Aeroflot's fleet includes 22 wide-body Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The body length is 63.7 m. This model is considered the largest and most spacious among other airbuses in the A330 line. Cruising speed – 900 km/h. Maximum flight range – 9500 km, altitude – 12.5 km.

Airbuses 330-300 from Aeroflot carry out regular passenger transportation to domestic and international destinations. When planning a flight on an aircraft of this model, we recommend choosing in advance comfortable spot in the cabin for a comfortable flight.

In the article we will look at the cabin layout and where it is better to sit in the economy, business and comfort class of the Airbus 330-300 of Aeroflot airlines.

Description of Airbus A330 of Aeroflot airline

The Airbus A330-300 is based in three different cabin configurations.

Aeroflot Airbus fleet:

  1. One aircraft with a passenger capacity of 301 people: 265 economy class, 36 seats in the business cabin.
  2. Five Airbuses carrying 302 passengers: 268 in economy class and 34 in business class.
  3. 11 airliners with a comfortable cabin for 296 people: 268 seats in economy and 28 passenger seats in business class.

The cabin has a cozy interior and comfortable passenger seats for flights over any distance. It is equipped with a modern ventilation system, built-in monitors for passenger entertainment, lighting fixtures and sockets for charging gadgets. In the bow there is a special cabin for rest of the crew members. Separate restrooms are provided for each class of service.

Interior layout

The most comfortable seats on an Aeroflot Airbus

Aeroflot airbuses with three different cabin options have a minor difference: the number of seats and rows in service classes. We propose to consider the most comfortable seats in the Airbus cabin with a capacity of 301 people (265 economy class, 36 business class).

The first six rows are a business class cabin. The seats are arranged in pairs in three rows in a 2x2x2 configuration.

From 11 to 45 – economy class. The cabin has three rows of passenger seats in a 2x4x2 layout.

Economy

Located in two salons, located in the middle and rear parts of the aircraft (from 11 to 28 and from 29 to 45 rows). Exit from the plane between the cabins. Behind the last rows of each salon there are toilet rooms.

The most convenient and uncomfortable places in economy class:

  1. Rows 11 and 19 – seats with increased legroom. There are no passenger seats in front. The partition has special mechanisms for fixing the cradle. The most comfortable seats for passengers with children. Pregnant women can also be comfortably accommodated here. You can familiarize yourself with the rules for flying with a baby at Aeroflot.
  2. There are no portholes in row 15 near seats A and K.
  3. From rows 16 to 28 - there are portholes, but beautiful view airplane wings are hidden from the window.
  4. Row 29 – seats at the emergency exit. They have their advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantages is the increased legroom. The negative point is the close location to the toilet room.
  5. The most uncomfortable seats are located in rows 27-28 and 44-45. They are located next to the toilet. Some seats located in front of the wall do not change position due to locked mechanisms.
  6. From 41 to 45 there is a narrow passage between the rows, which is due to the narrowing of the aircraft body.
  7. In the middle row of row 41, the outboard seats protrude slightly into the aisle. During the flight, passengers may be hit by flight attendants passing with trolleys and other travelers heading to the toilet.

In the rear of the plane, the noise of the engine is more audible, but there are unlikely to be passengers with small children in the neighborhood.

In the middle part there is less motion sickness, but there is no beautiful view from the window.

From the first rows of economy class, flight attendants distribute drinks and food. There may be passengers nearby with babies who do not always tolerate long flights calmly.

Take these nuances into account when choosing the most comfortable seat in the economy class cabin of the Aeroflot Airbus A330.

Business

In an Airbus with the seat layout we have chosen, for example, the first six rows are a business class cabin. The seats are arranged in three rows of 2 seats (2x2x2).

All passenger seats have an extended seat with reclining backrests of almost 180 degrees. The places are located at a fairly large distance from each other. There is increased legroom in front of the seats.

Features of business class passenger seats:

  • Row 1 is located close to the dressing room and toilet, but the distribution of food and drinks begins from there;
  • The last row is close to economy class, where a noisy atmosphere can prevail.

In general, all business class seats in the Aeroflot Airbus A330 are quite comfortable and convenient for flights on domestic and international flights.

The airline offers an economy cabin service at a fixed rate. You can reserve the selected seat when purchasing an air ticket or when registering online on the carrier’s website. For those who did not have time to choose the most convenient place for the flight, the company offers to make a reservation at , selecting best option from free seats in the cabin.

Business class passengers can choose comfortable seats for their flight at no additional cost. This service is provided in the carrier's tariff plan.

The wide-body airliner Airbus A330 (Airbus A330) is used for medium and long-distance flights and has been produced since 1992.

In parks Russian airlines most common Airbus modifications A330-200 and A330-300. Capacity - from 253 to 440 passenger seats, depends not only on the modification (on the A330-200 the fuselage is shortened by almost 6 meters), but also on the cabin layout, which is determined by the airline.

The world's largest operator of Airbus A330 aircraft - Turkish Airlines. In Russia, these aircraft are operated on some regular flights of Aeroflot and Nordwind Airlines, on I Fly charters.

Nordwind Airlines (Nordwind, North Wind)

On board the Airbus A330-200, Nordwind has a two-class layout with 279 seats. This type of aircraft is the only one in the airline's fleet. tail number— VP-BYV.

The largest airliner of the A330 type. The airliner is capable of transporting 295 passengers in a three-class cabin (business, first and economy class), 335 people in two classes and up to 440 passengers in one class.

There are a huge number of different seating configurations and seats may vary widely.

Aeroflot uses 3 different configurations of the Airbus A330-300, however, if you consider the location of the seats, they are almost identical. Aeroflot has a total of 17 aircraft of this type:

    11 aircraft have 268 economy class and 28 business class seats.

    1 plane has 265 economy class seats and 36 business class seats.

    in 5 aircraft - 268 economy class seats and 34 business class seats.

All these aircraft are not very different in terms of seating arrangement. The main difference is the number of business class seats. Therefore, let us consider the most numerical configuration of this airliner(268/28) and tell you which places are better, which are worse and why. But these recommendations are suitable for all Aeroflot aircraft of this type.

A couple of general points about the seat arrangement in the Airbus A330-300 - their disadvantages and advantages.

    The seats that are located next to the window have the advantage that you can look out of it during the flight (this, of course, depends on the flight time and weather). If you fly at night, this advantage does not count. Also, your neighbor will not bother you if he wants to get up. These places have one drawback - it is not very convenient to leave it yourself. Therefore, if you don’t need to go to the toilet often or you intend to sleep through the entire flight, choose seats by the window.

    The seats located near the aisle have their own advantage - it is very easy to get up from if you need to go to the toilet. The disadvantages are that a neighbor may be disturbed if he needs to get up. Flight attendants with trolleys and passengers who walk through the cabin to the galley and toilets can also interfere. Therefore, if you are flying with a child and, most likely, you will have to go to the toilet often. Or you yourself need to go to the restroom more often, then choose from the edge of the seat.

    1-6 r. occupies business class. In business, the seats are very comfortable; they can be reclined almost 180 degrees. Let's mark some chairs in yellow, now we'll explain why. The first row is closest to the kitchen, toilet, and wardrobe - this will cause a little anxiety during the flight. This also applies to rows 5-6. Note that 5-6 rubles. located closest to the economic (and it is known to be noisy) class.

    On 11 and 29 r. Mountings for baby cradles have been supplied. Possible proximity to very small passengers who most likely will not be there for long flight, be quiet at all times.

    15 rub. K and A. In the layout of the 268/28 aircraft, there is no window near these seats.

    29 rubles: K.H,C,A. These places have both advantages and disadvantages. First, about the pros. There are emergency exits in front of them, so there is quite a lot of free space in front of the seats. It is possible to stretch out your legs comfortably, your knees will not rest against the back of the chair in front, and you can easily get up from the chair without disturbing anyone. This is very important on long flights. Now about the shortcomings. Toilets are located on the opposite side of these places. During the entire flight, people will pass by you at night and during the day, stand in small queues, and they may touch you with an elbow or step on your foot a couple of times during the flight. Also, although these aircraft have a vacuum drain system, unpleasant odors are possible. It also happens that passengers do not close the toilet doors behind them or the spring weakens and the door constantly opens. Another nuance of this row... There are large monitors in front of you (and they don’t turn off!) This interferes with sleep if the flight is at night. In the end, it's up to you. The concept of comfort is individual for everyone.

Now about the not so good places.

    27, 28, 44 and 45 rubles. These seats have two very significant disadvantages compared to standard economy class seats. On the one hand, proximity to toilets. It certainly won't smell like a toilet. reserved seat carriage trains, but constant running, walking, and sometimes queues are guaranteed. On the other hand, due to the fact that there will be a wall of toilets immediately behind you, the chairs either have a limitation in reclining or do not recline at all. Please register for these rows last.

    From 41 r.. From this row there is a narrowing of the fuselage. Basically, it’s practically not noticeable, we’ll just notice this nuance. Seats 41 G and D. In these rows, the seats protrude into the aisle. The backrest may be hit by people returning from the toilet or by trolleys.

Of the airline's entire fleet (17 aircraft), I would like to especially mention one that differs in seat layout from the others - 36/265. Its tail number is VQBNS. If you get one, consider yourself lucky. This aircraft is distinguished by comfortable economy class seats, there are power sockets and footrests.

There are no more special secrets.

    Ask an airline employee for advice

    If possible, carefully study the diagram of the airliner you will fly on.

    Do not take seats where the seats do not recline or are limited in their ability to do so.

    Do not take places near toilets, kitchens and other technical rooms at the very end.

Dear site users!

We hope that this article was useful to you.

If you have ever flown on an airline plane in your life, please share your feedback about the flight.

Clear skies to you, as the pilots say, and a soft landing!

Air routes that have entangled the planet are an integral part of modern life. Dozens of airlines transport passengers and cargo, and each is interested in efficiency, reliability and high technical characteristics machines used.

Aircraft manufacturers, competing with each other and creating new types of aircraft, move technology forward. The European company Airbus made a great contribution to aircraft manufacturing, whose aircraft, the Airbus A330 300, is the leader among machines that fly long distances.

Making an airplane

In the 1970s, Airbus management was concerned about competition with Boeing, which had conquered a niche passenger transportation over long distances.

The designers were given the task of designing a new type of heavy vehicle for mass production. passenger plane. In 1980, the project received an intermediate number, TA9 TA, and since 1986 it has been assigned the number A330.

In June 1987, the development of the concept of a new aircraft was officially announced.

A special feature of the project was the inclusion in the design of parts of other aircraft of the company. For example, the development of a unified model of the pilot's cabin made it possible to save time both on engineering and design work, and on crew training.

In 1992, a presentation of the new development took place, and in the same year it took off for the first time. In 1993-1994, the third prototype, already painted in the colors of the airline, the customer of the new aircraft, passed the necessary flight tests and received certification.

During the 1990s and 2000s, work was carried out on new modifications of the machine. Eventually world aviation became richer by several more models of equipment, but this is not the end of work on the machine, which has a large resource for modernization.

How does an airplane work?

Airbus is built on the low-wing principle, the wing is located at the bottom of the fuselage. The fuselage itself is wide, with a classic tail and one fin. The flight is provided by a pair of turbofans jet engines. Depending on the modification, this is a Rolls-Royce, Pratt and Whitney, or General Electric. A landing gear with three supports, a pair under the center section, in the middle of the fuselage, one in front, a little further than the cockpit.

A special feature of this and other Airbus aircraft is control via a side stick, a side handle in the cockpit.

The cabin itself is equipped with a large number of electronics, an on-board computer that reads the movements of the sidestick. There are several radio receivers, including an emergency receiver-transmitter that operates in autonomous mode.

Fuel tanks are designed for 13,400 kilometers of flight at cruising speed, and the maximum reaches 930 km/h. The maximum ceiling is 13 kilometers.

The passenger compartment, depending on the model, has three varieties:

  • with one class, designed for 440 seats;
  • with two classes, for 335 passengers, with traditional division;
  • with three classes, for 295 people, respectively, with different levels of comfort.

Despite this division, the difference between the aircraft is not particularly noticeable. The seats in all three types have several common features that are common to all aircraft of this class.

The first 6 rows represent business class, the most expensive places. The first, second, as well as the fifth and sixth rows, meanwhile, are more restless and, therefore, cheaper.

The proximity of technical areas in the first two cases, and economy class in the latter, implies frequent anxiety. The proximity of the bathroom, kitchen and staff area, with the lighting constantly on, can interfere with rest or work during the flight.

It is also worth remembering that these inconveniences can be attributed to excessive sensitivity, since business class is known for its comfort.

Economy class It also has several features. Thus, the eleventh and twenty-ninth rows are best suited for passengers traveling with children; there are auxiliary devices for caring for the baby. These seats are also suitable for those who like to stretch their legs, as there is a large free space in front of the seats.

The only negative is that, as a rule, these two categories of passengers often come into conflict. It is better for passengers with older children to take seats near the windows that are not covered by wings, as teenagers always enjoy watching the flight.

For people concerned about safety, it is best to take seats in the back. According to statistics, in an accident, passengers have the best chance of surviving.

Competition with similar machines

Since the Airbus A330 300 is not the only aircraft in the world, it will be useful to compare it with its closest competitor. The most common and well-known type of similar aircraft is the Boeing 767 or 777 model.

  • all types of aircraft have 2 pilots;
  • Airbus's passenger capacity ranges from 253 to 440 people in various modifications, Boeing accommodates from 181 to 440 passengers;
  • vehicle weight is 233,000 kg for Airbus, and from 179,170 to 297,550 for Boeing;
  • the cruising speed of Airbuses is 896 km/h, for Boeings of different models this figure varies from 870 km/h to 917 km/h;
  • maximum speed is respectively 913 km/h and from 913 km/h to 950 km/h.

These comparative characteristics speak about the stability of Airbus. Despite Boeing's higher performance, they were obtained on more modern machines.

Not all devices put into operation have these qualities, while European machines initially had high performance.

Aircraft based on the A330

The basic model served as the basis for modifications:

  • A330-100, an unsuccessful first version, intended as a replacement for the A300 and A310, but contributed to research into wings and their interchangeability;
  • The A330-200, designed to replace the A300-600R version and fight on an equal footing, was certified in 1998, one of the most popular aircraft, technically distinguished by an elongated fin;
  • A330-200F, a cargo version of the previous aircraft, born in Toulouse in 2009. The vehicle is capable of transporting both pallets and containers weighing up to 65 tons over 7,400 kilometers, or 70 tons over 5,950 kilometers, and is distinguished by a variety of internal layouts in accordance with the specifics of the cargo being transported. Upgraded to the A330-200HGW model, increasing either range by 560 kilometers or carry weight by 3.4 tons;
  • The A330-300, a stretched fuselage intended as a replacement for older aircraft in the line, is being created in both cargo and passenger versions;
  • A330 Neo series, developments of recent years, based on new types of materials and structures, designed to replace obsolete machines produced in the 1990s-2000s;
  • The A330 P2F, also a new product, developed and produced jointly with Singapore's ST Aerospace, is a variant that includes a hybrid of cargo and passenger air transport.

Airbus also works successfully with the military. For the RAF (Royal Air Force) of Her Majesty Elizabeth II, engineers prepared an Airbus A330MRTT, a transport tanker. It was later modified into FSTA, where the letter F stands for future, declaring its ambitions. For the Americans, this model participated in the tender as the KC-30.

The possibilities are truly amazing. At the same time, the “bird” can “feed” two planes or helicopters, and it is possible not only to transport fuel, but also passengers. The eternal competitor, Boeing, was defeated and the British Air Force placed orders for 16 of these machines, and the Australians needed 5 more.

The United States Air Force intends to purchase another 179 winged tanks, and they are expected to be used both as a transport and as a refueling tank. The order, however, was frozen due to a corruption scandal during the tender, although it relates to Boeing.

Role in world aviation

Among passengers, the Airbus A330 receives flattering reviews. Comfort and reliability distinguish this aircraft.

During its service there were eight aircraft, of which at least three were destroyed for reasons not related to the design, such as a surprise attack on an airfield.

This aircraft is used by the world's leading air carriers, from Nordwind and Qatar to the Russian Aeroflot. In some cases, “watermelon” is taken as the standard for a passenger air carrier, due to its efficiency and European quality.

Video

Development of a Western European twin-engine, wide-body, passenger Airbus airliner The A330-300 began simultaneously with development of the four-engine A340, in June 1987. Although these projects developed in parallel, the A330-300 made its first flight after the A340 on November 2, 1992. The A330-300 was developed as a replacement for the aging Airbus A300 aircraft.

The aircraft simultaneously received the European JAA (Joint Airworthiness Authorities) and the American FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) certificate on October 21, 1993.

The aircraft entered service and first commercial delivery took place on December 30, 1993. The French airline Air Inter became the first airline to receive the Airbus A330-300. The first commercial flight was made by an Airbus A330-300 with 412 passenger seats on January 17, 1994 on the route Paris - Marseille.

Airbus A330-300 interior

The A330-300 adopted a number of technologies used on the A320. For example, such as a digital fly-by-wire control system, sidestick joysticks as flight control levers and new system flight instruments EFIS (Electronic flight instrument system), consisting of six liquid crystal multifunction displays.

The A330-300 is equipped with two General Electric CF6-80E1A2 engines with a power of 300.3 kN or a Pratt & Whitney PW-4164 with a power of 284.7 kN. This type of aircraft also uses Rolls Royce Trent-768 and Trent-772 engines with a power of 304.6 kN.

The fuselage of the A330-300, although based on the predecessor aircraft of the A300 B2/B4, is longer. In an economical configuration, it can carry up to 440 passengers. The three-class layout accommodates 295 passenger seats and 335 seats in two-class modification. The aircraft's cargo compartments can accommodate up to 32 LD3 type aviation containers, the volume of which is 4.5 cubic meters. The airliner's flight range at maximum load is 10,800 kilometers, which is 2,500 thousand kilometers less than that of its younger model, the A330-200.

Since July 1999, Airbus S.A.S. offers a modified version of the aircraft, unofficially named Airbus A330-300X. In this modification, the instrument panel in the cockpit is slightly modified, has new navigation equipment and an additional fuel tank is installed. Airlines are also offered a cargo version of the A330-300F aircraft.
