Georgia cannot yet offer a developed tourist infrastructure for family tourism. Transport alone is worth something. To get from Tbilisi airport to the Black Sea coast, it will take half a day by bus. There are very few high-quality and affordable hotels where you could completely trust the service and relax to the fullest.

But there are pluses, which we will also talk about in this article.

Why is it worth coming to Georgia with children

  • One of the best countries for
  • Visa-free regime(only a valid passport is needed).
  • Favorable conditions for health improvement (sun, mountain air, black sands, thermal waters)
  • Natural products. An abundance of homemade sour milk products, local fruits and vegetables are a storehouse of vitamins.
  • Tasty food. But note that all dishes are very spiced. Khachapuri, pies and desserts are suitable for children. Order other dishes without spices.
  • Developing resorts. Not all cities and beaches are equipped for a comfortable pastime, but they are actively being renovated and built.
  • Rich excursion program: picturesque nature, mountains and ancient cities.
  • Lots of fun for kids.

When is the best time to visit Georgia

A good option can be the end of June for a quiet time with the kids. This month the atmosphere is calm, there are few tourists, and the sea has already warmed up enough. Minus - there may be rains, because of the flowing river, the water in the sea is dirty (Batumi) and many entertainment on the beach does not work.

The peak season starts in July, when cafes on the beaches open, and there is less space on it. Therefore, for babies, the environment will be less favorable and noisy. But at this time, all the entertainment on the beaches is already open and the weather is the sunniest.

It is better to give preference to August. Temperatures are most favorable for sun exposure and the water is the warmest at this time.

Guided tours can be organized in May and September.

Seasonal fruits are available from May to November. The first strawberry harvest is harvested in May, followed by cherries and apricots, later peaches, melons, watermelons, figs, apples and pears. Autumn brings grapes, persimmons, pomegranates and tangerines. The last harvests are taken in November.

Summer resorts

Tbilisi

The capital hospitably welcomes its guests and offers many different entertainment, excursions and interesting places.

You should start your acquaintance with a tour of the streets and courtyards of the old city. It will be interesting to organize individual excursion, during which, you can move at your own pace, and the guide, looking into the old courtyards with carved balconies, will be able to interest children as well.

Interesting places to visit:

  • Narikala fortress and cable car;
  • Rike Park;
  • amusement park "Mtatsminda" and a ride on the funicular;
  • museum of dolls;
  • mini science museum;
  • zoo;
  • aquapark;
  • entertainment center "Astra park";
  • Turtle Lake.

This is the main tourist centre Georgia, located in the subtropical climatic zone.

The city is very lively, there is a lot of entertainment for children:

  • In the city center there is a zoo and a dolphinarium, which are open for daily visits.
  • There are areas with cartoon characters on the embankment, amusement park, attractions and singing fountains.

Teenagers may be interested in a ride on the famous cable car or on a bicycle along the Batumi boulevard.

The only drawback of the resort is the polluted beach, especially in the central part of the city, it is not cleaned properly, so there is a lot of rubbish lying around.

The whole beach is made of pebbles, which is not very comfortable for kids.

There are all-inclusive hotels in Batumi, but they are not in great demand, since at the established prices it is much more profitable to eat in local cafes and restaurants (the average price for a full meal per person is 20 GEL). Are in great demand guest houses and the private sectors, the conditions for living in such places are not bad, but at the same time the prices are more than democratic.

If you have time, you should go to the amusement park near Kabuleti "Tsitsinatela". Be sure to go to the dolphinarium for the show: emotions are overwhelming, dolphins are incredible and so touching, you can sign up separately and swim with them (the pleasure is not cheap, but the emotions are worth it).

If you are driving to Batumi, then on the road in the village of Tskhaltubo (near the city of Kutaisi) there is Prometheus caves and Sataplia cave complex... The caves are cool enough - the year-round temperature inside is +14 degrees. Entering the cave, you descend and then climb winding paths to the sounds of classical music and constantly changing multi-colored lighting that adorns stalactites and stalagmites. Finally, after passing 1450 meters, you reach a small pier and board the boat. In the twilight, the boat glides on the water, you bend down so as not to bump and imagine yourself as a treasure-seeker - the sensations are amazing.

The Sataplia cave complex is a unique reserve, which is known for its cross caves and dinosaur footprints, located between the resort of Tskhaltubo and the city of Kutaisi. The length of the cave is 500 meters, the height is up to 400 meters, and each calcite outgrowth resembles either an animal or a person, but there is also a “stone heart” (a huge stalagmite that resembles a human heart).

When planning a vacation for a children's vacation - take a closer look at Georgia, this country knows how to surprise, treat, entertain and impress - it will definitely appeal to both adults and children.

* Hotel prices are indicated at the time of publication.

Yes, the children were running around at the airport until the very departure, and this is until 12 at night. But! There were no whims of children or complaints from others.

But as soon as the plane began to gain altitude, their eyelids closed instantly under the weight of gravity. And they did not open until the very arrival.

I think flying for three hours in the afternoon with a child in the same chair would be more difficult.

Upon arrival, the children woke up, gazed around without tears (and this was at three o'clock in the morning).

At the airport, we were allowed to skip the line, and the border guard himself came up to us and, in hard-to-understand Russian, offered to go through passport control first.

It is necessary to give an explanation to the place where we rested

I searched the entire Internet, listened and read a lot of reviews, as a result, I chose the place of rest - the village of Grigoleti - intuitively.

She phoned the owner of the house herself and arranged a transfer.

We got to a wonderful place.

A small village, with pine trees along the coast, black magnetic sands (very useful for the health of both adults and children) on the beach, the cleanest air and the atmosphere of a "home" resort.

I must say that in June there are no tourists there yet. On the beach we were practically alone.

Why didn't I choose a popular resort like Kobuleti or Ureki? I wanted silence, I don't really like crowded places.

So the sea

I must say right away that such a vacation is not suitable for those who are looking for entertainment, who want communication, who want excursions.

We, of course, got out of our village. In neighboring Poti, in Ureki. There are many shops, entertainment for children.

But: it was hot, crowded, and we quickly ran to our house on the seashore. Moreover, he was on the seashore in the literal sense of the word. You open the door, ten meters of lawn - and immediately the beach.

We had our own large room on the first floor of the house, with a bathroom (washing machine) and a kitchen.

I cooked food myself

We pre-filled our luggage with baby cereals, canned food, a pot, diapers. And I must say, if not for this, our vacation would have cost much more.

The food is really expensive in Georgia, for example, milk for our money is 3.5 rubles (while this, you know, "chemical"), we did not buy meat at all! Although by the end of June, homemade milk was brought directly to the beach, very tasty and cheap.

There were no entertainments in our village at all... We spent all the time on the beach or on the lawn, playing ball, "catch-up" and various simple games invented on the spot.

I took a lot of children's card games, so we weren't bored.

In the first days of vacation, there was practically no one on the beach

But the sea (we flew from June 18 to June 28) was cool. By the end of June, companies of people began to appear. The sea became very warm.

Children could not be pulled out of the sea! The entrance to the sea is very soft, smooth and long.

You can move away from the sea about fifty meters, and still stand waist-deep in water. For parents with children, this is paradise. And, once, we even saw dolphins!

As for the beach ... it is dirty

But this dirt is not bottles and rubbish, but some kind of branches, sticks, leaves.

But the sea itself is clean. Lots of seashells.

What I didn't like was the wandering dogs. All of them were harmless, but they caused inconvenience by begging.

There could also be a herd of cows walking along the beach! But for the children, it was more of fun.

For children of this age, it is not difficult to come up with entertainment, even being in one place for so many days.

These are morning jogging along the sea, with splashes and laughter, burying in the sand and digging up treasures, tunnels through which water is launched, burying children and ourselves in the sand, well, nobody canceled banal kalachik cars.

Every day at the sea was a holiday for children, even without any toys and third-party entertainment.

What left a negative imprint on me

The taste of tap water, the lack of a good grocery store within walking distance, the absence of roadsides on the roads and very, very fast drivers (a pedestrian crossing will not allow you to cross the road safely, you need to wait until all the cars pass).

Which will definitely make me go back there

Calm, a sense of security and people. Even at night we could leave the door to the street open, although our house did not even have a fence.

You feel at home there and you are not afraid. People are very sociable, they love Belarusians, and this respect is not feigned.

It was unforgettable to sit in the evening on a bench near the house and watch stunning sunsets, even the children at this time calmed down and looked fascinated and surprised.

The splash of the waves provided the pacification that we all need at the end of a hot and bright day.

On the last day we decided to go to Batumi.

And what I realized there is a completely different vacation. The city is stunning in its aura, architecture, people, entertainment, playgrounds, food and nature. But ... that would be a completely different story.

So, what will I say: you can go to Georgia with children

But provide everything: food, leisure preferences, local flavor.

Holidays in Georgia under the "all inclusive" program will be very expensive, but therefore no less attractive.

But the rest in the outback will leave indelible positive impressions only if you are ready for it, as we were.

Namely: simplicity, almost village life and a lot of time alone with nature and yourself.
