The observation deck is located here for a reason. Pattaya's highest elevation is located on Mount Pratumnak, where the city's television tower is also built. In addition, near the site there is another holy place for local residents - a monument to Admiral Krom, who founded the national navy.

Another Buddhist temple in Pattaya, Wat Khao Phra Bat, was built on the territory of the observation deck. Here you can take photos near the Buddha statue or undergo a blessing ceremony with a local monk.

Wat Yan Temple

Full title temple complex sounds like Wat Yansangwararam, but to make it easier to pronounce it is simply shortened to Wat Yang. The area around the temple is incredibly beautiful, a lot of greenery, well-groomed paths, fountains, flower beds and a pond.

The main shrine of this attraction is the imprint or cast of Buddha's foot. To get to the imprint you need to climb the hill, to which 300 steps lead from the temple. Once you reach the top, you will see not only the religious value, but also the amazing view.

Wat Yan welcomes visitors all year round and every day. The temple opening hours are from 8:00 to 16:00, visiting the temple is free. You will only have to pay for the ascent to the Buddha's footprint - 50 baht.

A few kilometers from Wat Yan there is another attraction of Pattaya - the Golden Buddha Rock. The rock is lined with golden slabs that repeat the outline of the Buddha's silhouette during the sculpture.

Interesting fact is the size of the Buddha image. It is considered the largest in the world. The height of the golden display is more than 100 meters, and the width is almost 70 m. The date of creation of the image falls on 1996, when it was the fiftieth anniversary of the reign of King Rama 4 in Thailand.

Where to get a free map of Pattaya in Russian

Getting a map of Pattaya in Russian is not difficult; there are many places in Pattaya where they will provide it to you for free, so there is no need to buy a map in advance or download it from the Internet. In the digital age, paper maps are just as popular as digital ones, because you can take notes on a paper map of Pattaya, it will never run out of battery and you can safely fold it in four and put it in your back pocket of jeans. The paper map of Pattaya has another big advantage that digital maps do not have; on the back of the card, in addition to advertising, there is also very useful tourist information (mini phrase book, names of Thai dishes, etc.)

A free map of Pattaya in Russian can be found:

  • in exchange offices - many currency exchange offices provide a Pattaya map for free, you can take it at the counter at the exchange office and it is not necessary to change money;
  • in Pattaya hotels - most hotels in Pattaya have free maps of the city, you can find them at the reception and you don’t have to be a guest of this hotel;
  • in city stores - in the most popular stores in Pattaya (Seven Eleven, Family Mart, etc.) you can find advertising stands with free cards (it is advisable to check with the sellers whether the card is free or not). You can also find paid maps of Pattaya in stores (mostly as part of guidebooks), but why would you buy a guidebook for the sake of a map;
  • in large shopping centers in Pattaya - in most large shopping centers there are promoters working and handing out all sorts of leaflets, do not rush to dismiss them, among the advertising you can find a decent map of Pattaya in Russian.

Most free maps of Pattaya will be full of advertisements, such is the price for freeness, although some of the advertisements may be useful.

Pattaya districts on the map

Getting around Pattaya is very easy, especially if you have a detailed map of Pattaya in your hands. The entire city is divided into several districts, most of which face the sea and are the most touristy. There are only four largest areas in Pattaya: Nak Lua (in the north of Pattaya), Central Pattaya, South Pattaya, Pratamnak (the most expensive tourist accommodation here, this area is sometimes called “Russian Pattaya”) and Jomtien in the south. In addition to these areas, Pattaya is adjacent to many villages, which make up a densely populated agglomeration with a total population of more than 500,000 people.

If you look at the map of Pattaya, you can see how the city is structured and it’s really very easy to navigate. Wide streets run parallel to the sea (Pattaya Beach Road, Second Road, Third Road, etc.), these wide streets are connected to each other by the so-called Jays (Soi, which means lane), that’s the whole simple logic of the structure of Pattaya.

Pattaya area Naklua or North Pattaya

The Naklua area is a respectable area in the very north of Pattaya; there are many expensive hotels where Russian tourists with high incomes like to stay. In addition to hotels, there are many condominiums in the Naklua area, some apartments also belong to our compatriots.

Sights of Naklua district:

  • main bus station, buses to Bangkok depart from here;
  • large fish market;
  • small fishing village;
  • the temple of truth is the tallest wooden structure in the world, built without a single nail;
  • several beaches.

Pattaya Central District

The noisiest and most crowded area of the city is Central Pattaya; all the free space of the streets here is occupied by street vendors, massage parlors and numerous hotels and guesthouses.

Along the beach Central Pattaya The main streets of the area, congested with traffic, stretch: Pattaya Beach Rd, Second Road and Third Road, Central Road and South Road.

Contrary to erroneous opinions that say that the famous Walking Street is located in Central Pattaya - this is not true, Walking Street is located in South Pattaya (this can be seen on the map of Pattaya). But nevertheless (in Central Pattaya) most of the city's large shopping centers are located in this area, the largest of which is called Central Festival.

A pleasant feature of Central Pattaya is its transport accessibility. You can get to/from the Central Pattaya area cheaply by any tuk-tuk, of which there are many, and there are even more routes.

South Pattaya area

The world-famous street of debauchery and entertainment, Volkin Street, is located in this area of Pattaya, however, apart from this street, the South Pattaya area cannot boast of anything else.

There are several important tourist sites in the South Pattaya area that are worth mentioning: South Bus Station, Bali Hai Sea Pier (from where ferries go to Koh Larn), go-kart track, Big C hypermarket.

The biggest attraction of the South Pattaya area is Volkin Street, which during the day is no different from the rest of the streets of Pattaya, but after 18:00 the street is closed to vehicle traffic and hundreds of bars, discos, restaurants, massage parlors open on it (some of which specialize in massage for men) and other tourist attractions.

Neon advertising lights spread like water from Woking Street along the alleys, which are also seething with night life, and numerous Go-Go bars and hotels with hourly rates (Short time rooms) clearly hint at an interesting continuation of the evening.

Pattaya Pratumnak area

The Pratumnak area begins just behind the Bali Hai Pier. This isolated area of Pattaya can be safely called the most respectable and most Russian, and the locals call it “Russian Pattaya”. Many of our compatriots live in this quiet and pleasant area, some rent apartments for a long time in condominiums, and others have their own property.

Today I pulled myself together and took 7 photos different cards Pattaya. All maps are different and have different details, some show almost all the hotels, some show the majority of seven eleven, some are more schematic, some have detailed alleys.

If you are in Pattaya and want to take a paper map, it is very easy to do. Free cards are available from all sellers of tours and excursions, in all newspaper stores, at counters at the entrances to shopping centers, and at reception desks in hotels. You should ask saying Free Pattaya map (Free Pattaya map in Russian free map of Pattaya).

All maps can be downloaded in high resolution by clicking on the map.

Almost all hotels are shown on this map of Pattaya. Also on the Russian map of Pattaya you can find attractions, they are depicted with the letter T. For example, MiniSiam, Bottle Museam, Underwater World, Tuxedo Magic Theater, etc.

Video from Igor s detailed description maps of Pattaya, retail outlets, attractions and much more

All hotels, main streets and lane numbers are marked very schematically.

The most general schematic map of Pattaya in Russian.

Almost all hotels and alleys are labeled on this Russian map of Pattaya.

The map of Pattaya in Russian shows two main hospitals for tourists: Pattaya International Hospital and Pattaya Memorial Hospital, all large Tesco Lotus and Big C malls, as well as most of seven eleven stores.

This map of Pattaya shows three-dimensionally the main shopping centers: Central Festival, Mike Shopping Mall, Royal Garden, etc. All alleys are well signed.

When going on vacation to a new country, a tourist is always visited by a slight feeling of fear, especially if there is no knowledge of the language and no travel experience. “What should I do if I get lost? How to find a hotel? A map of the tourist’s holiday area can give a feeling of confidence in walking. In the article you will find detailed maps of Pattaya and its areas.

Theoretically, Pattaya is not a big resort. In the very first days you will adapt and be able to find your way to the hotel without a map. But nevertheless, we invite you to familiarize yourself with the general map of the resort:

As you can see on the map, most of the resort faces the sea. By district, the city can be divided into the center - beach and second streets; the northern part - the tourist area with hotels ends exactly as shown on the map; South part- is divided into Buddha Hill, shown on the map, and continues far south for about another 15 km.

City center
Pattaya

There are more hotels in the central part. On the one hand, residents of the center are lucky - the infrastructure for tourists is the most developed here. You don’t have to take a taxi, everything is within walking distance - shopping centers, markets, restaurants, cafes, Walking street - red light district, etc. On the other hand, the sea here is the most unsightly in the resort (see article Top hotels and Pattaya beaches)

The beach street faces the sea and has one-way traffic from north to south. The second street runs parallel to the beach street - but one-way traffic flows in the opposite direction - from south to north. Between the two main streets there are small jays - streets in Thai.

Also in the center, at the end of Walking Street, there is a pier from which ferries depart to the nearest island of Koh Larn. Ticket price is 30 baht, ferry schedule can be found on the map.

South - Buddha Hill and Jomtien Beach

If you look at general map Pattaya and Buddha Hill are located closer to the center, and the Jomtien coast stretches further south - all this is southern Pattaya.

Among tourists there are a lot of fans of Buddha Hill for holidays in Pattaya. Quite clean sea, wide beach line, prestigious quiet place, not far from the center. You still can’t reach the center on foot, shuttle transport for tourists can be provided by the hotel. Otherwise, taxis are available to tourists.

Buddha Hill smoothly merges into the Jomtien coastline; theoretically, it can also be divided into 2 parts - in the city and outside the city. The part of the city that runs along Jomtien Beach Street is located. Outside the city, this is the one that does not have a road along the coast. Conventionally, on the map a little further than the Sigma Hotel.

Tourists from hotels in Jomtien located in the city can use tuk-tuks running along the first beach street of Jomtien to the center. The fare is 10 baht per person (price may change upon arrival). But tourists living outside the city, unfortunately, will not be able to use route tuk-tuks, only a taxi or a bus shuttle from the hotel. But in the south of Pattaya there is the cleanest sea and a quiet and serene holiday.

North Pattaya - Naklua

The northern part of the resorts is called Naklua. This is a fairly prestigious part of the city; many 5* hotels are located here. If you are staying in a hotel on the seashore and want to go shopping in the center, you will have to take a taxi from the hotel. If you want to save money, you can walk to Naklua Street, wait for a tuk-tuk route and take it to the center. The tourist area of the northern part ends at the Garden Hotel Sea View, further north along the coast there are practically no hotels, a fishing village begins. Northern Hotel“Cholchan” is the farthest from the center and is located just outside Pattaya.

When returning to your hotels in the evening, you can always use the business card you took from the hotel in advance. This will save you from unnecessary explanations with the driver and using the card. Although, undoubtedly, a few days after your arrival, you will no longer need the card!

Welcome to Thailand!
