to 15 minutes. And to get from the launch site (altitude 540 meters) to the “Circus-3” zone (the farthest point) it will take a little more than an hour.

The resort offers ski equipment rental. Instructors are always ready to give lessons and conduct master classes for beginner skiers.

Little guests are given special care here. For them, under the guidance of trained children's instructors, lessons on mastering skiing and snowboarding are organized at the children's ski school. Special slopes have been created for children's skiing, which are ascended in safe lift cabins.

Gorki City Mall

But you can have fun at the resort, not only by skiing. Many interesting activities await young and adult guests of the resort at the Gorki City Mall shopping and entertainment center, opened in February of this year. There are more than 100 attractions for children, shopping areas, a nightclub, bowling alley, air hockey, and a digital cinema. In this center there is a place to have a tasty snack, including for children.

The highlight of the Gorki City Mall shopping center is, of course, the Mountain Beach water park.

This unique beach with natural warm sand (it is also heated in winter) is located directly under the transparent roof of the shopping and entertainment center, allowing the rays of the sun to pass through. There's a lot of sun, a simulated wave pool ocean waves, 7 water slides of varying heights and complexity, large heated water pool, jacuzzi, shallow children's pool. You can have fun and relax in the water park all year round.

Summer holidays at the Gorki Gorod resort

In the summer season, Gorki Gorod provides a lot of options for active recreation in the mountains, which can be combined with relaxing idleness in the Imereti Lowland on the beach. This option for a comprehensive holiday is especially attractive for those who are interested not only in beach pleasures.

To test how strong and resilient you are, you can go to conquer the Rope Park, go for a walk or horseback ride along eco-trails with a visit to relict forests, the Medvezhiy waterfall and other protected areas of nature, do yoga in the mountains, go mountain biking down the speedway at the Bike Park.

Tourist maps of Krasnaya Polyana: guides to the resorts of Rokha Khutor, City of Gorki (Estosadok), Gazprom Laura, Rosa Plateau and Krasnaya Polyana. Schemes of routes, maps of slopes for skiing, diagrams of eco-trails for hiking

Keywords: Map of Krasnaya Polyana, map of Rosa Khutor, diagram of cable cars, diagram of mountain routes, tourist map Gorki city.

Before going on a trip, it would be a good idea to imagine in advance how to get to the place where the hotel is located, where the nearest shops, cafes and restaurants are, attractions and other necessary and not so necessary places and objects. And if you are going on vacation to a resort associated with active recreation, especially with skiing or hiking, I would like to imagine in advance what awaits you in this regard. Well, if we are talking about a vacation at the Krasnaya Polyana resort, then such maps and diagrams are definitely worth looking at in advance, and even better, saving them in your smartphone or tablet so that they are always at hand. However, as a last resort, paper versions of tourist guides, which you can always purchase on the spot, have not yet been canceled :)

Scheme map of the Krasnaya Polyana resort

Those who are going to visit Krasnaya Polyana for the first time, as a rule, do not have a very good idea what kind of places this is, what is generally called “Krasnaya Polyana” (in the tourist sense), how far is Rosa Khutor, and indeed, what is located in the surrounding area and how far away you will have to get there and how high to climb. We have already discussed the topic of choosing a specific Krasnaya Polyana resort, but first it will be very useful to carefully study the map of Krasnaya Polyana (the entire resort). Those who are going to Krasnaya Polyana for the first time for a ride should undoubtedly look at the map diagram of all the slopes and descents:

On this moment These are all more or less informative and readable maps of the Krasnaya Polyana resorts that I managed to find. As soon as something new appears, I will try to immediately add or update content.

I want to wish you have a nice rest! And don’t forget that everything important and helpful information collected on our page

Main characteristics of cable cars and ski slopes

11 gondola and chairlifts with a capacity of 2,400 people/hour.

Ski slopes of different levels of difficulty from “green” to “black” with a total length of about 30 km from an altitude of +2340 m to +960 m.

Illuminated routes with a total length of 2 km, evening skating from +1130 m to +960 m.

Artificial snow trails with a total length of 4.9 km from +1500 m to +960 m, 64 snow cannons.

In the winter season 2017/2018, 11 lifts operate. The main lift is three stages of the Main Cable Car with 8-seater gondolas (K-1, K-2 and K-3), which lift to a height of 2200 m. Three more chairlifts (K-4, K-5 and K -6) work in the “Circus-2” and “Circus-3” ski areas. "Circus-2" is located at an altitude of about 2000 m under the Black Pyramid mountain (2375 m - the highest high point descent at the resort). "Circus 3" is located right behind it. From the station “ Upper Town” there is also a chairlift (K-8), which takes you to a height of 1130 m.

“Gorki Gorod” has trails for all categories of riders. The third stage of the Main Cable Car, which starts from the top, is suitable for confident skiers and snowboarders; the second stage has tracks of medium difficulty and an excellent training track for beginners.

Under “Circus-2” there is a ramp to the “Eastern Sector” ski area. It is connected to the Upper City station by one gondola lift (K-10) and three chairlifts (K-11, K-12, K-13). In the upper part of the “Eastern Sector” there are difficult red tracks, in the lower part there are green and blue tracks that are convenient for training.

Black tracks

The climate of Krasnaya Polyana is ideal for lovers of powder: soft, without severe frosts, and at the same time with heavy, prolonged snowfalls. Their peak usually occurs at the end of January - beginning of February.

The resort has four freeride zones: two in the Central and two in the Eastern sector of the resort. All of them are located above 1000 meters above sea level, where the softest and fluffiest snow is. These sections are very difficult and unpredictable and can only be ridden with special training.

Evening skiing in winter

From 1130 m to 960 m.

For those who do not have the opportunity to learn to ride during the day, the resort offers the opportunity to learn by the light of the night sky. In the 2017/2018 winter season, two trails are available for evening skiing: “blue” (8E) and “green” (8A), which are equipped with an artificial snowmaking and lighting system, which makes evening skiing enjoyable and safe. During the evening skiing period, you can also use the drag ropeway (K-9) with a length of about 300 m, which is most suitable for beginners.

In the evening, we are pleased to offer our guests a full range of related services: rental of ski equipment, classes with experienced instructors, as well as a variety of food outlets where you can have fun with a friendly company.

Attention!

We do not recommend trying your hand at “black” trails and freeride areas for those who have recently started riding. You risk not being able to cope with a difficult area, which can be fraught with various injuries. There are many dangers here that we never tire of warning our guests about.

Most routes end in drops and rocks, so before you set off on them, you need to know the exits that you can use. For this purpose, novice riders need to contact professional off-piste instructors, who are offered by the resort's accredited instructor schools. Their services cost from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles per person per day, including training and equipment.

We remind you that under no circumstances should you drive in an unknown direction following someone’s trail. This mark on the descent could have been left by a resort employee who knows the area well and is much better prepared than you.
