The founder of the legendary park is an Italian (Livio Furini). As a child, he made magic castles from cardboard. They became a reality after he saw the American Disneyland and wanted to give Italy something similar: a park for family entertainment. Being a successful businessman, he found 200 million liras for the park of his dreams. Gardaland was built in six months in the town of Castelnuovo del Garda.

Back then, 40 years ago, Gardaland had 15 original rides; after 10 years they grew into thematic zones: Sunken Atlantis, Ancient Egypt, Knightly Middle Ages, Hawaiian Islands, Outer Space, Cartoon Land, etc. In 2006, the English concern Merlin Entertainment bought Gardaland, which was gaining popularity.

On July 19, 1975, the doors of this complex were opened, which consists of an amusement park Gardaland Park, an aquarium (Gardaland Sea Life) and a hotel (Gardaland Hotel), with a total area of 445,000 square meters. The idea of creating Gardaland Park belongs to the Italian Livio Furini, who dreamed of creating a place where the whole family and people of any age could have fun together.

Amusement parks began to develop in Italy in the mid-60s of the last century, it was during this period that the first entertainment areas for family recreation appeared: Edenlandia, built in Naples in 1964, and Fiabilandia, opened a year later in Rivazzurra (Rimini). At first, both of these parks were quite simple and offered mostly Luna Park rides and carousels for the little ones.

In the mid-70s, a group of Veneto entertainment entrepreneurs traveled to California. Inspired by the success of Disneyland, they returned and decided to join forces and create something similar on the shores of Lake Garda. Thus Gardaland was born, modeled after the American Disneyland.

Over time, amusement parks in Italy continued to develop, taking on new forms and directions, and thus aquatic, zoological, educational, adventure, and theme parks appeared. There are currently about 140 of them in the country: from very small ones, run by individual families, to international level parks, such as Gardaland, Mirabilandia and Rainbow MagicLand.

Every year, Italian amusement parks are visited by about 10 million people, generating 350 million in profit. The most visited (and most profitable) park is Gardaland; over 3 million people try to visit it every year. This is the most attractive place for tourists in northern Italy and the third most visited place in the whole country (after the Colosseum and the Vatican Museums).

Gardaland - history

I would like to note that main feature This park is dividing it into thematic areas, of which there are already ten in the park in 2014: Egypt, Atlantis, the Middle Ages, Europe of the last century, Hawaii, Burma, the East, the Far West, Science Fiction, Space.

There are 33 attractions in the park, each of which is equipped with photo and video recording. All the attractions surprise with their beauty, and the variety gives each of you the opportunity to choose something to your liking.

  • Eurochocolate from April 1 to April 13 from 10.00 to 18.00: this season first opened in 2013, devoting an extra opening to the theme of chocolate and sweets.
  • Magic Season from April 14 to July 26 and from September 10 to September 28 from 10.00 to 18.00: magical summer season
  • Magic Night from July 27 to September 9 from 10.00 to 23.00: magical nights
  • Magic Halloween on weekends in October and November from 10.00 to 18.00: magical Halloween
  • Magic Winter from 10.00 to 18.00: magical winter

There are 5 restaurants on the territory of the complex:

  • Il Covo Del Bucanieri - a typical fast food restaurant located on 2 floors, decorated in English style;
  • Fast Food Blue Tornado - another fast food presented as a small military airport;
  • Pizzeria Saloon - cowboy-style pizzeria;
  • Lo nada del Corsaro Nero - a restaurant with an external terrace;
  • Self Service Aladino - self-service cafe

The hotel, located on the territory of the complex, creates convenience for visitors who decide to stay for a few days. The variety of room designs is amazing in its imagination, but the cost of the rooms cannot be considered an economical option, so our trip lasted only one day. In this case, the saying is appropriate: “If you want to get into a fairy tale, be prepared to spend money”

Any transport will take you to the Gardaland amusement park, but, in my opinion, the most convenient way to travel is by personal transport or by train: the park is located 2 kilometers from the Peschiera del Garda station, Milan-Venice railway line, and provides free bus(Navetta), who will pick you up from the station and take you all the way to the park.

Gardaland, via Derna, 4, 37014, Castelnuovo del Garda, Verona, Italywww.gardaland.it 39 045 644 9777

The complex can be divided into three areas:

  • Amusement area;
  • Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium;
  • Hotels Garadaland and Garadaland Aventur.

To understand the attraction areas, you need to find a map of the park, which is on the company’s official website. The Fantasi zone will be indicated in blue, the Adventure zone in green, and the Adrenaline zone in red.

Gardens of Villa Gamberaya

The beautiful villa was built in 1610 by the architect Gamberelli. She combined modesty and luxury. Oak groves, an ancient wall surrounded by a park, a greenhouse with orange trees, as well as statues of mythical monsters have been preserved. During the war, the central building was destroyed. The ruins lie under the shade of the trees, but the stone lion still protects the deceased Tuscan valley.

The synthesis of a richly conceived parterre with terraces rising higher and higher under the canopy of centuries-old plane trees, the variety of fountains, the richness of floral shades, the decorativeness of the entrance gates and the simplicity of the casino facades, the comparative preservation of the fountains and buildings give this villa an extraordinary charm.

The role of theme parks in the development of international tourism The popularity of theme parks as holiday destinations will increase every year.

The European entertainment market is quite developed.

The history of amusement parks dates back to medieval Europe, where Pleasure Gardens opened in the spring on the outskirts of major cities.

The European market is divided into two types of parks, those that have developed over many years and those that have been specifically conceived and built as theme parks. Entertainment has now become a global industry with huge, rapidly growing revenues. Theme parks occupy a special place in this industry.

The idea of theme parks originated in Europe at the end of the 19th century. At the World Exhibition in Brussels, an amusement corner (from the French Attraction, “attraction”), a carousel and a Ferris wheel, appeared for the first time. A little later, the world's first attraction based on literature, “From a Gun to the Moon,” appeared in Paris. Visitors one by one climbed into the cramped “spacecraft”, they were enveloped in smoke, and then a lunar landscape appeared behind the porthole. Together with the carousels located next door, it became known as Luna Park.

Mirabilandia

This amusement park near Ravenna was inaugurated on July 4, 1992. In the first years of its existence, it was not particularly popular, primarily due to inept management. However, in 1996, Mirabilandia was acquired by the commercial group Loffelhardt-Casoli, which, with the help of large investments, was able to update and diversify the park, opening a large number of new attractions, including, for example, the longest roller coaster in Europe, Katun.

Recently they added the tallest roller coaster in Europe, Divertical. In total, the park has 37 attractions, there is a circus, a 4D cinema, and performances are constantly organized for park guests, including stunt performances, ice theater, laser shows, and fireworks.

The number of visitors to Mirabilandia is constantly growing. In 2003, Mirabilandia Beach, a water amusement park, appeared next door to the theme park, which immediately won success with the public, thanks, among other things, to the low entrance price and the “second day is free” promotion. Mirabilandia is divided into seven themed areas, set in the greenery of the trees around the central lake. Here everyone will find entertainment to suit their taste; some of the attractions are unique and exist only here.

Mirajika

The Miragica amusement park opened in 2009 in the city of Molfetta (25 kilometers north of Bari), it covers an area of almost 100,000 square meters and consists of 19 attractions. Italy in miniature

Park "Italy in Miniature", located near the resort of Rimini on east coast Italy, is one of the oldest and most famous such parks in the world. The huge territory of the park follows the outlines of the well-known Italian “boot”, where the whole of Italy appears before you, only small - from 1:50 to 1:25. Italy in miniature is a cross between a museum and an amusement park.

Italy in Miniature includes over 250 models of natural and architectural landmarks of Italy

The theme park "Italy in Miniature" is located on the Adriatic coast in Viserba, north of Rimini. The initiator of the creation of this park was Ivo Rambaldi, after he saw similar parks in other European countries. It took three years of work and 300 million lire (150,000 euros) to realize the idea.

Exhibits of miniature Italy. Photo hotelgabicce.info

The park opened on July 4, 1970. At first, its exhibition area was 20,000 square meters, with 50 miniature attractions in a ratio of 1:25 and 1:50. Over the years, to attract more crowds, some regular attractions have appeared near miniature Italy. But still, the main goal of tourists coming here is to explore 272 miniature monuments located on 85,000 square meters of park area in one day.

You can also travel around this park on a gondola, which is five times smaller than the real Venetian one. You can play in the scientific Luna Park, ride the Canoe and Sling Shot attractions, and look at miniature Italy from above, from the height of the Rainbow monorail. And since 2007, those who wish can also take part in water fights in the Cannonacqua attraction.

If earlier, tourism products were mainly non-specialized, with the same characteristics intended for mass tourism, then now and in the future the tourism product should not only be diversified, but also correspond to the development trend of tourism demand, which is aimed at short-term multiple stays of travelers throughout the year. To this end, many countries are creating new concepts to attract tourists.

Here, the use of theme parks as a tourist product of domestic and international tourism plays a significant role. For example, each of the Disneyland parks existing in the world (in the states of California and Florida in the USA, in Japan and France) receives 1 million guests per year in a short period of time. This number of guests represents 10% of the total US international tourist flow.

The nature of the theme park business is directly related to the income and leisure time of the average person.
