5. Pond in Polivanovo

6. Pond at Epiphany

There are two types of recreation areas in the capital: where sunbathing is allowed and where you can also swim. Whether a body of water belongs to one type or another depends on the safety of the lake, pond or section of the river. It is determined by microbiological indicators of water, the absence of dangerous objects on the bottom and the entire beach area.
Meshchersky pond in Solntsevo
Meshchersky Pond is an artificial reservoir that was built in the eighteenth century from dams on the Nevershka River. Once upon a time, the village of Vatulino was located on its banks. Later it was named Meshchersky in honor of the prince with the same surname, who owned this territory. Currently this land is part of Moscow. To support the reservoir, a 3 m high dam is used, which forms Meshchersky Avenue.
This area is characterized by low-rise buildings. There are no tall buildings here, making it quite quiet on weekdays. On holidays and weekends, many residents of Western and southern regions capital Cities. There is not much sand around the pond, but there are many places where you can comfortably sit on the grass. In 2015, the adjacent pond was reconstructed. The authorities plan to clean and deepen the reservoir, tidy up the surrounding area and carry out work to strengthen the platinum. This beach is one of the paid ones, but there is a significant plus - it has a swimming pool. The ROYAL BAR club is located at the Vodny Stadium and can accommodate up to a thousand people. In addition to the opportunity to sunbathe and swim, here you can visit a restaurant with an impressive selection of dishes and drinks.
Since April, there have been white tents here where you can relax in company. Guests of the beach club will enjoy exciting programs and exciting music. During the warm season, weddings are often celebrated here.

Beach "Levoberezhny"
This beach has been famous since the 1950s. Located on the left bank of the Moscow River, it appeared thanks to enthusiasts who decided to clear it and improve it. Near the Levoberezhny beach there is a large multi-storey building, known among local residents as “ Chinese Wall" Its residents have an excellent opportunity to relax by the water without leaving anywhere.
The only disadvantage of this beach is the electrical substation with high-voltage supports. We recommend that everyone who wants to stay healthy stay 100 m away from it - then the electromagnetic background will not pose a danger.

Troparevsky Pond in Tyoply Stan
Troparevsky Pond is located on the Ochakovka River, on the territory of the reserve Teply Stan. This park was founded in 1961 in honor of the Twenty-Second Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. The architect planned to create 15 squares here, each of which is dedicated to one of the republics, in the center - large area with an amphitheater and fountain.
According to his plan, the river bed was to become a cascade of ponds connected by bridges. Numerous alleys and Botanical Garden. However, most of these intentions were not realized - until 2006, the territory made a depressing impression and required restoration - both the park territory and the reservoir.
Like many other recreational areas in the capital, Troparevsky Pond was landscaped in 2007. The territory was cleared, an equipped beach, a summer amphitheater, as well as areas for sports and children's games appeared.

Serebryany Bor-2 in Khoroshevo
This swimming place is very popular among Muscovites and guests of the capital. Serebryany Bor is a natural monument, so you can’t cut down trees, do construction work or pollute the water here. Thanks to these prohibitions, as well as measures to protect this place, the forest and water here are always clean. It is believed that this is where the bank of the Moscow River is the cleanest.

This is one of the largest beaches in Serebryany Bor, where you can officially swim. On both sides of the Moscow River there are recreation areas - “Bora Bora” and “Uletay”. There you can have a good rest, sunbathe, and even dance in the evening. Unfortunately, there are no rescue or medical services in these areas, so you can swim here only at your own risk.

It is part of the Kosinsky Lakes. Due to the great depth of the reservoir, in the 17th century the Amusement Flotilla of Peter the Great was located here. Currently, on White Lake there is one of the capital’s beaches suitable for swimming. Not far from here there are two clubs - a yacht club and a children's sea club.

Big city pond
In the central part of Zelenograd there is a large city pond, the coastal part of which is the capital’s beach. It owes its appearance to the construction of a dam on a river called Skhodnya. During the years of the USSR, Zelenograd was closed from prying eyes; there were no large industrial enterprises here. Thanks to this, the region’s territory, including reservoirs, is characterized by a minimal degree of pollution. The large pond is located in Victory Park, near the city administration. Most holiday events and folk festivals are held here.

Black Lake
This modest-sized reservoir is located in a wooded area of Moscow - in the 6th microdistrict. The Black Lake was formed naturally and was fed by crystal for quite a long time clean water from springs. Unfortunately, over time, its reserves were depleted, which led to a fourfold decrease in the already small reservoir. In those areas where there used to be water, now only a swamp overgrown with reeds remains.
Citizens from neighboring areas still go to the lake to swim in the water, which remains icy even in July and August.

School Lake
It was created in the same way as the Big City Pond, on the Skhodnya River. In the 19th century, as a result of the construction of a dam, a small river became a large reservoir. Once upon a time, water was drawn from it for steam locomotives that ran between Moscow and St. Petersburg.
