Feodosia railway station is a small Crimean station serving mainly domestic electric trains. The name of the city itself has ancient Greek roots and is translated as “given by God.”

The first railway service appeared in these parts in 1892. The road was actually laid along the seashore along the beach line. For a long time, the main station of the city was located at Aivazovskaya station (now it is the penultimate one). The Feodosiya station thus became the terminus in the city and formed a railway dead end. The mention of Aivazovsky in the name of the station is not accidental. The famous artist once invested a lot of energy in ensuring that the city got its own railway.

The first station building stood until the autumn of 1941 and was destroyed. The modern design of the station was built in 1956 under the leadership of architect M. I. Zaraisky.

At different times, the station served trains from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Minsk, Mogilev, and various cities of Ukraine. One of the most touching moments, according to the recollections of passengers, was the “March of the Slavyanka”, which was turned on when trains leaving Crimean peninsula. The station even has a small film history: it was depicted in the popular Soviet-era comedy “Sportloto-82”.

However, at the moment, Feodosia receives and sends only small internal trains with 3-4 cars.

The station has all the necessary infrastructure: ticket offices, manual and automatic lockers, toilets, comfortable waiting rooms, and a first-aid post. There is also a currency exchange office, a pharmacy, a newsstand, and a post office on the territory of the station.

In addition to the main building, the Feodosia station complex includes three low platforms.

There are many stalls with snacks and drinks on the station square. Due to the fact that Feodosia is in fact located on the central embankment of the city, there are many places around it where you can eat.

Changes in political relations between Russia and Ukraine for the worse led to the cessation of Russian Railways train traffic through Ukraine. Trains will be able to run directly to Russia after the completion of the Crimean Bridge.

The official opening of the railway part of the Crimean Bridge took place in December 2019. The first train departed from St. Petersburg to Sevastopol on December 23, in the opposite direction on December 25. Full rail service is planned to be established before the opening tourist season— May 2020.
