What to choose: skis or snowboard? How to master skating technique? What equipment is preferable? How much do instructor services cost? - Despite the fact that the country’s most ski resort is located only 70 kilometers from Sochi, there are many among us who dream of, but have not yet decided to take the breathtaking descents on the snowy slopes. It's all about ignorance and confusion: some believe that skiing is very expensive, others are ready to spend, but don't know where to start, and still others simply don't have the motivation. It is precisely for such doubtful and confused people that the Rosa Khutor resort offers the “Let’s start skiing” campaign.

SCAPP carefully studied the special offer, tested the equipment, tracks and is ready to name five reasons to go learn skiing or snowboarding immediately.

Clear and accessible 7 days a week

The package offer “Let's start skiing” is, first of all, a completely clear algorithm of actions for a novice skier or snowboarder. The starting point of the whole process is the First Ski and Snowboard School. This is where you sign up for a group lesson. Then you pay for everything at the cash desk and head to the rental office. The rental service staff selects the equipment, and you try it on. That's it, the future conqueror of the slopes is equipped, you can climb the mountain!

As you can see, everything is extremely simple, clear and fast. Everything has already been thought out for you, all you have to do is strictly follow the instructions and enjoy the learning. And all this is available to you daily as part of the evening skiing, which starts at 19:00. Riding under the stars is a special atmosphere and extraordinary pleasure! Therefore, starting to learn in such a fairy tale is a guarantee that you will definitely succeed in skiing or snowboarding.

Incredible Savings

A little math. How much will skiing on the resort's slopes cost you? 1,200 rubles - evening ski pass, 1,400 rubles - equipment rental, 975 rubles - two hours of skiing under the guidance of an instructor. Now compare: within the framework of the “Let’s start riding” offer, the cost of the package of listed services will be only 2,500 rubles!

This is the place for beginners

The slopes of the Rosa Khutor resort are ideal for beginner snowboarders and skiers. The slope is wide enough, there is no excessive steepness. Modern artificial snow system ensures maximum duration ski season! Another important factor: future champions learn new sports in the company of inexperienced skiers or snowboarders like themselves. The entire process takes place under the strict guidance of experienced instructors who take into account the age, psychological and physical characteristics of the guest. And this, of course, relieves tension, a feeling of awkwardness and makes the learning process comfortable, exciting and safe.

Convenient rental

It is the equipment that largely determines whether a person will enjoy skating. Therefore, selecting equipment is a serious process. The rental service employees are truly fanatical about their work: they not only help you select equipment, but also give practical advice on its operation. They carefully monitor the equipment - once a week they check the condition of the “slipper”, look to see if there are chips or scratches on the skis or boards. If a defect is detected, the equipment is immediately sent to the ski service.

Après-ski atmosphere

Evening skating is magical! Clear sky strewn with stars fresh air, creaking snow, play of shadows in the light of spotlights - what could be more romantic and spectacular? To reinforce the vivid impressions of your first experience on skis or snowboards, in the immediate vicinity of the slopes there is everything you need to make the evening truly fabulous.

IN Krasnaya Polyana highway differ not only in the level of complexity, but also in their belonging to different cable car complexes. The resort has built 4 independent ski resort. Each of them is self-sufficient, has its own ski lifts, ski slopes and related infrastructure.

Quickly jump to the desired section:

Route map Krasnaya Polyana Rosa Khutor

The new complex with a distinct sports purpose will be of interest primarily to good skiers. The vast majority of slopes are marked blue. But one of the longest routes, starting almost at the very top of the ridge, belongs to a higher category of difficulty. In addition, an interesting slope with varied terrain provides opportunities for freeride.

Children and beginners will also enjoy Rosa Khutor. The ski slopes for beginners are quite long here. This allows you to make an interesting walk skiing even with minimal skiing skills. However, the green trails have a number of intersections with more difficult descents. Therefore, it is better for beginners not to travel alone.

You can feel safe and confident in the Children's Club. There is a convenient modern lift - the “magic carpet”. It resembles a familiar escalator and quickly takes children to the beginning of the slide. A professional instructor teaches children to ride. And at this time, parents have the opportunity to calmly conquer the Lesnaya highway.

Thus, Rosa Khutor is attractive to all categories of tourists.

Route map Krasnaya Polyana Gornaya Karusel

The sports and tourist complex "Mountain Carousel" is an Olympic facility. A large media village is being built, hotels, shopping and entertainment centers, sports grounds, etc. are being built. The total area of the Krasnaya Polyana ski slopes here will be 135 hectares, and their length will be 70 km. Vacationers are offered 6 green, 8 blue, 16 red and 6 black slopes.

In the 2010-2011 season, the complex included 3 stages of a brand new gondola-type cable car, serving several options for descents for well-prepared skiers. Since 2013, a lift to the foot of the Black Pyramid has been operating. A small slope where beginners can practice is located in the area of the second stage.

Complex Mountain Carousel attractive because it is located closest to the residential sector, in the village of Esto-Sadok, within walking distance of some hotels. However, the snow in this part of the ridge melts the fastest. Thus, most often only the topmost route, marked with a red difficulty level, is in good, skiable condition.

A detailed description of the infrastructure of the complex and prices for the ski lift can be found on the page Mountain Carousel Krasnaya Polyana.

The complex is very popular among freeriders and well-trained skiers. The upper part of the slope has black and red markings. On both sides of the lift are the Shumikhinsky and Salymovsky circuses, where virgin lands are practiced. skiing on Krasnaya Polyana and backcountry. In the area of the lower station of the third stage of the cable car there is a small section of the slope equipped with rope tows. They maintain a small track designed for beginners or learners. Under the second stage of the lift, in the wooded part of the slope, there is a blue trail. Below the first one is green. But due to the warm climate, they are rarely in acceptable condition for riding.

A detailed description of the infrastructure of the complex and prices for the ski lift can be found on the Alpika-Service Krasnaya Polyana page.

Difficult route. A separate track under a separate, unconnected lift in the area of the 3rd stage of the main complex.

2. Control your speed.
It is no coincidence that there are car and ski tracks. On the slopes, as on the road, most collisions are caused by speeding. Namely, because of exceeding the threshold beyond which a skier or snowboarder can control this speed. Before you start moving and during the process, correctly assess your abilities, terrain features, weather conditions and the load density of the slope with those skiing. Reducing speed is necessary in crowded places, in narrow sections of the route, in poor visibility, on the edge of a steep slope, near ski lifts and at the end of the route.

3. Choose a route.
Just like on a highway, whoever is driving ahead has priority. Therefore, the skier or snowboarder behind must choose a trajectory that does not create any danger for those going down the slope. To do this, it is enough to maintain the distance necessary to perform any maneuvers, including a possible fall.

4. Overtaking.
When overtaking, it is also necessary to maintain a distance and maneuver at a distance sufficient for safety. The distance is necessary not only for overtaking moving skiers but also for avoiding vacationers.

5. Enter the highway, start driving and move up the slope.
Before you start moving and go onto the slope, look up and down the slope and correctly assess the situation, as well as your position relative to other skiers. Carving skis and snowboards allow you to move up the slope when turning, against the general movement. Snowboarders and skiers must be especially careful when performing such maneuvers.

6. Stopping on the highway.
Stopping on narrow or poorly visible sections of the route is prohibited (except in extreme situations). After a fall, it is necessary to leave this place as quickly as possible (if possible), without leaving anything on the slope. You can rest or walk only at the edge of the road.

7. Ascent or descent on foot.
Do not create obstacles for those riding. Walk only along the edge of the road. In addition, shoe prints spoil the slope and can cause traumatic situations.

8. Observe the route markings.
Before going out on the slope, check out the trail map. Do not go on slopes that do not correspond to your level of training. Do not ignore prohibitory signs or ride on closed trails.

9. Providing assistance in case of accidents.
In the event of an accident, riders are obliged to provide any possible assistance to the victims. For all athletes, one of the most important principles is the principle of cooperation and assistance in case of accidents, regardless of any legal obligations. In the event of an accident, it is necessary to provide first aid to the victim, notify the relevant services and somehow mark the scene of the incident to warn other riders.

10. Identification of participants in the incident.
Every skier or snowboarder who witnesses or participates in an incident is required to exchange contact information with other witnesses or participants. Only complete and accurate testimony from witnesses will help restore the picture of the incident. Rescue reports and photographs are of significant value in determining the extent of responsibility.

“Carousel” also tries to be in trend, but the resort is more likely designed for a more mature and serious audience. Here the hotels are more expensive and there are more decent restaurants.

Off-piste skiing is not much inferior to Rosa Khutor - this season they even opened a special freeride track, which is not used after a snowfall, but in some places there are signs “Off-piste skiing is prohibited!” Rumor has it that local avalanche officials may even take away your ski pass if they see you dashingly drawing lines in the snow couloirs and forests, but in practice we have not seen this happen. The forests here are rolled out much more slowly than at Rosa Khutor, and even during periods without snow, there is somewhere to have fun at the Carousel - if you know the places.

The main advantage of Mountain Carousel is night skiing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. These days, from 18:00 to 23:00, two lines of the lift operate, and a decent section of the route, the length of a whole line, is illuminated. So if you haven’t skied in a day or for some reason missed a day’s skiing, this is the place for you!

Where to ride: the red slopes here are quite sharp, so beginners should choose the blue ones. It’s better to go off-piste only if you know where to go.

The cost of a daily ski pass is from 1200 to 1800 rubles, depending on the season

Where to rent equipment: rentals are available here at the very bottom near the ski lift building and one line higher, on the main street of the upper Gorki Gorod.

The cost of renting a set of equipment is from 1200 to 2000 rubles per day

Ski resort, Alpine skiing, Snowboarding

This place stands a little apart; the resort opened in 2008 and immediately earned a reputation as expensive and prestigious.

The pluses are the most beautiful views, nature is simply mesmerizing with its beauty, there is even an outdoor pool at the top of the mountain. So for Instagram lovers it's easy real paradise. In addition, the village has an excellent Entertainment Center“Galaxy”, where there is a bowling alley and a water park, but this relates more to entertainment rather than skiing.

In terms of altitude differences, Gazprom is clearly inferior to its neighbors - the highest point is 1,400 meters, so the snow there usually melts faster. The trails are mostly flat and easy, which is very suitable for beginners or families active rest. Experienced skiers and snowboarders may be bored, although you can try skiing in the forest; Gazprom regulars are unlikely to leave the slopes and everything will not be rolled out there.

The resort also has night skiing, but in terms of the length of the slopes it is much inferior to skiing at Gorki, again, more suitable for beginners.

Holidays in the mountains of Sochi, in Krasnaya Polyana, in winter are very diverse. Every year new ski areas are opened, cable cars and tracks are built, and new attractions appear. Below we have collected the most important and up-to-date information from all the resorts of Krasnaya Polyana - Rosa Khutor, Gorki Gorod and the GTC Gazprom, and also especially noted the new products of this season.

What's new?

New trails and lifts

This winter season, a new (already 28 in a row!) began operating at the Rosa Khutor resort. cable car"Daphne", located in the Ober Khutor Circus. It is part of a project to relieve congestion at the resort in the Rosa Stadium area (now it is not necessary to slide down to the Dryad cable car along narrow tracks past the upper lake if you plan to go up again later) and will facilitate access to (a unique snow park made from natural materials, which will open in January).

Parking at Rosa Stadium has been significantly increased (it is still free). Like last season, for those who went up there by car, a one-day ski pass will cost 100 rubles less. Thus, a company of four people can save up to 850 rubles per day (on parking and ski passes).

New trails of varying difficulty levels have appeared on the Southern slope. (red) which starts from the top of the Crocus cable car is now twice as long, and the red Oread and Adonis routes have been added to it. Another trail for beginners, Yavor 2, appeared there - very beautiful and long (3.8 km). Naiad was red last year - this season it will not be wasted, which means it will join the zones for light freeride.

The run-out area on the Southern slope has been changed and expanded; snow generators have been installed below. But by lunchtime on the Southern slope there are the same problems with the capacity of the cable car as last year, so we recommend going there in the morning.

To the left of the Edelweiss cable car (when viewed from below) a blue Alpika route has appeared, along which you can travel to Rosa Khutor from the Alpika resort - relevant for holders of a single ski pass (when it becomes available).

Evening skiing

This season the resort has increased the number of illuminated trails! In addition to the green (training trails) Chalet and Juventa, the blue Rosa Blade and red Rosa Star trails will be available. Evening skiing has always attracted the attention of uncrowded slopes and fresh corduroy, and now with variety for riders of different skiing levels.

Open daily (starting December 26, 2017) from 19:00 to 22:45, weather permitting. The cost of a ski pass is 1250 rubles. or +650r. if you have a day ski pass for that day.

What's new?

Trails and lifts

This season, the resort will have two new training areas with green trails for those who are just planning to take up skiing or snowboarding. These trails will be equipped with rope tows. One zone will be located in the eastern sector to the left of the Polikarya Waterfall ski lift (K13), and the second in the central sector next to the Snow Star ski lift (K8).

The “Eastern Sector” was finally connected to the “Central Sector” - blue route 13T in the area of the avalanche dam. This will definitely make it easier to move around the resort. Previously, the red route was 2C which started at 1500m. up to 960m. this year it turned into blue 2F, it became flatter due to additional serpentines, and accordingly longer - 1.2 km, with a height difference of 470 meters. A small black area 2C appeared next to her.

The resort now has 4 designated zones (of which only one is open so far), where off-piste skiing will be allowed: 2 in the Central and 2 Eastern sectors of the resort. On the map, these zones are marked as black routes with a blue dash. Now freeride will be officially allowed in these zones. They will be served by the rescue service. All of them are located above 1000 meters above sea level. These sections are very difficult and unpredictable and you can ride them with special training and equipment.

In the upcoming season, tracks 2B and 2D in the Central Sector will be closed. In this place there was a landslide in the spring, the slope was strengthened in the fall, but the trails will not open this season, this area is prohibited for visiting. We do not recommend taking risks.

Evening skiing

Closed until next winter season.

Only routes 8A and 8E are open, access to which will be provided by the K8 Snow Star lift and the K9 rope tow.

Evening skiing will be available daily from 18:00 to 23:00, weather permitting. The cost of a ski pass is 950 rubles. (08.01–11.03 excluding holidays), 1050 rub. (23–25.02), 1000 rub. (12–31.03)

Bobsleigh track

Super new this year - on amateur 4-seater and professional 2-seater bobs.

1500 meters of downhill, 140 meters of vertical drop and 17 dizzying turns!
Acceleration up to 120 km/h and overload up to 5G. Highly recommended!

Unlike hiking and mountain hiking, without which I cannot imagine my life, skiing for me it's simple great holiday from the office and computer! That is why in my photo stories about skiing at Rosa Khutor there will not be a lot of words and information, but just photographs from some skiing days. I hope this helps to create the right impression about this, without a doubt, central ski resort our country!

Anticipating questions about prices ( eternal theme“Europe or Krasnaya Polyana?”) I advise you to read this material, which provides, in my opinion, an adequate comparison of prices for the 2015/2016 season, the pros and cons of holidays in the Alps or the Caucasus.

The page will be updated regularly. At the top of the page are the newest photos.

Opening of the 2015-2016 season

From my facebook: "The season has opened. Fizuha, of course, is not to hell! Finally got to the Crocus, which is on the southern slope of Rosa Khutor. Cool wide tracks“Primula” (blue) and “Veronica” (red) + awesome fields for light off-piste skiing. Peaks of Abkhazia above the clouds, bright sun, soft snow, and a minimum of people! In some places I traveled alone in a chair =) In the evening - pleasant communication with friends. It's great that more and more mountain people are moving here. The history of the new Krasnaya Polyana is being written right before our eyes. Not the same, of course, as before, but Ours!”

Abkhazia under the clouds!

There were very few people on the trails that day. Only on the training track on the Plateau it was tight!

Mini-vacation at Rosa Khutor

Vacation an hour's drive from home! Now this is reality for me. We lived in the house of the Sport-Marathon Mountain Club, located at an altitude of 1200 meters, on the site of the Mountain Olympic Village in the Rosa Khutor resort. It was a record short vacation - only 7 days. But for this a short time I managed not only to go for a ride, but also to take a break from the computer, organize a family mini-kindergarten, see a lot of friends, have fun in the water park, warm up in the sauna, swim in outdoor pool with a view of the mountains, taste delicious Caucasian cuisine from our beloved Vera Nikolaevna and even go topless skiing!! :)))

Perhaps the only thing we didn’t manage to do was ride on the powder (there wasn’t any) and see the red G runs on Gazprom (they had melted considerably due to the warm weather). After these seven days, I am now 1000% confident in the future of Krasnaya Polyana in general and our project in particular!

Mountain Olympic Village on Rosa Plateau

This year has been very busy with work and I have had very little time riding. However, back at the beginning of winter, it was in the second week of March that we planned a short vacation for a few days. The task was simple - relax and ride, and also test new ski touring equipment.

"Blue" route "Vancouver"

Since we arrived in Polyana at lunchtime, there was only time left for an evening ski tour along the already closed route. It was difficult to break through! It turns out that the piste maintenance service is closing access to the slopes because soon snow groomers will be coming out to process the pistes, a collision with which at full speed can be fraught with serious consequences for a skier.

In general, it was a great walk, rising from the Rosa Plateau to an altitude of 1600 meters in about an hour. I watched the sunset, took a couple of beautiful pictures and walked down the fresh corduroy (the snow groomers had already passed) where, at the entrance to the “Zima”, I was stopped by rescuers. It turns out that they had lost me and were about to start looking for me. That's it!

The next two days I rode for fun, and finally managed to ride the red slopes of Ober Khutor! The track is great. Quite wide and classically red. +100 Rose Khutor! With the advent of this route, Rosa Khutor became twice as interesting for me. Now there is an excellent route for all 1500 vertical meters of the resort: start from the hotel, climb to the transfer, a couple of warm-up descents along the blue slopes of Chamonix, Vancouver and Nagano with a ride on the Wolf Rock chairlift (or to the left). And then climb to the top and drive out along the most beautiful traverse route!

Be careful! Due to the fantastic views on all sides, there is a high risk of completely forgetting that you are skiing :)

After Ober, at the first right turn through the Ozernaya or Labyrinth highways, again descend to Volchaya Rock with an ascent to the transfer.

The cycle is over. One such cycle of descent and ascent takes about 35-40 minutes.

Second circus "Mountain Carousel"

One day I went on a reconnaissance trip to a new sector of trails on neighboring resort“Mountain Carousel” (photo above). In short - the beauty is indescribable! Here is one photo as an example, and here is the link for more big photo from "Mountain Carousel"!

We were very lucky with the weather, and the next day, due to strong winds, the cable cars in the upper circuses were not working. So the moral of the day: getting ready to ride in the morning certain time, you need to call and ask if the trails are open! Then you can go and mess up!

Children's slide at the "Winter" cafe

The main conclusions from these few days of skiing are simple. Firstly, we correctly chose the middle of March for skiing (there were already few people, I never stood in line). And secondly, the resort, of course, is developing, and according to rumors, it will expand further. So this will definitely be one of the most popular places For ski holiday in Russia.

Sunny day at Rosa Khutor

The season has finally opened! The main location, for me now without options, is Rosa Khutor.

I enjoyed carving on the blue pistes of Vancouver, Chamonix and Nagano. The trails are wide - I don’t want to burn! And it will be comfortable for beginners to hone their technique here. These are definitely the best of the trails on the Rose! In the evening I climbed Rose Peak (2500) to admire the evening views.

Four hours of sun, fresh air, sports and mountains. Long live alpine skiing!

I liked the work of the guys on the ropeways. They work efficiently, making sure that the booths are filled to the fullest. But the result is that the queue is less than a minute!!
